My friend and I grew up riding together and had several horses. We both trained and rode for years, we were very experienced riders. She was riding a horse she sold to a friend to help her out one day, the horse tripped in the arena and fell. My friend was thrown into the ground on her head. She had to be air lifted to a trauma hospital where it was confirmed she had suffered a traumatic brain injury. Thank God after a year in the hospital and many more in recovery, shes able to do most everything. She can’t ride anymore but she takes care of all her own needs and is doing well considering. She was not wearing a helmet. A helmet is like a safety belt in a car, it may not save you from everything but you stand a better chance at staying safe when you wear one. I’m glad you made the decision to wear yours. Hope you had a blast.
Sad story but good advice for safety in horsemanship!!
Reminds me of Yvonne on FH so scary.
@@rachelspellman5511yup that’s what I thought of also !!!
So sorry to hear about your friend, I also grew up around horses, my first horse was a painted Shetland she was a pistol. I was 9 years old. When I finally out grew her my dad got me a morgan & quarter horse. I rode her alot. Me & my brother who also a horse would go to the pond & jump off their butt's, swim in between their legs. Them was the good times. When I finally moved out of my parents house my dad sold her. He told me she had twins.
“I want my brains to remain where they belong.” Note to self…🤣🤣🤣
I’m really glad that you’re interested in keeping a horse for yourself to trail ride rather than rehabbing and selling them. You work so hard to care for your horses but Ziggy is the only one you can actually ride outside of an arena.
I think my next summer 2 or 3 of her horses could be able to go out for a ride. Can’t wait to see Scaroet !
That was so much fun!! Thank you for taking us along.♥️♥️
That looked like a lot of fun. Glad you were able to bring us along for the ride.
Wonderful, as a child reading Margarite Henry's books and Walter Farley's too, Arabians were my favorite. As an adult I was late (46) getting my own horse and my skills made me think that Arabians might be too much for me. In heaven I will ride them all.
I got my first Arab at 45. On my 3rd at 72😅Arabs are the best. You can find one that will be perfect.
PS, yes, you deserve your own steady, youngish, well trained go getter horse. I say go for it!
EXACTLY! What she said!❤
Thanks for taking us with you on your trail ride. Enjoyed the amazing views! ❤
Thanks for the tag-a-long. I really enjoyed the scenery and your monologue. it's been years since I last rode a horse ... I found my legs were no longer capable of 'bowing'. The scent of a horse and a cut field of hay and sunshine ... it is just about the perfect combination.
I'm sitting here, feeling a smile across my face and I can almost smell your horse, the hay and feel the sun. Thanks ... this was outstanding!
Absolutely wonderfully thought out comment! Thanks and thank you CC for this mind-blowing adventure.
Beautiful! Nothing compares to going for a boot through the fields this time of year. Thanks for taking us along. Gorgeous country.
What a fun day! Scout and Dakota were amazing!! So happy you were able to make it to the poker run and have some fun. Hope Ziggy's back recovers soon and thank you for taking us along! Great ride
I totally am agreeing, luvmypaso!!❤🐴🐎💕
This was so soothing to watch. I appreciate your kindness and concern for Scout. You did great.
Yeah! Helmets are important. Most 1/2 Arabians are saddlebred mix. They cross for size and flash. The Arabian shows recognize 1/2 as there is a registry.
Thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. So much love and gratitude for your beautiful life, your heart, your courage, your generosity and sharing stories so freely.
Every single word! Thank you for expressing how we all feel. Just beautifully said. ❤
Lovely video, CC! So glad you could enjoy your outing. Scout is fabulous. Thoroughly enjoyed the ride. 😀
What a great video of the trail ride, CC! Scout was a cutie! I couldn't get enough of her ears and how they perked up and "scanned" around. So cute! You sounded like you enjoyed yourself and I am happy you did and took us along. :) Dakota and Prairie were great companions, too, on the second leg. Great views of the rolling grassy hills, too! Thanks and Cheers!
Loved Scout…and Dakota.
The ride looked like it was wonderful.
I’m so glad you enjoyed yourself CC, and were able to escape some of the grief you’ve been experiencing recently.
Thanks for taking me along with you on this adventure!
She is beautiful. Enjoy.
My first horse as a teenager was a hotblooded little arabian gelding. He had a flying gait and an incredible amount of speed and energy. Looking back he was too much to handle, but I never met a smarter and more loyal animal than him.
Follow your bliss! No reason you can’t rehab horses and have a couple of nice riding horses. That’s what I did and loved every minute. Lovely vid.
“Thanks, Scout, I needed that,” said all of us.
I've had two Arabians in my life, and both were such Awesome trail horses. Dancer, Shamus and I were great partners. I miss them sorely. With fibromyalgia and at 73, I'm afraid my trail riding days are behind me. But I have wonderful memories of my boys. They started out wanting go places, and came back the same way. Both were very intelligent, and very easily trained. Both were stallions around 4 yrs of age, at purchase, and because I didn't have a place to keep a stallion I had to have both gelded. Neither were broke when I got them. Shamus had had a saddle on for about a week, before I picked him up. Both were very smart and easily picked up anything you asked of them. I miss them.😔💙
Thank you for taking us along, it was beautiful. ❤
Thank you so much for bringing us along with you and Scout. It was a fun ride for both of you. Gorgeous day. Gorgeous scenery. Gorgeous horse. Sounds pretty good to me.
That was wonderful 😊
The scenery, Scout, weather and the happiness in your voice - even if your butt was a cheese grater by the end 😄
How sweet of you and Dakota's human to ride with the mustang and her rider ❤
Who ever put on that ride did a fantastic job! So cool! I sure miss having horses after watching this.I vote for you to get a horse you can ride all day on. You have a lot of wonderful projects but having one that just gives you the feel of riding and relaxing with others and not working at it would be so good. As a horse to keep you focused on what your working towards with the others. I loved this whole day and I wasn't even there. A heart mending day. Happy Trails CC!
Absolutely CC should have a horse like Frisco Bill in his prime.
Yes!!!!!!!!!! I would love to see Ziggy get to that point, but I hope she gets a solid, trusty ride
It's not hard to fall in love with Arabians, they are wonderful horses.🥰
loved listening to the saddles squeaking, brought back great memories of when I used to ride.❤❤
So glad you were able to go and have fun. Scout and all the other horses were beautiful. Thanks for the video. Have a wonderful week.
Scout was such a good girl and the scenery was just beautiful | Thank you for the ride-a-long really enjoyed it | look forward to an update on your property search and the next video 🏇
Yes, me too and the ride and scenery and narration was perfect for my Saturday evening relaxation💕🥕🐴❤️
What a beautiful day, and what a beautiful horse! 🐎❤ I am so happy that you finally got to enjoy some wellness for the soul, you deserve it so much! 🌞❤❤❤
Go for it. Spend some time on yourself and "your" horse. I don't think that is selffish. So glad you got this ride in and it was so special. Thank you, Susan
What a beautiful ride, thank you for taking us with you. The organizers did a very good job, as well, prepping the trail. There is nothing like a full on gallop on an Arabian, that really looked like a blast!
I loved seeing you do something fun with friends! I don’t think it’s selfish to nurture and develop your own horses. You rescued all of them and work tirelessly on their behalf. Ziggy is an awesome trail horse - I have always hoped you keep him💕 Thank you for sharing your ride and beautiful Montana!!
Love Scout. So nice and light-footed.
What a fun day for you!! Scout was so pretty and it was great to see you having fun.
I hope Ziggy’s back feels better soon. 💛
Great to see you getting out and about. What a treat to go on a trail with the perky Scout through such gorgeous scenery.
Gorgeous camera work, clean, sharp and very stable. Nice work
This comment touched on the photography aspect and its true for me, as well! TFS, CC.
On that first gallop you took it transported me back many years to when I used to ride a thoroughbred mare that my mother rescued after it flunked out of racing. What I like best about your channel though is following the progress of the horses you rehabilitate and the techniques you apply to get results. Thank you for producing these wonderful videos.
That was great! So glad you and Scout were a good match for a day of competition and fun.
I'm so glad you had a great time. Scout looks like an amazing horse, Arabians are just on another level.
I absolutely Love the sound of the saddle even though my heart almost hurt from longing riding a horse again, it’s many years now since. And Scout, what a lovely horse, and love her beautiful ears. Many thanks for this video, even though my heart almost broke. ❤😊❤
So glad you had so much fun on the trail! Scout‘s ears 😍 And the scenery was stunning, wow! It was so kind of all of you to escort the rider with her Mustang.
My, that was awesome. I'd asbolutely love to visit Montana one day. Thank you for taking us along!
Thank you for recoding this so I was able to imagine riding along with you. Grew up in Wyoming and miss the mountains, streams, big sky… still ride in Ca but what you showed on your ride made me homesick. You are a very special person and I love to watch you your dog cat and rescue horses. Thank you so much.
Just time to make a nice cup of tea and settle down to watch 🎉 ❤
Thank you.! Wonderful ride, glad i was able to enjoy it.🐴🐴⭐️⭐️
You and Scout made a great team and you both have a new friend ❤
What a beautiful and fun ride! Thank you for sharing with all of us. I’m glad you were able to have such a special day! Take CC. ❤
That was fabulous. What a treat. I learn so much from your trail rides. Hope Ziggy feels better. 🐎 ❤❤❤❤
Thanks!
So happy for you to be able to enjoy riding!!!❤
Oh you were flying!! What a fun time!
FUN!! Felt like I was riding along with ya,my legs hurt🤗
WOOO HOOO! What a fun ride! I had a registered half Arabian when I was young. He was 16 hands. Such wonderful memories of riding him bareback through forest trails....wild and free. Thank you CC. Your channel is wonderful!
That sky was just beautiful
That was great! The horses were wonderful and the scenery was fabulous! Glad you had a fun day!😘❤️🙏🏻✨
She really reaches out and covers ground in that trot !!
❤ Yessssss exactly reminding you again why you own horses ❣️ Obviously you badly need your “exercises” too - not just your horses 😉 Would love to see you taking one of your youngsters for longterm ❤
thanks for the ride!!!!
I would love to see Ziggy be your trusty mount that you can take out and enjoy rides on. If not, I hope you have another one. I LOVE watching you hit the countryside. I think a lot of us live vicariously through you. Especially love seeing the Montana landscape through those sweet ears
Thank you so much, taking us with you on your wonderful ride❤! All my best for you and your family 🎠🐴🐴🐴🐴🐕🐱🐈 🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🌸🏵️🌻
What a day!!!!!❤❤
great. ziggy is a great looking horse.
It was fun watching you have fun! Scout looked like a blast to ride. I had a Morgan-Arabian that could go all day...back when I could go all day. Glad you brought us along on your adventure!
what a blast! she looks like she was super fun.
WOW! What scenery!
So glad he's out got to get out and enjoy yourself❤
Oops! Glad YOU got out and had some fun and relived some happy memories! Thanks for sharing! ☺️
What a fun day!!!!
Wonderful to come along like this.
I was surprised to see it all again.
Grateful 🙌
great content, beautiful scenery and an amazing trail horse, Scout is beautiful. I am so thrilled that you had an awesome day out.
What a joy to go on this trip with you CC I imagined so well the fun of trotting and galloping on those fields and would have loooved to be with you guys! Letting the horse go is fastest it can get, we call "courrir ventre a terre" meaning litterally "running belly on the floor" or "belly to the ground" ; )) and those fields were perfect for this type of 'letting loose'
What a great description! 🏇❤
What a beautiful area to ride.
How fun!!
Looking forward to this 🎉
Wow! This is so beautiful and Scout is awesome! I’m glad you had such a fun day ❤
Thanks
Chuckle, now you're understanding Arabians ❤. Scout was cute reading the signs as you traveled. Smart girl..I hope you get to ride her more often to get you in shape for Zig man..Tucker saddles are amazing saddles 😍. What a beautiful countryside to wander through ❤
As a teenager I used to ride on a pony ranch and they had a fly-bitten Welsh/Arab mare called Sheila, who was as fast as the wind, it was wonderful to gallop with her ❤🐎❤. We kids had such a great time there. Thank you for bringing back these sweet memories! 🙏❤❤❤
What a joy this was to watch! It is so much fun to see the trail from your POV. ❤️❤️❤️
Scout seems like the perfect horse for you, CC. We’ll see if you look at some Arabian crosses in future auctions. Love the scenery. Thanks for sharing.
Love your videos. Hope Ziggy feels better soon.
Absolutely Beautiful!! Thank you!!
Happy Day to everyone!
Beautiful mare you got to play with, I'd definitely say the other half is saddlebred just from her movement. Hope Ziggy feels better soon
So nice to see you enjoying a fun trail…twice! You definitely deserve some time to be selfish and enjoy all of your hard work for a while, CC. Thanks for bringing us along ❤
Beautiful National Show Horse!
Thanks, I can no longer ride. I’m glad you took me along!
Beautiful
That was awesome CC. I really enjoyed the time with you doing this ride. Wishing I could have been there in person riding along side you. I definitely would have loved it. Just so you know I haven't forgotten your own horses. Please give each and everyone of them a hug and kiss from me. Oh and a treat too lol. Much love and respect to you. ❤
the springy comment made me laugh - the barn i worked at had a weird thing for taking in harness horses and turning them into saddle horses and the smaller riders were practically drawing straws to see who had to put up with the hackney pony's trot that day. i was the tallest rider so i got put on the haflinger who was nearly as wide as he was tall - still not sure that was an improvement
That was so fun, thank you for the adventure!
Nice endurance mare
Looks like a great ride.
Thanks for the Montana scenery and a beautiful adventure !❤❤❤
Really enjoyed the ride with you.
You do a wonderful job with your horses. Couldn’t you pick one of them for more intense work so you can ride your own. Ziggy is older, you have some younger, lovely horses!! Beautiful video!
Wonderful video!! The changing terrain, the mountains, fall colours. Picture Perfect. Glad you and Scout had a fab day .
what a nice mare. :)
This event looks so fun, makes me miss riding so much
