I spoke to my landlord to keep my zx6r in the backyard but he kept bringing up minor issues until I just sold it. Now I have a garage first thing I did is upgrade to an R1. Garage is invaluable.
Njkisn What's wrong with me? "Living on 4th floor" is what's wrong with me :'( At least the apartment building I live in has a gated courtyard for anti-theft. Some people still have it worse
1. T handle hex drivers 2. Basic socket set 3. Basic wrench set 4. Service manual and manufacturer manual 5. A decent rear stand and spools on your bike 6. Kerosene for cleaning chain/chain cleaner 7. Chain lube 8. Bike wash/polish 9. Don't cheap out on a pressure gauge Spend the most money on gear, then a rear stand and then tools.
That.. Was actualy pretty informative and correct, people, listen to him, that's accurate and usefull. may i suggest another very usefull item? one of those magnetic tray to put screws and nuts that you take off the bike.
I've bought an expensive torque wrench, but I can't get the square bit to engage with those strange hexagonal bits on the top of the bolts. What did I do wrong?
I’m a new rider who’s recently stumbled across your videos and I feel like I have been blessed by the gods with quality motorcycle content. Thank you for providing such informative, but quick and to the point content. Your channel should be on this list!
First time I've ever watched one of these lists and actually bought a product listed. been looking for an accurate tire gauge for a while as all the ones in NZ are either over-priced or rubbish and the one you linked ships here! Cheers Yammie.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE YAMMIE DO ANOTHER ONE OF THESE... ITS BEEN 3 YEARS OMGGGG ... but seriously i freaking love those skin safe vibrating hair annihilators how can i hear more about them o flabby goo? tacky dude? tracky fool? jk i love you dude... literally the biggest driving force in me being over a year into riding and multiple years of watching
Good advice! One more thing you need: friend(s) to show you how to do this stuff if you aren’t a natural mechanic (and with the extra tools you will inevitably need). For example, nearly everyone installs a tail tidy so you need the stuff to deal with wire properly.
This "natural mechanic" is an interesting thing. I always took stuff apart when I was a kid, and managed to put more and more back together as time passed. Bicycles motorbikes... cars ... computers ... now I diy even strange stuff like my keyboard or would wire my own home office (power, net, automation) .... I don't think I am a "natural mechanic", I just practiced a lot, broke a lot of stuff, then eventually learned to research and not break the stuff :) .
Thank you for including the Torque wrench in the list! So many people (even mechanics) who do not use one. It is my nightmare that someone would tighten important stuff on my bike to "just about right" specifications... To re-tap an engine bolt costs more than a wrench. Why even risk it. I just don't get it. Also on carbon fiber bicycle parts, where 5nm vs 10nm is the difference between "will hold" and "will be crushed", with a handlebar costing as much as a wrench... again ... why risk it without it....... Of course there is road-side and in-theforest repairs where you have no option, but other than these, there is no reason to not always use one....
My bicycles haven't seen a bike shop (or any mechanic) since 1985 :) or so.... My motorbikes neither. Now I have a bike with a guarantee and just the oil/filter change freaks me out as I have to do them at the agency for the guarantee. If I could I would pay the cost, then stay there, take my tools and do the change myself to be sure someone doesn't do a complete %@#$@#%@#$@#$ on the bike, then just glue it back together. Unfortunately I don't have time to service my car too, but I am heading there. The last time I did liquid changes I was ripped off big-time, they put in the wrong size of air filter and who knows what else they managed the screw up I didn't discover.
I’ve done about 5 top ends on my bikes so far and never torqued the head bolts with a torque wrench. It’s vile I know but I have had 0 issues as I go by feel 😂😂
Yammie Noob thank you so much got my 1st bike a few weeks ago and your videos have helped a lot no more cars for this guy i just wonder why it took me so long. Keep up the great work
Instead of chain lube - you can get a scottoiler for your bike, not only does it eliminate the hassle of having to lube the chain every 1000 km - but it also massively increases chain life - I'm up to 60,000 km on my 'Busa chain with a scottoiler - and its only needed to be adjusted twice, with no tight spots.
I wish I found this video a couple of years ago! This is informative content and funny. I have recently been doing maintenance for the first time without experience. The brakes were an issue. I would add to the list, something to make bleeding the brakes cleaner/easier. Next I thought the chain might need some love, and this video made me realize it is long over due.
If you're looking for more advanced info about your car you should get a REPAIR manual. The "owner's" manual is just about operation the bike/car, they seldom even touch on repair. The "service" manual is just about maintenance like spark plugs/oil/battery/ other simple service. A "repair" manual will go into detail on troubleshooting problems, torque specs, better wiring diagrams, etc. It's so frustrating when people think names are interchangeable.
Repair manuals and service manuals are the same thing. They're just different words used by different publishers. This video is for new people, please don't confuse them by pretending to know what you're talking about if you dont.
T-handle Allen wrenches are indispensible, but instead of a compressor, I just use a pig tank which holds 150PSI, and is always handy before a ride. I fill it about once a year.
First and foremost thing to have is BRAIN and Heart for bikes. And with some recent events.... I dont think Yammie is the Guy to Show us things with Motorcycles
If tie-wire and zip ties can't get you through it, nothing can. I keep some zippies and an hex key set. Also though, my multi tool has got me out of some tight spots.
Everytime I watch this dude's videos. I always go straight to the comment section either after or while the video is playing just to see what people are commenting; especially the haters. It makes my day🤣🤣😂😂
you need the tools to fix a flat i have all those those bough them little by little us i was needing them is fun to work on a bike you need a wire tester too most problems are electrical
My KTM 790 Duke uses torx fasteners exclusively. Thank goodness I had a torx socket set when I purchased the bike. For those who don't know, torx heads are asterisk shaped and attempting to work on them without the correct tool will most likely butcher them.
Yay! Grannie Boob is back! Thank you for yammie noobing my evening for 8:41'. However, I shall go back home now. A Triumph awaits in my garage. You'll save me next time. Goodbye.
I was riding off-road, and a guy in the group lost the bolts holding the exhaust on while riding, we duck taped it back on and he rode with it duck taped on for a year
Chain degreaser: Kerosene + chain brush ... much cheaper than specifically sold "cleaners" Also, much of what you said about hex keys is null and void if youre a BMW rider like me ;) ... for that you naturally need the special fairy "torque" screw types
Harley Davidson offers my model and year owners manual on line. You should also read all owners manuals!!! You need to know the bike, or truck, or car, or…
i’m currently going to a school to learn riding(fucking pointless but it’s compulsory where i live). there are about 12 lessons including tests lmao. 7 lessons in; cant wait to get my license
I like the ‘Yam’ but I feel I could escape! But I would need a Honda Grom and would have to watch videos of cute kittens. Yes, yes I think it’s possible.
Don't buy cheap cable ties like Yammie bought at Big Lots. Black cable ties are UV resistant and can withstand sunlight. If you own a haughty Eurobike, get the Cobra flush head cable ties because they are the only cable ties awesome enough for your German, Austrian or Italian steel steed.
I don’t usually laugh out loud at much on the internet but when you referenced coating yourself in lube to evade your enemies i cackled for a good 15 seconds out loud
5:50 Probably been answered already but its "Parasitic Power Loss". The less amount of shit your brake horse power from the engine needs to travel through to the rear tire, the less power loss.
Great list, would've been handy two years ago when I started. Would've save a bunch of rushed trip to the hardware store. But better late than never. How's the arm?
As a young fuck whi hangs out with his 75 year old grandpa who fixs flooded quads with paper towel and a match i know how much more useful bailing wire is and wire i general (not to be confused with cable)
Actual number one item I'd like to own before I got a bike: *A garage*
Wait you dont hang your bike on the wall in your living room when you are not riding it? What is wrong with you?
Lol that's basic. I hang my bike from the ceiling itself.
I spoke to my landlord to keep my zx6r in the backyard but he kept bringing up minor issues until I just sold it. Now I have a garage first thing I did is upgrade to an R1. Garage is invaluable.
Njkisn What's wrong with me? "Living on 4th floor" is what's wrong with me :'(

@@Real_MisterSir well if your bike is any good you can drive up stairs.
Yammie: "you have to own bikestands before buying bike."
Also Yammie: "buy bikestands that fit on your bikes"
also : service manual
1. T handle hex drivers
2. Basic socket set
3. Basic wrench set
4. Service manual and manufacturer manual
5. A decent rear stand and spools on your bike
6. Kerosene for cleaning chain/chain cleaner
7. Chain lube
8. Bike wash/polish
9. Don't cheap out on a pressure gauge
Spend the most money on gear, then a rear stand and then tools.
That.. Was actualy pretty informative and correct, people, listen to him, that's accurate and usefull. may i suggest another very usefull item? one of those magnetic tray to put screws and nuts that you take off the bike.
yeah, also a good idea!
I have all of these items
now all I need is a bike
Do it
I like ur pic
I've bought an expensive torque wrench, but I can't get the square bit to engage with those strange hexagonal bits on the top of the bolts.
What did I do wrong?
I have everything but the chain lube. My FJR has a drive shaft.
Hubert M you sir, are a comedic genius 😂

Stuck FOREVER .
BEST VIDEOS ..YOULL KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT MOTORCYCLE
#1 thing you need before buying a bike. A satisfying list video that presents you with the tools you need before buying a bike

Let the Haynes manual be your natural mechanic.
@@mobiledevto Isn't a Clymer manual better??? Genuine question. Fairly new to this.

I really like the new Yammie videos. But the style of this old ones are just great. Superb!
I cannot thank you enough on the timing of this video!!! In a few months im gonna get my own....i cant wait!

📣Damnnnnnn he's aliveeeee ... let's gooooo
@Jake Paul’s hairline i hear ya 🤣
Nice video. I sourced most of these shortly after riding and owned a few before, but zip ties are something I totally overlooked. Thanks Papa Noob
I like the track side stand i picked up
After the ‘skip the leg day’ comment, you deserved my like!
Love the content papaYammie
1: a working arm.

I just got a set of the paddock stands for my newly acquired Honda NC700X, they are awesome. Highly recommend.

It’s been too long Yammie. Too. long.
Imma do that torque click ASMR for Yam. 😊
wow this is actually just arround the right time, probably gonna get my first bike in oktober/november
First and foremost thing to have is BRAIN and Heart for bikes. And with some recent events.... I dont think Yammie is the Guy to Show us things with Motorcycles
Damn bannie scoob, back at it again with another informational vid. Thanks mang 😗👌
Zip ties that withstand ~200 degrees are nice for piece of mind
4:58 Any changes you make, you really *V O I D*
yay hes back
Video suggestion: what should i do in preparation for my first all-day-tour and what can i expect from it?

tourge wrench, light, E-Plan, work with system
That is important too
Oh great and powerful yammie thank you for gifting us with you abundance of knowledge.
Will get it soon...Thanks
My Braker bar is a bend handlebar that fits on a ratchet

Yay Spammy Cube listed a new video
Yayyyy 😀😀😀!!! Spammy Pube is back!!!
I inflate my tires with a manual bicycle pump with a gauge on it....
Works great actually.
Chain degreaser: Kerosene + chain brush ... much cheaper than specifically sold "cleaners"
Also, much of what you said about hex keys is null and void if youre a BMW rider like me ;) ... for that you naturally need the special fairy "torque" screw types
Thanks for the smart tips Yammie 👍🏻
"Noshirtfullyolo1000cc" 😂, this had me in stitches.
Don't forget impact driver its a must have tool for most motercycles the type you use a hammer
Harley Davidson offers my model and year owners manual on line. You should also read all owners manuals!!! You need to know the bike, or truck, or car, or…

That PC air compressor is a good pic and it is only 100 and can build up to 150psi

its ya boy Nammie Yoob finally back!
My love for old machines and my inability to pay people to fix them for me has ensured that I always have all kinds of tools laying around
Anyone remember when his Triumph looked like that?
Pepperidge Farms remembers.
It's called the countershaft sprocket..
I don’t usually laugh out loud at much on the internet but when you referenced coating yourself in lube to evade your enemies i cackled for a good 15 seconds out loud
that watch looks like one i bought off of wish. seems like same quality tbh. but mine look better, wish i could put a picture up. nice black and gold.
Cool, I needed a new watch, just bought a Vincero. Very nice!
Don't use lube. Chammy and gear oil, lubricated better and far less fling. And 1000 times cheaper than spray
Really great video to learn how to fix your own bike :D
Great! I'm only gotta buy the breaker and the torque wrench... and a bike :)
this dude makes me feel so bad about myself
2:32 underrated lmao
5:50 Probably been answered already but its "Parasitic Power Loss". The less amount of shit your brake horse power from the engine needs to travel through to the rear tire, the less power loss.
Nega-Noob? Yammie, did you buy a new bike????? That black Daytona sure looks nice!
It's about time dude. Nice video thou.. 👍👏😂
I never leave home without my torque wrench well being that it’s my arm then it’s hard to leave home without it anyways
feckin love those watches amma buy one soon
Good info for someone trying to save for a bike.
torque wrench asmr....i need that in my life
Great list, would've been handy two years ago when I started. Would've save a bunch of rushed trip to the hardware store. But better late than never. How's the arm?
Cotoiler helps, I would also state that it is really nice to own a garage or sth alike.
"Real slippery in case I need to get away from my enemies" 🤣🤣
That was lovely thank you
Aaahhhh yammie bae
I’ll be honest, the watch brand mentioned is the Hyosung of the watch brand... not great but not terrible.
Dude ease up on the intro (loved it though) 🤣🤣😂
Zip ties , the bailing wire for the next generation
As a young fuck whi hangs out with his 75 year old grandpa who fixs flooded quads with paper towel and a match i know how much more useful bailing wire is and wire i general (not to be confused with cable)
yes i agree. i stopped a leak with zip ties before. if it didn't work. it means you didn't use enough
Great vid man 👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😁
You need to upload more
Thanks for the video my man..
5:00 that feel though
Sounds like he shit himself😂😂
That chain cleaner brush is so good but its not available here in NEPAL.
Audio blurb caught me off guard at 5:00
bless your soul flying spaghetti man, we've missed you.
