I missed your January video John. This is a really informative video. You are lucky to have such an amazing care team. It is rarely the case to have people so on the ball.
Like you said, it’s very different for all MS patients. My mum was diagnosed 45 years ago in a time when there was no medication or treatment. She initially had relapsing/remitting MS ( I remember her relapsing every December. She would be bed bound for at least a month).
She now has progressive and it has worsened a lot in the last 10 years. She is 69 now. Sadly she was too advanced to receive medications that would have helped stave it off and her mental health issues (anxiety and depression) meant the meds weren’t suitable anyway.
It’s a very different (thankfully) diagnosis these days and you’re doing everything right. You’re informed and proactive. I’ve no doubt you will cope fantastically going forwards.
I’m actually going to speak to my doctor off the back of your first video. I’ve had weird hand numbness and tingly pins & needles pain. My eyesight also seemed to go overnight. I put it down to my age and the numbness to my Fibro or a trapped nerve. I put exhaustion down to ME. My dad’s brother also had MS so I have it in 2 direct bloodlines.
Thanks a lot for this video John and I hope you stay well going forwards x

    Hi John
Glad to hear you are getting good treatment from the NHS.
Stay positive mate and keep well
The NHS do such a good job in these trying times.
Enjoy your channel and all the you tubers who put great content on
Don't watch as much youtube as I used to
But now been a full time carer of a family member, doesn't give me much time to watch.
But I enjoy your content you put out
And channels like yourself keep me going, when I am feeling low.
    All the best John

Getting a diagnosis is half the battle so at least you know what you're facing, mate. I had tests for MS about 15 years ago, but all negative. I was then diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (at my behest as they kind of shrugged their shoulders). Know what you mean about the slurring! When I'm very tired, I sound completely inebriated...and then the fun starts😄 Still, managing to work, write books no one reads and live a busy and happy life. Very encouraging to hear your words.

Hi there John, it's so great that you're doing these videos, not only keeping us appraised of how you're doing, but also that this will most certainly help someone who's just been diagnosed and is uncertain of things. That first video you did on your diagnoses is what gave me the courage to let the community know I had gallbladder surgery over the summer. That was the first time I was ever in a hospital, an experience that turned out great, but not something I'd like to repeat any time soon. Glad your care and medication are working out. Sometimes multiple meds have to be tested before the right one comes up. When you mentioned letting people know you have MS because of the medication, it made me think of when I finally got properly diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and being on the Autism Spectrum, and knowing I had to be honest with others and myself about it being a part of who I am. It's not similar to your situation I know, but it did bring that early thinking. Take care my friend, hope you and the Debs are well, and speak to you soon.

This video will certainly help others in understanding MS, keep looking after yourself John & if feel the need to talk etc you got my number as well as others in the community, Have a great Christmas & stay in touch as always 👍👍👍

Oh man I missed your Jan video so was not aware of your MS diagnosis. Sorry to hear that mate. I know what it's like to live with a chronic illness as I have Crohn's Disease but geez, MS is a whole new level compared to my illness. I hope with the help of the medical professionals and current modern treatments you can still live quite a long and healthy life still and keep the impacts to a minimum for as long as possible. You have way too much physical media to collect and way too many movies to watch yet before you can go downhill! 😊 Absolute best wishes from Down Under with all of it and I'm sure we'll see you on UA-cam for many many years to come yet. Cheers.🤘🎸

    Hey John.
First of all it's great to hear you have a positive mindset through this thing
and i'm glad you looked after so well.
I want to advice one thing to you though:
Please keep listening to your doctor(s) and let them navigate, guide and help you because despite what many people might say,
they are the experts after all, and like all human beings even they are not flawless. As much as people like to pretend that they are wrong and a doctorate or PHD doesn't mean anything,
trust me on this that the internet is full of horror stories and there are a lot of faith healers out there. Also, keep communicating with them because that's how they can help you in the best way.
I know it sounds a bit preachy but when you are the son of a general practitioner you tend to get defensive.
    Cheers mate and keep fighting.
P.S: on a happy note, i send you a message on your instagram account.

Great that you're speaking about this John because this will reach someone who has just been diagnosed and is afraid of what happens next and this is what they need to hear and I'm delighted you're getting the help you need, keep getting the job done.
PS If you do a video right after taking those meds just make sure you're not directly in front of those 88 slasher classics because your whole head will just blend in with them 😀 also if anyone asks why you're turning that color just tell them you've got a touch of the Ferox🙂

Hi John, it can be very overwhelming when being diagnosed with an illness, when I was told I had a degenerative disease of my spine, it knocked me for six but at least I had a diagnosis, which was a relief 🧐 thank god for the NHS.. yeah finding the right balance with medication can be an interesting journey 😃 I’m sure this video will bring a lot of comfort to others that have Multiple Sclerosis and are trying to navigate their condition. Funny enough I edit my video and put in small clips over long sessions as it’s very difficult for me to sit in one position for more than a couple of minutes. Keep strong mate 👍😃👍

John I give you my best wishes for dealing with this and I hope you have a great Christmas. Also, my dad (who I love with my whole heart) was taken in a ambulance over a week ago after a severe stroke, brain bleed, and to put is plainly he will never be the same dad again. I have to visit him every day and it devastates me to see him deteriorate more and more after each day passes. Things are sent to try us my friend, whether we suffer from ill health or have some one in the family suffer. Once again I have to say - please you and your family have a good and positive Christmas!👍👍❤❤

Regarding my mums friend John I'll ask her if she's taking medication for the MS and if so what it is. As I said she was diagnosed 20 years ago, she's 75 now so she was about your age when diagnosed. She had symptoms the first year and zero symptoms since. She said she forgets she has it aside from occasional test results confirming it's still there. I'll drop any info regarding medications that I get off her in the comments mate.
