As a long-time resident of Vegas, allow me to give you a little advice. If/when you go outside, ALWAYS carry a bottle of water, wear a hat and sunglasses. The sun burns here, beating down on your head. You can get heat exhaustion very quickly. You stay cooler by pouring a little water on your head occasionally. If you have a refrigerator in your room, freeze a couple of bottles of water so you will have cold water instead of warm. The best places to eat are not on the Strip. The best places to gamble are also not on the strip. Ask the locals where to eat and play. We all have our favorites. I will say the Buffet at the South Point is really good. I'm guessing that's where you are. The South Point is the place for all Western themes like rodeos and Mustang sales. At any rate, wherever you are, WELCOME TO VEGAS!!! Have a great time!!!!

Wow, you sure have a wonderful way of telling a story. I love how you showed a pattern and switched out the horses as you discussed the class. And I really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes stuff too. You have a true gift of storytelling. I'm so happy that you found your way to UA-cam. 😊

The woman on the blue roan, there's a first time for everything. Completing the pattern, even with the slower gait on the circles, showed me that she's very invested in working with her mustang.

I started a comment but must have hit a wrong key and it disappeared. I'm LOVING this site. I stumbled upon it around two months ago and have shared it with other family members and friends. I'm in VT. One of my sisters had some horses, but I had little to do with them. Until I watched your videos, I had NO idea what is involved in the care and training of these extraordinary creatures. Your style of sharing your knowledge and experience is so entertaining and educational. I love that you include Tiny & Huckleberry, horse manure, and all the other countless chores that are required in caring for those horses fortunate enough to find their way to you for care and training. I consider you to be a sort of horse whisperer, able to tap into the individual needs, fears, and strengths of each horse. It's easy to see why they love and trust you so much. Keep the videos coming!

These mustangs are gorgeous and such variety! It's amazing to me how great they all performed and in such a foreign, totally unnatural environment to them. Truly astonishing to think that they were absolutely wild not long ago. And how willing and brave they are to approach an obstacle that looks scary to them and to proceed over it. Thank you for taking us along on this adventure. I don't know that I could have resisted not snuggling with that friendly one in the stall.

Buying on a trip tip: Buy it, box it, ship it home. A lot of hotels quietly offer shipping services. A scale is all you need outside of the packaging since you can buy shipping online and have package picked up if hotel does not ship. I use this a lot to buy several good quality shirts cheap in tourist trap towns.

This has always been a dream of mine, getting and training a BLM horse. I used to compete with dogs and discovered I'm not good at competing. I love the training, I love showing off just for fun but when it comes to competition, I consider second place first among the losers. Not the best character point so I stopped competing and had a lot more fun training and helping other people train. I'm too old now to risk taking on a wild horse, but when I get my land I might just get a nice older horse like Ziggy and teach them some new things. This was really fun to watch, thank you for bringing us!

I have had the same reaction to competition and being measured. I have always been more comfortable letting the animals I train make the judgement of my work.
All of the animals I have had and worked with, we combined to give the best of what we could provide to each other and our bonds and partnerships were the only measurement that I cared to grade.

I did a Poker Run in the Bitteroot and one of the people was riding a mustang I noticed him crossing Lost Horse Creek bravely, then I was mersemized in how he came out and moved on. I swear, it appeared that he just danced lightly across the earth, like his feet didn't even touch the ground Never forgot that scene.

yes, her channel gets to be depressing and I don't see the need for her to use vulgar language, it doesn't look good on a young lady at all. That said, she is correct about what she shows and quite possibly she has been instrumental in helping people steer clear of some of the so called "trainers". She gave a very nice shout out to one of my favorite lady trainers, Shae with Free Spirit Equestrian, she makes friends with any new horse she rescues or buys for her school. Just very recently her and Kyle her hubby went to a very well set up auction in Ohio, it was mainly Amish showing and selling there and I was happy to see that many of the Amish have changed the way they train considerably and it is helping to turn the bad vibes that were going on for many years. It is the younger Amish that are doing things very differently. Shae knows the Amish trainers that do things the way she approves of. The horse she bought was a Missouri Foxtrotter cross Friesian just coming 4yrs gelding tri color GORGEOUS boy that her husband fell head of heels in love with , he could not stop smiling and even when they got into an exciting and quickly escalating bidding war, he knew he wanted the horse and wow, they paid handsomely for him, but after seeing him at their place, he already is exhibiting good things. I loved his conformation and his coloring was over the top beautiful. The sire was full Friesian so he can be registered with the Heritage registry . Take a peek at him CC if you have a moment to go to her channel on utube, Free Spirit Equestrian. I would be head over heels to have ever come across such a unique horse for myself.

    What a treat!
When I was a little girl my Mother would take me and my younger sibs to the Central Canada Exhibition in Ottawa Ontario in August.
My fav visit was the Horse show ….it was always so exciting for this city girl! You brought me back there with this video.
No wonder you ‘needed’ to attend this event in Vegas . Bless your hubby for taking care of things at home so you could attend.
I was absolutely enthralled by your detailed description of … well.. everything! Imo you did a better job than 99% of sports announcers.
I chuckled when you said that you found items in that supply store that you can’t get at home ( the collapsable buckets) because I spied the jolly balls with a handle that I can’t get locally!
Can’t wait for next video! ….and really hope you get a Mustang and enter next year! 🐴🥰🐴🥰

The best of what the human and horse can accomplish together is heroic work and a high standard of excellence. Its praise should be recognized.

Thanks for showing us this, I've watched other Mustang competitions and it's satisfying to see how well they have accepted their conversion from wild to useful and dependable.

It's Good To turn wild horses into regular equines!! It takes lots of hard work but it's worth EVERYTHING!! Leave it to The Clever Cowgirl to let us know about their mysterious mustangs!!

I am overwhelmed by how much training it would take to get ready for that.

I really enjoyed tagging along with you, CC, and appreciate all your explanations. The horses and their trainers did a phenomenal job which most definitely highlights their hard work and dedication. I did get quite a laugh while you were sleuthing the poop piles. Thank you, CC!

The only time I rode a horse was in Illinois at Sunnyside ranch where we could ride and have breakfast, meet the dogs. My favorite was Sunspot, a gentle horse that followed my commands and left me feeling refreshed and happy… This is almost fifty years ago and until I met you CC and saw your horses and Huckleberry and Tiny could I have imagined how much enjoyment I get from watching this channel and am looking forward to the next one tomorrow ❤❤❤

Man, it's amazing how calm those stalled horses were! Having had 2 daughters go through 4-H shows and High School Equestrian Team, many, many horses who have been bred and raised by people do not behave that well! That was the quietest barn I have ever seen! So impressive what they are doing in such a short amount of time. Not all looked like the smoothest gaits, but flying lead changes, get out of here! So cool, thanks for taking us along!

    That was great! Thank you.
On a high level of horsemanship here, I’d think it’s absolutely required. To train up a wild horse to this level so fast requires a lot of trust, and being a jerk to a mustang won’t get you very far. It certainly won’t get you across that scary bridge.

Being a jerk is noticed by any animal that is consciousness and they give back what they notice. ☘

Ugh, I *hate* the smoke migraine. And then you and your clothes positively *reek*. You have my sympathy. Thanks for bringing us to this competition! I particularly love how patient all the trainers were with their horses.

Super cute - I think it is rare that the horses you have met along the way haven't fallen into this category. Thanks for the interesting look into the lives of adopted mustangs.
