- Yes, it fell out of a truck while the truck was being driven! But I can't pass up free furniture when it is offered.
I knew the wood was scuffed and splintered in areas but I was determined to fix her and leave as much of the wood exposed on the top as possible.

You are so sweet to do that for her!!! It looks just great in her new apartment! Those stripes are just such a fun look!
Your taping for the stripes was exceptionally well done. A lovely end result.
Super cute! I have read that larger bondo repairs may need a tiny screw or nail partially embedded in existing wood for the bondo to have something to adhere to. Successful refurbs really need more than "slapping on a coat of paint." Your projects turn out great because you do all the prep, sanding, and repairs so well.
Thank you! And you’re right about the tiny nail so thank you for that reminder.
Oh it looks so good! Love it.
This turned out great! I love the stripes. I wonder of doing a light sand with a high grit sand paper or pad would help soften the edges on the stripes so it isn’t raised up. 🤷🏼♂️ For the KwikWood, I’ve never had a good experience with it. I use Bondo or Durham’s Water Putty. It cures rock hard. Like someone else said, add some nails, tacks or screws for the bondo to attach to.
Chris, I wondered the same thing about sanding down the edges of the stripes. I edited out of my video thoughts that I expressed about that. Ultimately, I decided not to because I didn’t want to risk messing up the paint wash next to them since the paint wash was not something I could touch up easily if it was messed up by my sanding. I did a green sack stripe on a coffee table. Those stripes WERE raised and it bothered me. On this table they weren’t raised as much so in the end I was OK with it. But thanks for your thoughts. I always love hearing constructive feedback.
@@tableflippinghousewife I wondered about the light sanding damaging the paint wash. I was just curious about your thoughts on the light sanding. I plan on attempting something similar with stripes in the near future. Keep up the great work and I love your videos.
This is beautiful. For some reason, I’ve never had luck with Kwikwood. It always crumbles or doesn’t dry completely. Not sue what I’m doing wrong. 🤷♀️
Yes, I’ve had some successes and some failures with KwikWood. I do like it to fill hardware holes because it sands smooth unlike other wood fillers that sometimes looks grainy so you can tell that there had been a hardware hole.
