Give me some of your craziest moto hacks. I'm sure there's tons of them out there. If we get some good ones maybe we'll do a part 2...
Stuck in the mud? Tie a rope around your rear tire and let the tire pull the rope.
It's not the best idea but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Cover your bare metals with Vaseline before getting in heavy rains keeps that metal shiny and Easy to clean afterwards.
Also, nylon stockings are great for chilly rides.
I've discovered that champion chain lube works great at preventing watersopts on plastics and aluminium
Buy a tap and dye set just incase you cross thread screws or bolts trying to work on an older bike like I did first time working on my 83' honda interceptor. The set I got was at harbor freight for like $7 also if the bike has been sitting take a wire brush to the spark plugs, it makes a better connection
I bought a 40 year old hardtail chop as my first bike. Just to make my first new bike more comfortable and convenient
No the scratches on my helmet aren’t from me sliding, I just dropped it.....at 50mph...while wearing it
mine hit the road at the same speed.... and there's not a mark on it...
I challenge anyone to find a mark from it , and I will gladly buy a new helmet...lmao .....
My first wreck, I had an issue with my regular helmet so I had a dirt bike helmet on.. hit the pavement at about 70mph, tore my pants almost completely off, rolled like 8 times. Flew through the air a little bit. Not one single mark on my helmet -_-
TroColp68 could affect the structural integrity though, you may not be able to see it
@@radgiegamer935 can confirm, after my first wreck kept using my helmet. One day while installing a new SENA, found a massive crack inside the helmet.
10 months after but... I did had a second helmet badly attached to the rear seat that ended up burnt by the wheel, the thing has a half inch deep "cut" and was worn only twice
Check your bike.
Me: "Yep its certainly a bike, lessgo"
Sounds good.. looks good.. it's ready
Sounds like a KLR
🤣🤣
Lmao, I love that video around 3:29 where the hand is "wrenching" at a bolt on the lower fork of that bike but the wrench is obviously too large and just spinning around the bolt head! Hahaha! quality stuff here!
makes you wonder about the rest of the video ...fake
When yammienoob said motorcycle in US is just like a toy
Me in Malaysia: internal screaming
its true, in north america and europe 99% of motorcycles are used for fun, not as main transportation
Yup the prices in the US are cheap too if secondhand. In malaysia even secondhands are expensive.
@@luthaeris1 yup
@@lovelessissimo titan? Dont think we get those in Malaysia. The prices here in malaysia, let me give an example, yammie bought his busa for 6k plus USD right. The prices for busa in malaysia averages at 10k USD for same make and model. So yeah.
@@luthaeris1 titan is a 125~150cc honda, the cheapest motorcycle honda sells in brazil (there is the pop100 though but is it really a motorcycle lol)

You have no power here!

@@BoroBoroize hahahaha got him!!

“ lube you’re chain, when was the last time you lubed you chain?”
I felt that yammie noob. I felt that.
Lol I buy some cable and chain lube made by liquid wrench for 2.50$ a can and lube those suckers every couple of ride when the rubber rings "look" dry
I have a buell right now so I don't have to worry about it with a belt lol
@@Kkessler654 I have an 83 750 Shadow with 87,000 kms and never had to change a chain or a belt... Shaft drive rules :D
I lube my chain every ride
You are chain

Probably a furry convention 😂
The prices for used motorcycles drop faster then cars? Not here in europe... The only cheap bike you will find are 20 year old bikes or a used Gixxer (must be at least 8 years old). As an example, for a 3-4 year old MT-7 or Street Triple, actually that counts for nearly any bike, with around 10.000 miles on it, you will pay around 800€-1400€ less, then you would pay for a new one.
True true it’s a lot more appealing to get some bikes new and there isn’t much difference in price and getting it new really makes it feel like your baby.
I feel like no one would buy a used bike with 10k miles on it for 1000 dollars less than a brand new one.
Not in Greece
idk here in spain mts with around 20.000 km (which is like 12-13.000 miles) are around 4000€, being the base price around 7000€ so it's not as yammie says but it's kinda allright. You must understand he kinda lied and normally price drops to half in some more years, like 6-8
Buy outside of the riding season! Now that’s the truth. Just bought a Street Triple RS during the cold, icy months.
Love the videos mate, been watching for a while and every time I feel like I learn something new! Every video I look at something a different way!
Thanks for another helpful list video Yammie 👍🏻
"It's crazy to think you can buy a motorcycle new for $12,000 and then 3 years later buy that same bike with 4000 miles on it for $6,500."
Man, if only things were still like this.
post-covid inflation hit EVERY SINGLE MARKET like a fucking earthquake
@@leoglasmeyer2853 I know. It's wild. Even now, with prices of used cars starting to come down and gas getting cheaper as well as new vehicles picking their production numbers back up, the prices of motorcycles are still outrageous. Hopefully before gas prices go back up, I can afford to get one. Cause I know as soon as gas prices do go back up, the motorcycles will be even more unobtainable again.
I literally just got my first motorcycle yesterday for 2500....a 2009 fz6r with 3.8k miles on it....literally looks brand spankin new

Made it quick. Yammie I'm planning about 7k mile round trip ride across the country in april. You should do a video for long miles and road trips
Definitely always check your bike before every ride because it's a easy way to avoid problems from getting bad and check how often you should change your fluids for basic maintenance. Good luck 🤘

I live in Commerce Oklahoma... that's right down the road from Picher. You ought to drive through the town, it's crazy to see all the decent houses that are now abandoned and rotting away. Also I had a friend due to him living in Picher he got a settlement (we called it his lead head money) and was able to set his life up before he even graduated
Second!! And Yammie, I don't have the money for subscriptions, but I've been watching almost all your videos!! I've been obsessing over motorcycles for so many years and I've never had the money for anything like that!!
All good things come to those who wait, my dude. Just give it some time and you'll be riding before you can blink.
under 2500 i had gear and my 2002 SV650 bought and paid for with insurance...
My bike had 5700km, or around 3500 miles...
Keep looking and a dream machine will eventually drop into your lap....
Just make sure you save some coin to get it... and enough for gear before you get on it.
@@yammienoob thanks bro. Dreams never truly die
I actually feel forking out for bead breakers, air compressor etc over the serviceable life of those items is false economics. A better hack is build a rapport with your chosen bike shop and they will look after loyal customers.
Other good hacks are parking in shade in summer, tyre pressures and knowing suspension adjustments, using proper automotive care products to wash your bike, not dish soap like my neighbour omg!
Good channel Yammie, 💖
Thanks to Covid, used bikes and cars are up to 40% higher due to shortages on new ones being made and logistics. Some bike like Groms are cheaper if new if you can find one new otherwise it's a 6month waiting list!
YAMMIE!! My long lost source of all things clever and informative for motorcycle riding! I’m hoping to rejoin the fold soon! If you enjoy the hill country, I’ll be out there on a Z800 hopefully soon.
I actually bought my bike on the January 31st this year :)
Congratulations fellow squid.
Stay safe out there.
Got mine on the 24of January I got a 2018 Honda cb650f
Is it a hack if you buy a rolling frame with three boxes of parts and rebuild it yourself? I mean, it was cheap, but there's always extra bolts laying around, lol
Omg Yammie Facts at the end of the video. I miss these.
For tracking bolt placement, punch em through one of the 20 amazon cardboard boxes you have laying around and mark it with a sharpie, easier than bagging and tagging them individually
For helmets. Scorpion EXO-R710. ~200usd, Snell and DOT rated. Bunch of vents, communicator cutouts and a setting to crack the visor open a tiny bit.
Ahhhb the intros love it!

Good point on the helmet
I had no problems with the front tire, but the Back tire on mine was a hard to find the tire AND the tube. It was an odd size for a back tire. So definitely look for tires and buy them before you need them or you'll be waiting a bit before you're back on the road
I mean I ride a salvage title, I also work at the local dealership and had guys go over it with a fine tooth comb, and it's been good to me so far
Dope!
Fly racing has some good helmets for a good price. Just over $100 for a snell approved helmet.
I started seeing them in motocross around the mid to late 2000s but only recently saw street bike/ dual sport helmets from them.
Emblazoned across the title picture for this video was the words thin chain equals more speed. I have seen several people who think that it's a wise idea to put a lightweight race change on a street bike. I have never seen anybody have much luck with doing that as the chain cannot take the stresses of leaving from a stop constantly. They think that the race chain although lighter is stronger than a straight chain. All it's going to do is break. Race changes are made to race with and then replace.
I bought my 2011 KLR 650 used from a Kawasaki dealer and have sunk significant money into remedying the hopelessly inadequate stock brakes and suspension. Will I ever recover the money spent should I chose to sell it? Probably not, far better to enjoy what is now a superb motorcycle. I bought my KTM 790 Duke new because there was no other option and will be hanging on to it as well, the well-known reliability issues have been addressed under warranty and the thing is an absolute delight on fast twisty roads. Likewise my most recent purchase is a 2019 Royal Enfield 650 Continental GT which the dealer has agreed to store free of charge until spring. Got a 500 dollar discount because it is a 2019 and the likelihood of these things changing radically year to year is low. I fell in love with the RE because it is frickin gorgeous and I can't wait for riding season so I can enjoy all three!
Someone is enjoying that ride up Loop 360. I miss ATX. 😢
Ahh perfect timing
If you ride dual sport or dirt bike you can get a harbor freight air file to sharpen pegs 5-7 times before you need to buy new pegs.
Clean your chain with "Brake Cleaner spray" its cheapear and have the same properties like a "chain cleaner". I pay aprox 2.5$ for a brake cleaner instead how much costs a real chain cleaner.

New air filter brake pads and brake fluid this week for my r6. Debating on doing steel braided brake lines? Worth it!?

I'm enrolled for the msf course in April. I'm buying a 2016 fz07 with 3k miles bone stock for $3k. Im picking it up later this month. I'm not even low balling him, cuz I'm stealing this bike. But it's going to be staring at me in my garage for a couple months til I get the license lol
4:40 I give you the like just for showing Lemmy!
Yam could you give a suggestion about a good tire pressure on different bikes? I own a ‘99 R1 and i keep hearing all kind of things.
Start with what the frame says then go from there.
Yammie Noob 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 thank’s bro
Speedometer and odometer do not feed off the same info. Calibrating one typically does not affect the other. That's why there's fix kits out there.
I don't know where this myth stems from. One is speed the other is distance. Distance is a function of speed over time. For them to be separate they'd have to be using two entirely separate methods to measure speed. Why would they create two entirely separate mechanisms for measuring the speed of the bike just to then display them side by side in the same cluster?
OMG I just bought my first freaking motorcycle!!!!!!dont worry I already got my helmet and other gear. It's a 08 ninja 500r. I'm ready to cover that thing in gooch juice!!!! Lol
I'm jealous man got my ninja 250 2 months ago and it's been great but would like a little more torque!!!!
@@almostrox7270 I kinda out grew the ninja 500 pretty quickly. I got a 2014 suzuki sfv 650 gladius about a month ago now and I love it. Way more torque, and it actually feels safe doing 65 mph on the high.
Keep up the great videos bro
Bikes can be expensive AF in some parts of the world. Here in Brazil my 2010 Honda Lead 110cc scooter is worth about US$ 700.00. Just to put this into better context, the minimum wage here is about US$ 181.00 per month. A brand-new MT-07 will set you back approx US$ 7,500.00, which is about what that bike costs in the US. However, typical middle-class salaries here are much lower (in US$) than typical US middle-class salaries. In part, that's why small-displacement bikes are so prevalent in Brazil and in other developing countries. Now take a minute to imagine how expensive a car can be down here.
Here in my area it only costs $2 for a tire change each. 😂
Where you live lemme know m8
Is the beginner bike giveaway for just the usa or can people from australia win too?
Lol. I so did number 2. I just bought a gsxr 600 and rode it home 1.5 hrs away in 30° weather. Yammie are you spying on me?!
Yup we have you under constant surveillance, how do you think we get our "Most bikers" statistics? lol
Did you do something with your mic in this video? It sounded a little muffled.
another tip to add on for when you are buying or selling a used bike! Make sure you see the bike start up cold, or start it up cold if you are selling it. Hot bikes start easier!
I walked up to my SV650 and the PO had it soo warmed up gas was dripping out the float bowls, like drool from a mouth freshly out of a dentist chair...
Buddy had a snot rag in the V , and I asked, he said, yeh it drips a bit of gas after its been running for a while.....
Spoiler, bike had 5700 kms, was brand new, looked mint... PO left gas in it too long and it ate the float bowl gasket o-rings.... 5$ and a year later, I have a mint 2002 SV650S that doesn't leak , does redline in top gear, and I've put 20,000 kms on it since changing the orings out, which took me 10 minutes, maybe 15 :D
Don't let a minor issue chase you away... bike could be the golden child
TroColp68 aye good point, little issues like that with easy fixes are no problem, but I’m more talking about someone trying to hide a major issue. Either way, you never can really know what you are buying!
3:30 that spanner is doing nothing haha.
Ι bought a 13 year old fazer for 3k. Great condition with 55k miles with complete service book. It needs a pair of tires cause those sportsmarts 2 are slippery AF
I currently ride a salvage titled 2013 cbr250 that I spent $800 for. I've ridden it as my daily driver everyday for 3 years.
No need to be afraid of salvage titled bikes... Just be careful and THOROUGHLY check it out for bent frames, and wiring damage. But if none of that.... RIDE IT. oh, and make sure it runs... and runs as well as an non salvage bike.
My bike hit the road at 80kph and barely scratched the fairings, but there would have been enough damage an insurance company would have wrote it off..
Good thing it wasn't insured for hitting a deer.... I fixed it for peanuts and you cant tell it was ever in an accident unless I point out the one scratch left, that you'd never find for looking if I didn't show you :D

Dear yammie nood. I recently came into a 2002 gsxr 750 with 3000kms on the odometer. My previous experience riding is only on the cb350 honda which I bored out and rebuilt from a box of parts. I've only riden that honda around the block so far. My question is.. how much do you think the gsxr is worth and should I ride it as my first street legal bike??
I'd be careful with an older GSXR 750 as people tend to ride the piss out of them. Also they tend to get issues with 2nd gear popping out. If it seems solid though and you feel you can handle the extra power I personally don't see why not. But I'm also not the overly cautious type.

I just bought a bike with what was said is a clean title but they ended up laying it down and it only scratched up the right fender and they made a police report and when I went in to get it in my name I had to file it as a salvaged title because they made that police report. Apparently here in Idaho if a vehicle had to make a police report over a accident of any extent then it’s mandatory to report it as a Savage title. It so stupid. But yet it’s in perfect condition so it changed my mind on buying vehicles with a savaged title not in every case is it a bad thing to do just do it with caution.
Hey yams, this is random but i saw a desert sled today and holy fuck, it's tall! I'm 5'11" and it really reminded me of my drz height wise. The camera really doesn't show it
The best hack is to find someone who can sell parts at cost the make them your best friend.
Yammie noob has become busa whipped but who could blame him.
Buy a tire machine! They cheap enough, with multiple bikes pays for its self. Puts the joy back into 30 minute tire change. PLUS,,like any bike guru, think of the new friends you make!
You say to buy used. But what if it's a MT 07? There is a 2k price difference between new and used. I wish it was half!
2k lol, way less than that, that's exactly why I got new instead
2k can buy you a lot of track time.
2k less for a 5-6 year old bike where almost all the wear parts need replacement. You would spend 2k on battery tyres chain seal's (fork) etc to get a back up to spec. And throw in all the mot's and travel and no warranty.
Man I wish motorcycles were this cheap in France, even an old Hornet or even old 1990's CB 500 are around 3000/3500€ in "good condition" (more like "running condition"). But you know, if you search hard, you can find some pretty nice deals !
They may be more expensive, but you folks have all the sweetest bikes over there. The cbr250rr... the Husqvarna Nuda... We can't have nice things.
@@endstatism9490 Seriously ?? You don't have these ?? Damn ... And we have (I think) a better system when it comes to motorcycle license (A2, A, etc) ^^

I completely agree with the license scheme. There was a couple that were killed here in Phoenix lastnight. The guy took out his 600cc sportbike with his lady on the back (no helmets of course) to show off. Ended up jumping a curb into the bed of a PARKED pickup truck. The way we do it, riders have little (if any) respect for the machine.

Guy up the road from me does tires for me for 30$ ... making sure my 200kph+ tires are properly balanced is priceless... The 60$ I spent last summer to change my tires twice was well worth not buying equipment I have no room for ;)
I have a rear stand and change my tires... he just mounts and balances... I do my maintenance , oil changes, valve adjustments, chain maintenance... as far as my speedometer... I don't look at it , really don't care if it's off... cops here don't stop anyone at 10 kph over the limit, and never chase bikes... sooo meh I know where my speedo is off, when I go by a radar sign at 60 kph, the sign says I am going 53.... so in our 50 kph city, I ride 60 KPH , and watch as cars fly by me at 80...Yeah calibrate that speedo alright LMAO
