The action director duo goes by the name ANBARIV
It's pronounced var-geese😅
I was thinking who this Mexican guy Vargais?!
Anbu-arivu....ANBARIVU
Meaning compassionate and smart I think...
Both of them are award winning Tamil stunt masters. Kathi, KGF 1 & 2 , Vikram are all their masterpieces. Music director SAM CS also from Tamil Cinema
To be honest the worst part of kgf is action. Maybe it's just me because I am not a fan of slow motion after every blow
@@Ihateanimalloverstheyareshitkgf action was a lot of jump cuts probably to mask the budget constraints
For someone like me who was born in the early 90s, that Babu Antony scene was such a blast. 🔥
There is an old saying in Kerala- If Babu Antony is in hero's side, there is nothing to worry about as he will take care of all the villains single-handedly 😅
This movie was a throwback for all the 90s kids and a perfect tribute to an ultimate legend.
That nunchaka hold in the air! We all knew what was coming! The theatre WENT BESERK!
@@TriedRefusedProductionsWatch old Hatya with Govinda in the lead.
@@TriedRefusedProductions Damn, Thats makes me want to watch it even more as a Nunchuck Student !
Interesting fact about Hatya it was remake of Poovinu Puthiya Poonthennal Malayalam movie which remade into 6 languages..in 4 Babu antony played the same role
I really now wish that RDX should have been relaesed in pan India level instead of King of Kotha. Average movies like KOK, marakkar, kurupp have only been released in multiple languages from Kerala. That is kind of saddening
They still have not really cracked what to put their money on regarding what will work across states
@@TriedRefusedProductionssad but true
Yes you said it.. Kurup was all hype, Marakkar also, and now KoK
Kurup was still a blockbuster & did 81crs collection, that too in 50% occupancy
@@cineholic88thanks to covid, there hadn't any big canvas malayalam films released before kurup. Otherwise, it would have been another disaster.
Controversies aside, Shane is one of the most gifted actors of this generation.
Love you jaya, thanks a ton.
@@ROSUJACOBwhat's this? Shane's fake id?
The bonding between the trio was amazing🔥
When the pay off happens, the adrenaline rush was so satisfying
The emotional build up they did for their relationship and family dynamic really elevated the film to be more than just a simple action film!
Shane nigam is one of the unique intense actor among youngsters.. He deserves many roles.. His best is "bhoothakalam " and "ishq "
LOVED BOTH. He was great for me in Kumbalangi Nights and Eeda
@@TriedRefusedProductionsreview mastaney Punjabi movie
He was best in Kumbalangi Nights
@@TriedRefusedProductionshe is a very talented in all category.. Fight, dance, comedy, romance & sentiments 👌well performance 🔥👏
Man, keeping the controversies aside, I really want Shane to succeed. This movie made me feel like, he is the Dhanush (in terms of versatility) of Malayalam industry. The intensity in his eyes in the ferry fight, the anger he shows without saying anything etc., were epic. And I hope both Antony and Neeraj get amazing roles as well moving forward. Neeraj was a revelation in this movie. He crushed all his doubters with his performance. What a amazing movie. The beauty of this film was we root for lead characters sooo much because of what they have gone through and we want the goons to be bashed up, as they deserve it. And lastly, the villain Agastya, damnnn. You get such dangerous vibes from him. Everyone was cast perfectly. And how can I forget Aashan Babu Antony, a legend in himself.
Babu Anthony is becoming the crowd favourite with his MOMENT in the film!
@@TriedRefusedProductions Yeah bro. Can't wait to see what Lokesh has done with him in Leo.
to be honest, he seems better in romance and action than dulquer. That guy is nothing other than just hype.
everybody In industry knows the capabilities of Shane Nigam. That’s why he is is in controversy. Nobody wants him grow. That is why he not getting any dances or fights before. If he get proper roles he can be the next superstar. I said it 5 years before.
Is the action full of 300 like ghatiya slow motion ? Malayalis don't know how to make good action scenes !
Watch out for Babu Antony. He is an old school action hero from Mollywood. He is doing a significant role in Thalapathy's Leo.
Special Mention to the visionary Producer Sophia Paul. After Bangalore Days and Minnal Murali, She now brings us RDX. She is a powerhouse brand in herself and kuddos to her for bringing exciting original stories to the people.
Jaison..Paulson..Seban..Anas..Ratheesh..Suni..Davis...
I remembered the name of villains even after the movie.. usually villains are forgettable...but these guys made an impact...there characters are well written..each of them have their unique character traits
Neeraj Madhav has truly impressed me. The guy was doing small bit roles in movies like Memories and Drishyam. He was brilliant in Family man S1 and now in RDX. Him weilding the nunchuck was truly the highlight. While the other 2 strayed away from their choice of martial art, Neeraj didn't. I just wish they explored him and his relationship with them with a little bit more depth.
I always confuse neeraj madhav with that banned malayalam actor.
@@ROSUJACOB Sreenath Bhasi. Many do get confused 😹
Difference between Thallumaala and rdx i felt was that in thallumaala the stunts were jst for tge sake of winning the fight, but rdx it is for life or death ,can feel the unending vengeance and venom in their eyes n mind, hence felt more serious
That's a great take. Also I could not really take sides in Thalumaalaa, it almost seemed like everyone was kinda messed up but here you root for the trio till the end
Also thallumaala was kind of an action comedy in the tone of Scott pilgrim whereas rdx was much more of an old school 90s action movie
@@TriedRefusedProductions also as u pointed the stunts were visible n clear and even more colorful in thallumaala comparitively.. and the romantic n fun elements of thallumaala gives it a repeat watch value, where as rdx s adrenaline rush inducing thriller for the first watch and may not induce the same emotions the second time i guess..
But kudos to the debutant director Nahas Hidayath.. He has potential in abundance. This movie is a testament to his ability to handle anything be it romance or emotions or stunts or even comedy..excited for his next movies.
Anthony varghese's filmography is one hell of a ride. I personally feel he will even edge out dulquer salmaan's too in the coming years. He makes very limited films but his scripts are a perfection
I really connected with him in his emotional breakdown in the hospital scene. It provided me a glimpse of his dramatic ability. Can't wait to catch up on his filmography
@@TriedRefusedProductionspls watch ajagajandram also
@@TriedRefusedProductionsYou have already seen him in Jallikkettu😊
@@TriedRefusedProductionsjallikettu, ajagajantharam, please watch Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil it prison break type movie
Just don't watch his comedy/romantic films. 😂
The villains also deserve appreciation. All the antagonists from main villain to side villains were 💥💥
They made the film more engaging.
The stronger the bad guys, the stronger the protagonists, the better the film.
Pepe and adi padam 🔥 the combo that never ever disappoints. Angamaly Diaries..Ajagajantharam and now RDX 🔥
Antony Varghese is an actor tailor made for action oriented films.
I would highly recommend you to watch his 2 outings with the director Tinu Pappachan (Chief Associate of LJP Films)
Going to definitely watch more of his films. I loved the physicality he brought to Jallikattu as well!
Ajagajaantharam is fricking great, it involves a temple festival rivalry, I bet you would love it. It is also a just one night premise movie.
@@yohansvarghese5804 DAMN! That sound f*cking exciting. The binge will commence soon!
@@TriedRefusedProductions enjoy!!!
@@TriedRefusedProductionsYou have seen his first movie Angamali diaries by ljp right?
Just the fact that you felt the physicality of Antony Varghese mattered during punches tells me that you haven't watched any of his movies, that guy is a beast when it comes to action, his screen presence is electrifying, 'Freedom at midnight' and 'Angamali Diaries' are a must watch. The fan in my was slightly hurt with your "stocky built" comment, could have started the review on a positive note for such a brilliant movie experience.
Whenever I have a great experience in theatres, I start off on the underwhelming aspects so that I can end on a good note. A lot of the frailties in the action with Antony in RDX is owing to the injury he underwent so it is warranted but it does not mean you can't point it out as a demerit of the film. I've seen his physical ability in Jalikattu and Angamaly Diaries, it's not as effective as those in my opinion
I personally liked the initial punch of Pepe and the fight that ensues inside the house, that sets the movie rolling and proves to be an absolute entertainer. Still not sure though why Hallaballo song was removed from the movie.
I'm sure you remember Anthony's 'Angamaly Diaries'. Also, his 'Ajagajantharam' has a very simple but engaging action story with no actual protagonist. 'Freedom at Midnight' is also a must watch prison thriller. The latter two are directed by LJP's close friend and assistant Tinu Pappachan.
The reason in antony's case was he suffered a shoulder dislocation due to his training for this film. Due to this the film shooting was stopped for over 3 months. Doctors also told that he couldn't do action film for 1 year. But he agreed to do this film and after 3 months, with that shoulder which was not fully recovered he did the fights. That's why in some places we can see his punches don't land on people. Eventhough he did a very good job in this film.
Antony was filiming with a broken elbow that is very evident in his action sequences as you mentioned. He was adviased to go for 1 year rest, informed the same to crew but they waited for 3 montha for his slight recovery.
Spolier alert :- If you have watched the movie in kerala or with more mallus
You would have heard most hooting and cheering for "The Babu Antony sequence " in final battle.
Whole theatre was waiting for that moment
it was the case in my theatre too. I just kept the moment away for people to experience it themselves!
@@TriedRefusedProductions ya that's true I put a spolier alert now
The moment Robert comes back is so earned and hyped . Literal goosebumps .
Shane is the son of Late 'Abi' aka Habeeb Mohamed , a mimicry super star of his time. Babu Antony , the man played the martial arts teacher is the original martial arts actor of Malayalam. He played hero in several action movies in the 90s. Being a real 5th Dan Black Belt martial artist , his action was far superior to other actors of the 90s. And we 90s kids adored him. When matured audience were enjoying Mohanlal or Mammootty , we kids loved Babu Antony's unapologetic action. That is the reason why....In the climax of RDX , when he clinges the nunchak in air , the 90s kids erupted in theatre...
He runs martial arts school in the US.
Shane nigam is also a music composer. He was the Composer, lyricist and Singer of the song ' Raa Tharame ' from his movie "Bhoothakalam"
It's amazing the action team started with KGF and then did Vikram. And Salaar n Leo are also done by them.
Awesome movie, Rajamouli words coming true "Malayalam cinema has the best writing"
Kaithi, doctor are also from same team
Prashant Neel hired them after watching the spectacular action scenes in Kaithi
Loved the theatrical experience for this one❤️🔥
Also the main antagonist done by Vishnu Agasthya was so good in the role
I wanted more of him tho! Rather than a focus on the motley crew of friends he had
Thank U Jamie..
U are always with The TRUE TALENTs
thanks for the review
.i had requested for it in last video .
Jammy you didn't mention about the villains in this movie... They were 🔥
Shane nigam is some actor. He has got everything 🙌
Just saw it today. Thank you for the recommendation. ❤ That was an electric action movie .
The main plus in this movie is the antagonists..they were top notch🙌
Well curated perfectly reviewed and RDX is perfect family drama to watch on theatres only cheers to Jammy
Thanks Jammy for recommending the best movies so we can see them and enjoy them thanks always
Jammy. Thank you so much for doing a video about this movie. Else I would have missed one my most satisfying movie experiences ever. Excellent movie with great action, acting and background score.
What a fantastic film . Missed this in the big screen
RDX: Robert Dony Xavier: A Pulsating, Gripping and Explosive Actioner
4/5
This film is WILD!
First of all, I would like to talk about the technical team.
Cinematography - The cinematography in this film is OUTSTANDING! Alex J. Pulickal does a fabulous job capturing the tense moments showcased.
Editing - The film's editing is performed by Chaman Chakko, who in a way compliments and supports the cinematography with his editing. The edits feel smooth and never feel cut.
Music - Sam C. S.'s booming background score helps escalate the film into a whole new level (especially in a goosebumps-inducing moment in the climax fight)
Action choreography - Action choreography. We all knew Anbariv were obviously going to kill it with the action choreography. But boy it was WAYY WILDER than I thought. Like every single action scene is choreographed to perfection. 😘
Now, the acting.
Shane Nigam as Robert - This dude is such a good actor, like he has a flexible body and kills both his action and dance sequences. The character Robert practices karate and fights swiftly. Robert specializes in kicks and Shane Nigam portrays that perfectly. Plus his acting is great.
Antony Varghese 'Pepe' as Dony - We all are already familiar with how good Pepe is at action (Angamaly Diaries, Ajagajantharam). But he's on a next level in this movie. He practices boxing and punches in a MADLY satisfying way. His acting is also good in this movie.
Neeraj Madhav as Xavier - Xavier uses the traditional Japanese weapon Nunchaku and also practices karate like Robert. His action scenes with the Nunchaku are crisp and never fail to make you cheer. The actor/rapper also acts his part well.
Also, I want to mention the accuracy of the karate scenes in this movie. As a person who knows stuff about karate, the crew has done a fair share of research about karate (the blocks, punches and other moves). And I would like to appreciate the team effort. Good job guys. 👏🏼👏🏼
Vishnu Agasthya as Paulson - Paulson is a scary and cold antagonistic character who shows off psychotic traits in a particular scene. He is portrayed as a man who has no boundaries (acted beautifully by Vishnu Agasthya) and as a man who will do anything to avenge his mates. You just get goosebumps whenever he's on screen and you have to applaud Vishnu Agasthya for that. The other antagonists (henchmen) are scary dudes too.
Babu Antony as Antony Master - Boy oh boy. I saved the best for the last. Babu Antony kills his role as the badass karate master of Robert and Xavier with ease. He does it with style and makes it look like a cakewalk. He also has a goosebumps-inducing whistle-worthy moment in the climax fight which is worth watching in theatres. 🔥🔥
Others did great too just felt like mentioning some performances that stuck with me after I left the theatres.
The film is not superior on other aspects but the above aspects are more than enough to make it a kickass Onam entertainer. (Way better than the trainwreck that was King of Kotha). Anyways, experience RDX in theatres only, and you'll feel magical!
I loved that they continued to raise the stakes till there was nowhere to run. Action was believable with slow mo thrown in right measure. Interestingly, they never showed the punches and kicks connecting but the before and after of it. Martial art movies usually use that aspect as a high point of action sequences. Keeping that bit out made the action believable.
Shane nigam 🔥
Watched this movie in OTT yesterday with out knowing anything about it. OMG loved it.. Especially Liked Neeraj Madhav, his acted like a real martial artist. Best action movie watched this year. This can be remade in Hindi with Tiger, Vidyut and Randeep Hooda.
I really wish that we had a better backstory on Xavier and their friendship. I loved first half. Second half was a bit underwhelming for me as I found some of the decisions they made then to me a bit nonsensical but overall a great theatre watch
In mollywood 2021-22 for malayalies 'Ajagajaantharam'🔥🔥(out of Kerala Thallumala ) starring Pepe aka Antony Varghese

I hope Shane toes the line tho in getting along and doing the work!
Bro did you know in 2023 150 malayalam movies releases only 3 proper hits
HANGOVER FROM THE DISSAPOINMENT BY DQ AND KOTHA IS STILL NOT OVER
Shane was truly the takaway for me.... He commanded your attention with those eyes
Also the parallel moving cameras in the final fight scene sort of reminded me of the Kamal Hassan reveal fight scene with the cops in Vikram
Shane, pepe, neeraj 🔥🔥🔥this trio is just🔥

sir you are one of the honest reviewer among the others and encouraging regional cinema.. requesting you to pls review the latest movie produced in punjabi Movie "mastaaney" . this movie is beiing overlooked by so many reviewer ... so that it will not implied the unnessary contraversy that you people only promote southern movies
Just got out from a crazy theater experience . The last half hour of the movie was too wild . Probably the best i have had since kgf 2
Really happy that you saw it 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Even their bike choices are justfy character's . Dony strong and less athlete compared to others he is riding honda CD100 bike which is known for her strong Ness. Then Xavier full energetic and stylish among 3 riding RX100 which justify his nature and for Robert he is riding RXZ , 6 speed bike which is known for his high speed and pickup
Now that is what you call a mass movie 🍿

Especially interval fight street fight climax fight gave me goosebumps
RDX is gonna change lives for many of these artists and technicians. You rightly said about connecting the audience with the story and the characters even if the storyline is thin and have been heard before. The sincerity of the actors making us believe they are real friends and family make us root for them. And the villains are also a central part of the story(which you forgot to point out). When they arrive to harm the family in the house or hospital we feel terrified even if they are not there in the frame. We feel their presence through the tension created by editing, camera work and BGM. Sounds very simple but difficult to achieve. Shout out to Editor Chaman Chacko as well.
One gripe though- wanted a bit more action scenes from Babu Antony (the master) who is a real karate champion and black belt holder.

Toby released? Wow. How is it?
I haven't watched it yet but yeah it has released

Few months back, I accidentally saw a video of Shane dancing for some award show and was surprised. Then I realised that he didn't ever danced in movies and was thinking why noone casted him in movies which require dancing. So glad that his dancing capabilites are being explored.
Exactly
He did in Valiya Perunnal
Bro you missed to mention the villian, he was the powerful villian for them
for me his appearance was too sporadic. I wanted him to be the main focus but the creators really dispersed it across several goons in his gang. A more focussed approach on his personality would have probably had a larger impact
