I mean what as he gonna do? Block? I mean, I guess. It was a run up the middle so blocking the cornerback wouldn’t have been as important as a run to the outside, but in that scenario I’d prefer the QB to just stand there than to risk getting injured. And besides, he a quarterback, it’s not like he’s gonna get a block for more than like, half a second
My favorites are the "you have to touch the guy with the ball" and the "you have to touch the ball" football touchdowns. Perfect knowledge and awareness of the rules is critical! 😂
As a Dolphins fan the Cutler one just kills me every time. We hated him here because it was so obvious he was just here to collect a check and then leave.
I think the Jordan Evans thing was that he thought he was going out of bounds in the moment and didn’t want a personal foul penalty. I wouldn’t call it poor effort I would call it overthinking things
This reminds me of Highschool football, we would watch post game films on Monday during lunch. One Monday our coach spent 30 just minutes just rewinding and playing a specific set of play in slow motion. It showed an exhausted overweight front lineman never leaving his 3 point stance for 3 critical overtime plays in a row. Afterwards in front of the entire team the coach told him to clear out his locker by the end of the day. That kid went into a deep depression. A few months later he suddenly passed away. They said he had some congenital heart defect. Overweight, anti-social and unattractive by Mean Girl standards, Football was his identity, we all said he died from a broken heart.
That's heartbreaking and crappy coaching for not recognizing the kid needed to be subbed out in-game then absolutely horrible coaching for how they treated him after.
My high school football coach was an ass and overweight himself. Just yelled and cussed at us without rhyme or reason and built no respect between coach and players. It’s no wonder why we sucked as so many kids quit the team or didn’t even play because of him. It was a very negative and toxic environment. Football wasn’t fun, but we would dominate in little leagues and JV. I saw that the most successful football coaches were those who loved and respected his players, but was also hard on them when necessary (to a certain and healthy point). It’s a shame that high school football coaches take it so seriously. Many of them need to relax and TEACH, rather than just yell and degrade.
I could understand not diving in if it's early in the game or in an earlier round of the playoffs to avoid injury. But in the Super Bowl, with less than 5 minutes left and could possibly win the game on that drive, and even if you don't, you may not get another chance. You gotta go for it. Worst thing would be that your back-up plays for the rest of the game.
I think he backed off because he thought that a Bronco already had possession, if you look at the replay a Bronco got his hand on the ball and that was when Cam backed off. And he went for it when he saw that the Bronco missed the ball. Not defending what he did, but it does make sense to a degree

Had a fellow black man told him what the white guy did there wouldn't have been an argument. I've even talked to some blacks who admit most blacks are racist towards whites and any criticism from a white person is taken as a threat.
I assume that he thought he stepped out of bounds but he's not so far out of bounds to where you don't at least make sure he gets tackled. Obviously if you try to hit a guy when he's 3 feet out of bounds that could be a penalty but not when it could go either way.

I don't get that. If it's a punt & it lands in the endzone isn't that a touchback?... If it's a kick off you have to down it even if it lands in the endzone or am I just mistaken?
n!x theobserver At the time, if it landed in the endzone and doesn’t go out of bounds, you had to down it for the touchback. After this, rule changes that if the ball lands in the endzone, it’s a touchback no matter what.
