I think he runs the bigger slack to keep it from flip flopping between coaster and cassette. I heard people had issues with that when it first came out so I never considered getting the z coaster. After trying a planetary I kind of want to try it again.
@@GolfSuxsame. I have the planetary too and was thinking of this. These seem like too much slack before engaging. I think planetary are the best and require the less to think about
@@Lo-water-guide-service I have no problem with freecoaster slack, I just miss the stuff I could do with a cassette. Even if my planetary worked properly, it still doesn't do everything a cassette does. If you ran big slack in a Z coaster, you are essentially running a wtp hybrid. Only instead of tearing your hub apart, you just back pedal to switch.
I have a the planetary on my backup bike though. I put my BSD westcoaster back on my main bike because I have slammed hard from my planetary hub randomly engaging while going fakie.
@@sonnybikes planetary. Revolution and eclat both have hybrid fc that are more affordable. I love my profile mini cassette but don't think I'd go z if buying fc
The planetary is alright. I have 2 bikes, one with a coaster and pegs, the other with a planetary and pegless. The planetary isn't horrible, the only issue I have is sometimes it doesn't disengage and it catches me off guard. It's more of a coaster than a cassette, as cassette tricks don't really work with it, you just have pedal pressure when rolling forward. I am kinda curious with the Z coaster, but the price tag has stopped me from pulling the trigger.
Why I’m I so scared to double peg on a grind box
I don't really know the answer to that
Do you always take your foot off
I'd just quit..
Can you ride it like you would normally ride a coaster as long as you take a crank back?
Good info I’m still kinda confused ❤️ so there’s pedalprusser ?
Jared Crabtree yes! When it’s engaged there is
JACOB HAGER BMX so to fully disengage it you gotta pedal backwards of full cycle?
thank you
Yo. You have a big ring in it which give you crazy slack. Goto the lower number and it won’t have as much slack

@@GolfSux have you tried the new clutch? It’s pretty sweet
Throw back😂😂I saw it
I gotsta odyssey clutch v2 and it’s the shiznit for real 🤪
U can tighten it all the way down and basically makes it a cassette
Doesn't seem like a great value. Primo freemix much cheaper and probably better and lower maintenance
mambocowboy for a freecoaster yes, but this has the ability to be both a cassette and a freecoaster all in one

Planetary is for ppl who can't ride or never got to ride a slack based coaster. Basic beginners coaster. I need pedal pressure my guy.
I'd be pissed if I bought a planetary hub. But hey, you can moonwalk..? 😅😂
