I'm 49 and been riding a coaster for 10 years now. Full slack works fine. Being old you can't control your stance that well when landing big 180's. So full slack is great. Everyone's different though. Good video fellas.🍻
I like to buy stuff once, so it's Profile for me, price may be high but it's dead reliable, made in USA, and completely serviceable. My z coaster has never failed in 5 years
@@RLOsbornBMXFreestyle I did hit them up but the problem was more serious than they thought. The hub does work fine since replacing the pawls and springs.
Thank you guys for talking about freecoaster with big bikes! If either you or BSD made a 13T or bigger drivers, this would give us big bike guys the best of both worlds!
Cool video guys! Thanks for the mention (freenight). The 12T will create more slack so should be interesting. In a few months we'll have the MTB disc version hubs, they have 11T driver that can be adapted to the BMX hubs :)
Absolutely and we will put out some test videos with the customized driver so you can see how it works. And very cool to hear about the MTP version coming out. Definitely looking forward to seeing that
Please keep us posted. I would like to run a freecoaster on my 24". More options for a driver is better. The Profile hub, although perhaps amazing, is just completely out of the question.
Great video again! I've been into the freecoasters since 2005 and have bought them all since then. My recent is the Freenight I got when it first came out. The negative is the pedal pressure you don't have when the hub senses it is going I'm reverse. Especially when your doing lip tricks on high quarter pipes ramps etc. and you lose that pedal pressure, if your a rider that likes pedal pressure during these type of tricks. Trying all these freecoaster I always end up going back to my Profile freecoaster hub with Nankai Freecoaster internals. Pretty much 0 slack and is almost like the Black Ops freecoaster if your comparing interals. Only one I have not bought or tried was the Profile. Believe me I bought and worked on them all even if it was not mine and came up with they all have there own positive and negatives best thing is to pick one that is your favorite and work on your freecoaster technique of riding it especially if your trying to progress in your riding. Changing bikes and riding different hubs will only confuse you and you end up making riding mistakes. Ride On My BMX Bros!
Thank you Joseph. And that is cool to hear from someone who has ridden everything like that. Very interesting how you have the profile setup with different internals. That sounds nice I may have to try that out. Anyways. always appreciate the feedback and thank you again for all the info. Very informative and helpful.
Great video guys thanks for putting this together. I’m a cassette guy (for now), but if I go to free-coaster, the BSD revolution is probably the way I would go. Maybe the WTP hybrid… decisions decisions. Dylan - the hub guards are to protect the spokes and hub from getting smashed when you don’t quite properly lock the pegs on a grind
Thank you Yann! And of course we dig making these videos. And I actually didn't know that about the hub guards myself so thank you for sharing. Let us know what hub you go with and how you like it.
Every once in a while when Dylan turns his head just the right way I would swear I was looking at a 20 something RL. It’s uncanny. I ordered an alienation Venus hub this morning from Albes actually. I was running a Revenge which was INCREDIBLE for the price but I just couldn’t get the slack right. It was doing exactly what you brought up, I would be rolling backwards and it would engage. No bueno. You have me pretty sold on the BSD now, might have to look into one. Awesome vid guys, keep up the great work.
My sister has actually made that comment a few times too funny you noticed. And that's very cool I haven't used the Venus hub before so definitely let us know how you like it. Thanks as always Stoney!
Great video. I need some new wheels my legs can't handle the pedaling backwards anymore at this age too plus I usually use my brakes to come out of it anyway.
Looks like the black ops may be khe internals . Khe makes 11tooth drivers for their geisha freecoaster. For flatland the profile and far east cycles are the best Imo
@@RLOsbornBMXFreestyle I’m going to call Flatland Fuel and see how much they want to set up a BDS Revolution. I already bought some parts for my 2021 Condor, from them.

RL , how are liking the 22'' - im 6-3'' and wondering if i should build a 20 or 22 - i want to do freestyle and mild jumps - i'm 52 and basically hangin out with my kids

Suntour is what we grew up with. Another great vid.
Thanks for the love!
So stoked when Dylan gave the shout out to you bro - you have killed it when explaining the planetary freecoaster tech 🤙🏽
Absolutely we both love watching your vids Brant

My z failed within 6 months. Already had to replace pawls and springs.
Absolutely True, Profile is the definition of Quality

I literally got the shipping notice on my Profile Z-Coaster. The big bike 12 tooth cog and that adjustable slack was too good🤘

Confirmed. Discontinued.
I don't know if anyone else has suggested using a spline drive sprocket on you're big bike . you can go down to a 18 tooth on the front
Thanks guys. I was thinking about getting a freecoaster. Now I have something to think about.

Any advice on Hubs for Jump bike.
R.L is the King.
I am running a Chris King rear on my dirt jumper and that is one of the nicest hubs ever. Not a free coaster though
Hi,RL the freecoaster are tremendous the theme, they are here to stay in utility and evolution of technology,,,,RL freecoaster legend..🔥👊🏁👁
Thank you and yes I love the free coaster on my bike. Which one are you running on yours?

The 22 is great and would definitely recommend that to someone your height
Someone charged you 180$ for a black ops freecoaster hub? YIKES ! 😬
