  • Mike Drop Podcast Episode 51: Mike Glover - The Fieldcraft Survival Expert - Former Green Beret, CIA Contractor, Owner of Fieldcraft Survival
    The inspiration that comes from speaking with real life heroes is impossible to quantify. I continue to be humbled by the caliber of individuals that are willing to share their story with me. In sitting down with former green beret/unit member and owner of Fieldcraft Survival, Mike Glover, I continue to be amazed. After 20 years of service to this country in the highest of capacities, we talk about his experience as tomb guard, green beret, and consummate badass. More importantly, we talk about how those experiences shaped who he is and how he brings that knowledge to your everyday citizen through his company, Fieldcraft Survival.

      @dustin jones this asking for advice that tells me you are probably already doing it. You don't have to harness them all the time man, sometimes you've got to let it out, there is never any shame in that. I wish you the best man, god bless.

      dustin jones I went through almost the same situation. Sounds like you’re the glue holding it all together. Just be kind to everyone including your brother, & when look back on this one day, you won’t have any regrets. Do something positive for yourself everyday. Exercise helps so much with depression. I’m praying for you & your family. 🙏

      The Kids Nice You actually are as stupid as I thought. Those “time stamps” doesn’t mean jack shit you clown, I referenced time stamping in the context of when where they are both active in the military you dipshit. I’m still waiting for your “proof” that he is referring to David. I’ll wait,
      Oh and please also tell me how your then able to judge his lack of “team” player characteristics enough for you to think you have done better to make a smart ass comment? I’ll also love to hear this reply. However, don’t reply if your going to ridicule him and pick apart interviews to suit your narrative. Guide me to a press release, a referral of someone who says your the team player that is better than David...I’ll wait,
      Then also tell me why there is a fucking platoon sized former SEALS team who do ultra marathons and triathlons once a month to raise money for those families who lost their SEALS. Also tell me how out of a platoon size former SEAL team there are 4 who tried for the unit and failed and somehow it’s not them?.... let’s roll fuck wit, like I said I’ll pick you apart here you little grub

    Holy crap! Yesterday I tuned in to Apache Helicopter Pilot Emily's unnerving panoply of her life...I'm thinking how is the particular podcast topped? How can anyone else match the nerve core of her story?
    Bang! Mike Glover's enthralling friggin' brutal recollections of time in Afghanistan and Iraq, and in particular his telling of the saga of Vinnie...and the American flag covering the dead Mal's body...Man, oh man...Rudyard Kipling's, The Power of the Dog, first stanza goes like...'There is sorrow enough in the natural way from men and women to fill our day; And when we are certain of sorrow in store, why do always arrange for more? Brothers and Sisters, I bid you aware of giving your heart to a dog to tear.'...so, thank you Mr. Ritland for keeping the genuine pressure on... in this monster podcat.

      Lord Jello Cheeks I saw your comment on Shawn Ryan’s podcast with Mike about that topic too lol. Do you know if he had a choice to continue on to OTC?

    • @GarrettH-rl7ml
      @GarrettH-rl7ml 4 роки тому +6

      Lord Jello Cheeks Incorrect. He was, in fact, a member of the unit. If you’ve seen pictures of him in his uniform he even has pictures of The Unit patch on his arm. He mentioned going to selection as well.

    • @GarrettH-rl7ml
      @GarrettH-rl7ml 4 роки тому +9

      Lord Jello Cheeks The reason he emphasizes being a Green Beret is because The Unit doesn’t officially exist. He’s most supposed to go around and talk about it. Furthermore , most of his career he was a Green Beret and that’s where his roots are. Guys in The Unit revert back to where they came from when they decide to leave.

    • @GarrettH-rl7ml
      @GarrettH-rl7ml 4 роки тому +1

      Lord Jello Cheeks Incorrect. He did in fact go through the entire selection as he said it. I can link you to the podcast. No one goes to The Unit selection just to pass it and move on. The Unit DOES have an insignia. It’s a black dagger with a red background, which, Mike Glover has worn on his uniform. I’m aware of who those guys are by the way. I didn’t say it was a crime to mention being apart of that unit but notice how they don’t brag or go into much details about it? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Force

    If this was just the K9 story it would’ve been worth it. Mike should consider writing a book about his experiences. His detail in just the K9 story, felt like I was reading Lone Survivor, or 13 Hours, because I could picture in my mind and feel his account of what happened. Just a awesome podcast.

    Great episode! It felt like learning military secrets with units I never knew existed. Mike G has done so much, most folks would consider it an achievement to accomplish a part of his mitary career, just amazing. I heard Mike first on Shawn Ryan's podcast and have been checking out his IG and UA-cam channel. Excellent content. Thanks to both Mikes for your amazing service to our country.

    I joined the Navy back on 2001 and not gonna lie i knew absolutely nothing about the military. I guess i got lucky and ended up getting stationed at Nas oceana which is a naval Air station which i didn't know even existed. You can strip and wax floors instead of chipping paint on a ship!

    If you've seen Mike Glover's interview with Shawn Ryan, the first 2 or 2 1/2 hours of this one is pretty similar, but this one is easier to follow. Everything from about 2:30:00 on (right before he starts talking about the Texas church shooting) makes this one a MUCH MUCH better interview and podcast.

      Yea but even the first 2.5 hours of Mikes are way more detailed... he didn’t get into any specific battles he was in on Shawn’s because Shawn didn’t ask. Both great but I prefer Mikes, Shawn will get there

    I respect the fuck out of Glover, dude's a hero and a badass, but he needs to relax with his cockiness about Red Wing. So your guys declined it, cool story, the SEALs that went in planned on a capture/kill undetected until the kill then fight out if need be, knowing there was slim chance of survival. Obviously due to the goat herders that didn't happen. They were attacked by 100+ guys. He can talk all he wants about how they went and "saved/rescued" Luttrell but if that malitia would have been in the same area and not retreated into the other mountains shit would have gone a lot differently. I agree w him its important to speak on the mistakes made so they don't happen again but jeez have some respect. Also glovers team went in with dozens of guys not to mention rangers, marines and more. And act like government officials weren't most likely pushing that mission on them... happens to SEAL teams all the time. Think about the fact there was no air support when predators and others were in the area... Gov didn't want this mission known about. With all that said, I hope those herders ended up wearing their assholes on their foreheads. Thank you for your service gentlemen.

    So there’s well known devgru guys that have gone too the unit but I’ve never heard of a unit guy going to devgru on a permanent basis. Reasoning for this? Or would it be considered a step back for a unit guy to go to DEVGRU
