For my ATM 9 world, which is around 250 days ATM, I started with a heat generator, then quickly switched to solar generator(around blazing level) early-to-mid game. Once I finished the first mekanism quest line, then I went for turbine power and an ender cell to wirelessly power it.
Extreme Reactors with Turbines are also super satisfying to look at. The sight of a turbine spinning up for the first time after all the work that goes into building it, is a great feeling... in my opinion, far better than throwing fuel into a single block and walking away.
I use the Mekanism Fusion Reactor for that. I embedded the Reactor in my wall in my main base's main floor and its just cool to look seeing it producing power when you walk into! Reminds me of the good old Draconic Battery
@@nicz7694 the draconic battery is much cooler, imo it resembles an actual fusion reactor more than the mekanism one even though it is not a power generator.
@@s3nluo It looks cooler but I have to disagree that it looks more than an actual fusion reactor since it features an actual Hull that the Draconic Battery is missing. I love thermal if i’m going to go the tech route because it has the amazing fluxbore, which is easy to upgrade, never runs out of durability, and doesn’t consume a lot of power because you’re going to find a portable power solution that has plenty of power for the fluxbore quite quickly. It doesn’t have the best power generation by far, but it is a good start if you’re looking for an early game system to run your fluxbore.

Also I gotta say I love McJty's mods (in this video: RFTools Power and Deep Resonance) and they're honestly extremely underrated for how cool they are.
Good watch, I always end up going Mekanism just due to its late game potential, but it does require a lot of work. Once you have it set up though, you never need to think about power ever again I would personally put it above powah just because the material costs for each are similar but mekanism is by far better generation wise. Having Extreme Reactors as #1 is fair though, I always make one of those early game, but the resource requirement at the end game is also similar to mekanism so I just go with that Basically, end game resource requirement is similar for all 3 if you want to get over 100 million rf/t with powah being nearly impossible to reach that number. If you get high enough in gregtech, you will actually start to need this type of power requirement. Or if you want to create the ATM star
in most modpacks early to mid game i liked to go with Immersive Engineering. starting with water wheels, Then Thermoelectric Generators, they are quite cheep and fully passive. you can stack them easly in the floor, and if you can change the water & lava for blue ice & Uranium(or any substitute like Yellorium etc.). and then in mid game a Diesel Generator running on Biodiesel. i always used hemp seeds for plant oil and sugarcane for ethanol in garden cloches. it's quite expensive though because you need Industrial Squeezer, Fermenter, and Refinery + enough Garden Cloches to supply it. it also needs quite a bit of power to startup if out of fuel completely
It was a pain in "Age of Engineering" modpack xD I Highly reccomend it if you want chalanging tech modpack. But it's on minecraft 1.10.2.. There is a port to 1.12.2 named "Tech Expansion" but it is still old. but if you focused on progressing through mods instead of focusing on a lack of "new" minecraft content - It's Great, 90% of time i was just in my base so definietly not a modpack for anyone seeking adventure xd
new sub here! Thanks for all the ranks ans explaning, my ADHD head can bearly decide what to do what to use on those mod packs. Incredible series! can wait for all to get the most of the modpack!
ad astra sounds like a crazy flavor win if you build a colony themed thing that makes it look like some villagers (if they can survive, idk i havent played atm9 that far yet) are running a colony, but in reality it just wirelessly pumps some extra power back to the overworld
One thing to note with immersive is that in atm 9 there are some items that you can make fairly easy to just strike a bunch of lightning at the rods, such as powah's charged snowball. Idk if this works, but I don't see why it wouldnt.
People were really inspired by Extra Utilities' rainbow generator, huh shocked it didn't return in Generator Galore since it mostly consists of the ones that mod had
I agree 100% with this tierlist. i used to stick with mekanism for years and then switched to extreme reactors for mid game then late game a mix of extreme and mekanism reactor and never tried powah. Powah can become EXTREMELY op once you can dish out those thermal generators like nothing.
Worth noting about the Nether Star Generator: The Hostile Neural Network actually improves the module used every time it's processed. It takes a while, but you don't actually have to kill the wither more than it's required to get it to Basic.
Ayo very nice vid, personally id consider renewability of the power options at a higher as those are a big deal in my opinion. Like reactors are nice, but making sure you have the fuel at all times depends a lot on the pack. i tend , personally, to overbuild my farm so i can make sure i ahve have multiple gas burners running at max speed for example.
Create new age can be suprisingly good on some modpacks combined with biofuel generator from foregoing. It's an easy way to superheat the boiler and the more expensive the other generators become the better this one gets as it's very often overlooked
Me and a couple friends really like this mod pack so who set's up power is usually to who want's jet packs the most and I made a ~1700 thermal passive gens from power and I will always ride or die that mod for me it's number one for set it and forget it. Great vid btw!
Yeah, I settled for Osmium tools because they acted as an in between for iron and diamond tools, being a tool created with incredibly common ores for how durable they are.
Nitro Reactors from Powah are harder to max out, but definitely better than the soul lava. I have 16 Nitro Reactors and each one generates 240 kFE/t. If you get into mystical agriculture, you can automate all resources. I also used dry ice. Because I didn't know soul lava was found in caves, they served me very well.
this actually helpful to guidrs the progression for my custom modpacks too! especially mine will be very foccused into building and teraforming since the world is flat(yes, flat world is somewhat more interesting than void imo)with almost bo way to get your usual stuffs
I love using create. 3x3x4 tank with 9 blaze burners with straw. Then 9 engines, full speed and 9 alternator's creating 3,2kfe It's a pretty good start. Create mod pump+mekanism pipes= unlimited lava.
The thing in ATM specifically is you can very easily set up a mystical agriculture farm and autocrafter to grow uranium for your extreme reactors and never have to fuss about fuel again
i 100% agree with S tier, idrc about anything else honestly. extreme reactors as soon as a steady supply of uranium comes in, then upgrade to a few nitro reactors, then turbine, fission then fusion. though ive never used fusion it looks like a very endgame thing
Extreme Reactors (and its predecessor, Big Reactors) is a classic, it used to be way more popular and known (at least, i think it was) and is great. Simple but powerful.
I always end up having trouble deciding if I want to use a powerful power generation system like Powah or a fun one like Iron Furnaces. I also love to use Create’s power generation simply because it has a very special place in my heart due to being so charming.
Honestly i keep telling everyone eztreme reactors is the best power mod but they never believe me. Gonna havw to share your video around as it quite simply explains the differences and advantages it has
just wanna say that the chips from hostile neural networks do actually go up in quality each cycle, you only need the base tier as long as you're willing to wait for it to upgrade to self aware!
Mekanism’s passive starter gens (advanced solar panels and wind turbines) are enough to see you through until you can make a reactor, but the mid game options are pretty lackluster since the gas burning generators got a massive nerf. I feel like there’s so much recursive crafting in Powah that it’s too tedious before you have automatic crafting options like AE2 (midgame) or Refined Storage (early-midgame) and honestly, I never used it.
You missed the cyclic Basically I always build the matter generator about a hundred of them next to my enderman farm and use unlimited ender pearl to generate power.
At first I thought this ranking system was based on using the blocks of just one mod, meaning for rating, say, Thermal Expansion dynamos, you'd only use Thermal Expansion blocks, but even though it may be an early game power source, the Railcraft Boiler can power a bunch of steam dynamos for some very consistent mid-game power, and I feel that was overlooked here. I mean, yes, you can't do much with just TE blocks, but it has good synergy with other mods, because, despite being weak, dynamos are relatively easy to craft and scale up. Also, does anyone remember the 25 MFe/t beehive generator in 1.12.2? Although, back then, we were still talking in RF/t. I feel like beehive generators have some potential here.
I notice that most of the lowest ranked ones are for mods that have generators only so that the mod has a native power generation system, and don't stack up so well in modpacks which honestly is completely fine. Big/Bigger/Extreme Reactors has been my go-to for quite literally years. I have also written control programs with Computercraft for more efficient fuel usage and wanted to get my money's worth lol. I have also used the Mekanism biofuel and then gas generator before. But the higher tier stuff I've usually found just annoying to set up. I only recently discovered Powah and have been really enjoying it, though I do find the extreme ease of it a big of a shame sometimes. In Create: Astral the Create generator was the only power source (Not the multiblock ones) and it straight up sucked. I was running them at max speed and it could power maybe one block. On a custom modpack we had only the Ad Astra and Create multiblock generators. I'd best describe them as anaemic. In UniversIO the Pneumaticraft generator was the only power option. I used the advanced liquid one with refined oils and with a redstone limit switch worked quite well.
6:06 you can actually have a bunch of mycelial reactors, you just have to have the same amount of other generators running. I'm currently making 325 million FE/t with them.
I think mixing mechanism and powah is a good way of playing through a standard playthrough because they cover each others basis. Powah is amazing up until you can get that 200 million FE/t from a fusion reactor.
16:30 unless they changed how extreme reactors processes coolant, there is only coolant need in block spaces between the rods and the reactor wall(the corners do nothing) and liquid coolant is only effective per source block, so that destabilized redstone was only giving 1/3 the cooling it could have done. Again, this is assuming the mod author didn't overhaul the entire cooling/reactivity work in the mod from prior versions.
I would need to double check the corner situation but I do now that flowing redstone also works as coolant as I checked the direct mod files. However flowing redstone is slightly weaker than the source block version ^^
TE Disenchantment Dynamos are super easily scalable in the midgame with apotheosis spawner shenanigans. Good enough to carry until you can just go infinite on Powah through crops and bees.

Good watch, I always end up going Mekanism just due to its late game potential, but it does require a lot of work. Once you have it set up though, you never need to think about power ever again
I would personally put it above powah just because the material costs for each are similar but mekanism is by far better generation wise. Having Extreme Reactors as #1 is fair though, I always make one of those early game, but the resource requirement at the end game is also similar to mekanism so I just go with that
Basically, end game resource requirement is similar for all 3 if you want to get over 100 million rf/t with powah being nearly impossible to reach that number. If you get high enough in gregtech, you will actually start to need this type of power requirement. Or if you want to create the ATM star
YESSS! THANK YOU!
You're welcome!! :D
I've been waiting for this!!
Great work, big thanks!
Glad you like it! :D
These videos are very good! I'd love to see more like for processing ores. Best tools etc.
Oh God! EpicEnchants just dropped another masterpiece.
Thanks for the always good content!
Thanks a lot munraitoo! :D
Content is King and I try to keep it that way! ^^
Extreme reactors is my favorite power mod , glad you saw the wonderfulness of it. S tier was where it deserved to be. :)
in most modpacks early to mid game i liked to go with Immersive Engineering. starting with water wheels,
Then Thermoelectric Generators, they are quite cheep and fully passive. you can stack them easly in the floor, and if you can change the water & lava for blue ice & Uranium(or any substitute like Yellorium etc.).
and then in mid game a Diesel Generator running on Biodiesel. i always used hemp seeds for plant oil and sugarcane for ethanol in garden cloches. it's quite expensive though because you need Industrial Squeezer, Fermenter, and Refinery + enough Garden Cloches to supply it. it also needs quite a bit of power to startup if out of fuel completely
I didn't know that advanced generators were more efficient for ethylene. Thanks! will probably use this in my world.
Such solid content man 👏
People were really inspired by Extra Utilities' rainbow generator, huh
shocked it didn't return in Generator Galore since it mostly consists of the ones that mod had
Bee generator not being B is a crime. It is right there in the name
Incroyable vidéo, énorme travail, continue comme !!!
Thanks, picked up a few useful tips in this one.
Me and a couple friends really like this mod pack so who set's up power is usually to who want's jet packs the most and I made a ~1700 thermal passive gens from power and I will always ride or die that mod for me it's number one for set it and forget it. Great vid btw!
Hahaha that's what I call commitment! :D
love the endergenic generators. also Mekanism fusion to generate steam for extreme turbines to generate more power than you can spend.
Time to grab popcorn and learn da wayz
To be fair at 27:38 , the Thermoelectric Generator can produce 40 FE/t if you cover all 4 sides with hot/cold materials.
Great comparison tho. :)
I'd love to see tools! I used to always go for Tinker's Construct back when that existed, so usually now im lost
Yeah, I settled for Osmium tools because they acted as an in between for iron and diamond tools, being a tool created with incredibly common ores for how durable they are.
I specialize in playing mekanism skyblocks and yeah the end game power is absolutely insane, not to mention the absolutely insane power storage
Immersive engineering lighting generator plus the lightning staff from reliquary with chicken farm is crazy power
Then 9 engines, full speed and 9 alternator's creating 3,2kfe
It's a pretty good start. Create mod pump+mekanism pipes= unlimited lava.
The thing in ATM specifically is you can very easily set up a mystical agriculture farm and autocrafter to grow uranium for your extreme reactors and never have to fuss about fuel again
This content is so good!
Thanks a lot!
I definitely understood immediately that the gem (20:16) was supposed to represent an arrow...
i 100% agree with S tier, idrc about anything else honestly.
extreme reactors as soon as a steady supply of uranium comes in, then upgrade to a few nitro reactors, then turbine, fission then fusion. though ive never used fusion it looks like a very endgame thing
Extreme Reactors (and its predecessor, Big Reactors) is a classic, it used to be way more popular and known (at least, i think it was) and is great. Simple but powerful.
advanced gas turbine -> mek fusion has been my go-to for the last 3 atm modpacks I've played
ive only ever really used solar panels in the Full daytime dimension so it never stops and its allways been enough for anything the game needs.
Gonna havw to share your video around as it quite simply explains the differences and advantages it has
The apothic gem for an arrow 😂🥰
Never knew about Mekanism's potential past the melon farm, 200m FE/t is crazy
Currently making 325 FE/t with mycelial reactors. The setup is arguably easier than the mekanism Fusion reactor.
just wanna say that the chips from hostile neural networks do actually go up in quality each cycle, you only need the base tier as long as you're willing to wait for it to upgrade to self aware!
@EpicEnchants , the mekanism heat generator can also be lavalogged for a cleaner look, but idk power-wise
Mekanism, I love for early game. It's pretty easy to get those turbines as loot rewards. Pretty much my go to for very early power.
Очень классный цикл видео. Буду ждать следующую часть)
The goat!!!🐐🔥🙏
You missed the cyclic
Basically I always build the matter generator about a hundred of them next to my enderman farm and use unlimited ender pearl to generate power.
I am sorry what mod is that?
From what it sounds like it seems similar to the Endergenic, where you throw and catch the Enderpearla?
What r you talking about bro?
Cyclic evaporation generators are broken too
Whats the matter generator?
What software do you use for your video editing, it looks great :)
I am using DaVinci Resolve its great :D
But I also have a lot of Adobe After effects experience ^^
@@EpicEnchants Studio version?
Good enough to carry until you can just go infinite on Powah through crops and bees.
what is the name of the block that you use to show FE/t values?
Bump. Couldn't find the answer either
