2:10 One quick tip I found out - harvestcraft salt is actually compatible with Mekanism, so that would probably be the easiest one to obtain, if you're having trouble getting Mekanism salt.
I have some tips for you: You are not 5x your mats, raw ingots are not 5x, you just gain 5 more every 3. In order to 5x your items you need to start the process with Ores, the ones you mine with Silk Touch, you can enable silk touch on the digital miner as well, and I think the process is a bit bigger than what you have, can't remember. Also, you can press the "auto-sort" button on your machines so it uses all vailable spots. Someone already told you about the "dumping excess" button. The "infinite water source" doesn't need to be 4 blocks of water, just place 1 block of water below the water pump, btw, there's a mod called Infinite water source, you craft a cube, place a mechanical pipe connecting it and the machine that needs water, set the extreme attached to the block to "extract" (do that with crouch + right click with your configurator in hand) and you will pump water like there's no tomorrow, without wasting energy on the water pump, use the pump for other stuff like lava. Good luck!
There is a mod you can add that has a do not disturb no solicitor sign that keeps those annoying merchants away lol. This was pretty helpful.. I didn't need a 60 minute run through of mechanism to understand what you were saying.
As far as I know, the electric pump works fine above a single water block (which can be water logged) with no tradeoff compared to the infinite water pool. Really nice setup.
when you dissolve it into a slurry you and go through the cleaning and crystalizing process you turn the 3 raw into 10 ingots while starting at the injection factory makes it into 8 so you are missing out on 2 ingots with this method
The issue between the Tier 3 and Tier 4 Ore Processing is, the ore to slurry bottleneck, the 3 machines that handle Ore>Dirty Slurry>Clean Slurry>Crystalization do not have factory versions meaning they can only process 1 item stack at a time and even with max upgrades its still slow as fuck. So yes you are losing out on a bit of product by only using the Tier 3 processing... but with a couple digital miners and a QIO system for storage you get so much ore that it doesnt really matter in the long run. Not to mention you need quite a few more machines to even properly work the T4. Like rn in my ~100h world ive got tens of thousands(some reaching the hundreds) of ingots , i just dont give a damn if im losing out on 2 ingots per stack of ore, if i can process 10 stacks at a time. In reality you make the T4... just to make it when speed and efficiency is involved T3 is better.
@@ghekor how many machines you have making the gases? i have one only (i just made this whole ''factory'') and it's slow as hell, the machines stop all the time because there is no oxygen or hydrogen chloride in them
@@wgnd1614 I dismantled my T4 a long while ago XD, i just made it for a bit to see how it is, but as i said in my OG comment i found its efficiency lacking, esp given the massive amounts of ore i was getting as it is at that point. Just run a T3 , Oxygen should be easy to get, for hydrogen chrolide i think the brine was the usual bottleneck? If so just make an extra brine tower or two...and at max size(which is 18 blocks high).
Good video! Except math not mathing. Looking at configuration in the video: input 3 ore, output 8 ingots. 3 ore to 8 ingots is 2,7x (simplified 8/3), about 2 times less than 5x. Seen comment about not sufficient output of something and it somehow changes ore to ingots efficiency, which is not, just slows processing speed
If your machines can't catch up, you can just use upgrades on them. (make sure your energy upgrade number is higher than speed upgrades or it will run out of energy faster than it can take it.)
a great system for the all the modium ores. I run a quarry plus in my world so those are the only ores that I really need multiply This is a nice simple system
I really hope you don’t stop documenting and covering these mods and doing simple guides on them with how they’ve changed over the years and most videos or guides being old and outdated or obscure and hard to find.
Instead of a pump and infinite water source, use a sink. Its infinite water in a single block and you don't need energy to pump it out. Also wrench can rotate the machines instead of breaking and placing again No soliciting sign stops wandering traders
This is better if you're trying to do this in a different mod pack. I'm currently working on craftoria and the sink isn't available. Though the pump works with a regular water source block and doesn't require it to be infinite
Way late into this but i just built it and for some reason i have an extremely low oxygen output, it currently fluctuates between 1 and 2 and i have no clue why. ive already rebult it, tried adding and removing speed upgrades. im at a loss.
This is a real help, I had no idea how to do any of these. Btw I see there another tier where you have to turn the ore to lquid, clean it, make crystal, and go through the rest of the process, is that one too much?
On the left side when looking in the machines there should be a button that will say auto-sort or something of that matter, just click that button and it should automatically spread the ores evenly across all machines
This process doesn’t 5x your input it is actually 3.28x I recently did this set up in ATM9 and learned the hard way. The major bottle neck for this setup is chlorine where you effectively need 21 max size brine towers to keep up with the chlorine production need.
Yeah, this is the Tier 3 setup, not the Tier 4 setup. The Tier 4 setup will introduce the following extra components: 1x Chemical Injection Chamber (Input: Gunpowder and HCl) 1x Chemical Oxydizer (Input: The Sulfur from the CIC above) 1x Chemical Infuser (Input: Oxygen and the SO2 from the above Oxydizer) 1x Rotary Condenstrator (Input: Water) 1x Chemical Infuser (Input: the vapor from the Condenstrator and SO3 from the Chemical Infuser above) (Finally we get to the actual 'input' machines...) 1x Chemical Dissolution Chamber (Input: The Ore you're trying to smash, and the H2SO4 from the previous Infuser) 1x Chemical Washer (Input: The slurry from the CDC and Water) 1x Chemical Crystalizer (Input: The clean slurry from the Washer) The crystals from that get inserted into the Injector from the start of this video's process.
(UA-cam *REALLY* doesnt want me to link to the picture of the Tier 4 setup i evolved from this Tier 3 one... but it can be done in a 7x8x3, which is still very compact considering that includes the thermal plant.)
yeah its waay nerfed, ive found a rftools crafter making a platinum hammer and hammering the ores in it for 2x is good enough after the mining dimension quarrys setup
If you use the resistive heater you can change the amount of energy it uses (the prompt in the gui) and the more energy you put in, the more heat you get out. I think the max heat is 1250FE/tick, although you can set it higher, it won't heat more past that iirc.
If you're producing sodium then surely you don't need salt, you could just use the sodium instead of having to get rid of it all the time? I don't know. I've never gone this deep into mechanism before I suaully just use it for early game ore duping and power
Wish I watched this before I did what I did. I automated salt with salty bees and made my brine that way and honestly it’s so slow I’m about to make the thermal evaporator 😩🤦♂️
I actually use a sink in my all the mods 9 series 😄 they are fantastic and dont require a pump or power. I wanted to use a traditional water source here just to showcase that it needs water, regardless of what source. I would have liked to have mentioned it, though.
blame the change between 1.16 > 1.18 when they decided ore drops as raw chunks instead of ore blocks but on the plus side the drop rate is effected by fortune enchant with fortune 3 you can get between 3-6 raw ore per ore block mined
You can also x5 ores with industrial foregoing, the downside of that version is that, you need a running mobfarm to produce liquid meat and a stasis chamber to optain ether gas from a wither.
1.Sooo this video is klickbait!!! There was no x5 ore- production at all! If you can call it that way, it was a "x4" but that still depends on how many raw ore chunks you get out of 1 Ore! Mekanism assumes that you get 3 raw ore out of each ore. If you find a way to get more(for example using fortune or silktouch and than squeezing the ore in the "mechanical squeezer") 2.Also mentioning: the heater that works with energy: you can type an amount of RF you want it to use! The more rf you use the more it will heat up. If you dont produce enough rf/t for it than it uses what it gets 3.The max hight of a brine tower is 18 blocks i believe and you need 4 advanced solar panels for it. But that doesnt use the energy of the solar panels. I like to connect a electrical heater to these solar panels and use all the energy for an extra heat boost. 4. Idk if this knowledge is outdated but i still want to mention it(pls correct me if its outdated): -max size Brine towers heat up faster in deserts -the corner blocks of the brine tower need to be normal blocks and cannot be valves
The struggle is real. A lot of mods have very dated documentation nowadays. Good job on figuring this out and making a solid tutorial.
Thank you for the kind words 🙏 Hope it helped!
12:35 there is a button with label idle on the left, you can change it to dumping excess to deal with sodium
9:22 the resistive heater can be set to a specific energy usage by typing in a number for more heat, if I remember correctly
Just checked it out and it still works, excellent tip!
This is one of the best setups I've seen for early mid game.
The best step by step I ever saw about mekanism ore multiplier, sane a lot of my doubts
very good wish this existed years ago, straight to the point and shows you what specifically mechincism needs for it's things

best tutorial iv seen for this set up everyone else makes it so complicated when its doesnt need to be
Thx for the new ore processor method. This is a great Christmas present so I’ll sub to make it even.
