      Yes. Going through those same emotions. We all have our time in the Sun and then it passes. Now we have to witness other people in their time in the Sun. .. And the cycle repeats. Makes me feel melancholy!

I got to be a teen in the 80’s and I am so glad. It was my favorite decade. It sure beat what we are currently living in. Being in my 50’s is not my favorite. Going thru cancer this year has been a dark time and covid and politics has split everyone apart. Makes me very apprehensive about what the future holds. I reminisce about life in the 70’s & 80’s. • @Eyefartconfetti
      @Eyefartconfetti 3 роки тому +15

      I agree. After my separation I thought my kids were good and my ex-husband and I were good so I'm going to start dating. I settled down with someone and 7 months later I wanted my kids to meet him. This was the first time seeing a man besides their father in our home. I was happy and not aware of my kids having to process all this.. because I was "in love"
      Boy, was I blind.
      When that "prince charming" had me hooked he flipped a switch.
      Imagine an F5 tornado 😏
      It took so much strength to kick his ass to the curb I thought I would die. But I knew I had three kids that were learning that disrespect and constant arguing was acceptable. Long story short I needed to get rid of the "cancer" that was destroying us. I made a vow to not date and give my kids the childhood they deserve.
      It's been months since he's been gone and it breaks my heart that I've missed so much time dealing with my relationship drama instead of being the mom they knew before the abuse. But I and grateful they're awesome kids and still respect and believe in me because I gave them my word and showed them by my actions. Another thing I'm raising someone's future spouse so when I see comments like yours its a good feeling knowing there's still some parents with common sense 😊

    Oooh throw back! I LOVE Kristy. Fan since Little Darlings. I ran into her in Sherman Oaks in the early 2000s, when I lived in California. She was sitting outside a restaurant having a bite to eat with a friend. I don't know if anyone else recognized her but a true fan always will. I knew it was her. I'm not a groupie and because she was having a bite to eat, I didn't want to burden her asking for an autograph and/or picture. At the time, cell phones were in their infancy so it would have been just an autograph. I wonder now if she thought maybe that she wasn't important enough for an autograph but... far from the truth. She's an amazing person and actress. I wish we had seen more of her work. Invaluable talent and human being❤ Oh! And she opens this flick with the Disco Hustle!!! Gotta love it!

    Holy crap - forget the divine Linda Lavin (can you imagine someone like her becoming a star today? - ugh, we're such an unimaginative herd now) and the fabulous Kristy McNichol (a teen free form gender persona ahead of her time), what we have her is a TV movie - did you get that - a friggin TV movie - that opens with a steadicam shot from a crane and down through the maze of the apartment in a single take. Unbelievable! The steadicam had only made its debut a mere two years before in Hal Ashby's biopic about Woody Guthrie 'Bound for Glory' - and THAT shot is one of the icons of cinema (it's similar in structure: the camera moves from the crane to ground level through a crowd). The steadicam would become legendary not quite two years later during the hedge maze chase in Kubrick's 'The Shining' - so the fact that it's showing up here is really remarkable. Just another reason that the 70s were pretty much the golden age of TV movies, in all their triumph and trash.
