- Happy new year, everyone! It seems right that this goes up one year after my first Mega Man X song. It's been a very up and down year, but these covers have consistently been a highlight. We're at the halfway point now, so here's to another year of Mega Man X!

Existential crisis runs in the family. Delightful. Jokes aside, this rendition is marvelous. So entrancing and full of poetry, as always.
Wow! You've managed to turn one of the most happy themes from the franchise into a sad song. I can imagine this taking place after X gets rebuilt in X5 after battle with Gamma Sigma, in where X, in the ruins of cities destroyed by Eurasia, asks his father to forgive him for that he's not able to bring everlasting peace to the world, the purpose he was created for. I also like how Dr. Light Capsule theme and Zero Theme 2 are playing the background. Nice touch!
This reminds me of how the Megas did Continue. You took a happy sounding song and turn it into one that reflects on the tragedy that comes upon X in the war against Sigma, and him seeking comfort in his long lost father. I think there's an amount of relatability in that. Maybe someone out there is feeling the same way X does in the song. Maybe not in similar circumstances (or at least hopefully not).
Edit: I didn't say it at first for some reason, but the "I only want to hear your voice" line really spoke to me. It reminded me of how I was feeling after my grandmother passed away and I still find it hard to believe she's not here anymore.
This song was definitely inspired by Continue both in execution and in storytelling. I wrote and rewrote the words while I was in the throes of Covid and really struggling to find any kind of strength. As such, this one’s a little more personal than some of the other songs I’ve done.
I wasn't expecting you to do the password theme but I'm glad you did. You managed to convey X's inner turmoil pretty effectively using a soundtrack that's usually more upbeat and positive. It's as if X is pondering whether pressing continue is even worth it despite how far he's come.
i think the more chill tracks from the Mega Man X series don't get enough attention at all, they're some of my favorite songs from the games. great cover! It really encapsulates X's hesitation and more pacifistic side, as well as his urge to not fight (at least, that's what i got from this, haha.)
Thank you! This track was leaning more on the original side, not adhering so tightly to the game’s arrangements. X has been put into a truly unwinnable situation and having to face it mostly alone is taking its toll.
@2:06 is a part of this song that especially sting when compared to your Dr. Light song. That one shows what he had in mind when he sealed X away. Yet X is seeing things differently because he didn't have that song. X wouldn't be this way if he had your Dr. Light song to help him see what was in his father's mind when he was sealed away.
I don't think X could have ever done anything without Zero, from the beginning to the end Zero was the key to X's journey and growth, their friendship is insane and so strong, we don't even see much of it cuz cutscenes were not much of a thing in older games but the few there are, their interactions and dialogue alongside The day of sigma movie provide more than enough to figure.
Having lost my own father nearly 13 years ago and my mother two thirds of a year ago at the time of my typing this, I know all too well the pain of this kind of loss.

Not gonna lie. This made me absolutely cry the first few times I listened to it.
One more thing some games suggest that Zero and Sigma is haunted by visions of Dr. Wily. So maybe something related to their relationship to him could be fun to explore in a song. Not certain which games songs would fit this idea. But listening to this made me think of that. Fun Fact there was going to be a game set in this world that had Zero be the lead and he would find Dr. Wily capsules. So originally he was going to have more frequent encounters with him. So that could also be a part of the song.

What I especially love about this song is thst the War X Ensures was the Bi Product of Dr. Wily. The entire 21XX Sigma Wars was because of Wily. And it was Light who, although unintentionally, crushed his chances at fixing his mistakes with Dr. Wily and lead him to villainy.
It's rather sad when combined with the lyrics to this song. X didn't have to live in a time of severe War and Violence. If not for Dr. Wily, he would live in the peace he can never get.
Perfect way to start the year.

this is one of the few musics in mmx i never really cared much for and you managed to make it into a new master piece !

i do wonder , if at one point you decide to cover Sting Chameleon , which back story/lore do you plan to use ?
in the manga he was pretty much a calculated sadist that had fun tormenting X was fully willing to use others for his own amusement and actually one of the few that gotten VERY close to actually killing X if it wasnt that he ended up toying too much with X. even if you did full 180 like you did with armored armadillo, id be looking forward for it because on that one you had done such a fanstastic song ! im just asking out of curiousity lol

Honestly i think if x woke in the classic series he would've stopped wily and prevented all the wars
He could have, but on the other hand, he was sealed away to make sure he had perfect morality. It’s possible that X being awakened early could have made things worse.
