nobody has ever explained this better. Thank you...I am this guy.
Thanks Tod, enjoy!!
I started golfing again this year and every time I have an issue I seem to find the exact answer from you. Thanks 🙏
Loved the visual explanations detailing the physics of iron v driver swing low spots relative to square club face. Placing foot back an inch is a lot simpler to achieve than trying to finesse the rotation of hands and arms as they swing through the strike zone at about 100mph.
That explains a lot, that's the first time I've understood why in 15 years, it's just clicked, thanks
One of the best explanation I’ve seen so far. And believe me.. I researched that topic before ! Well done
You are a strong instructor. I’m genuinely hitting the back of the range consistently with my driver . Your explanation is to the point and so clear.
Thanks Ali, this is exactly what I needed. I never understood why my irons were straight and my driver had an uncontrollable slice. Top video!
First time I watched your video…and it immediately grabbed my attention because I am straight with the irons and slice too often with the driver. I will take your advice and give it a try tomorrow! Thanks!
Great information. Can’t wait to be able to go and hit some balls and try this out. Big thumbs up!
The visualization with the hula hoop was the most helpful advice about this I've found on the internet. I was compelled to go to the range after watching this and try those adjustments, and I was very happy with the results. I wasn't striping it yet, but the nightmare boomerang slice disappeared. Hallelujah!
Fantastic instructional video! Thank you.
Brilliant... the hoop made it clear what needs to change with the longer clubs. I will suspect that it will also apply to some degree to the longer irons and hybrids, which I also tend to hit right, with the difference that the bottom point will still be slightly past the ball. I'll have to bring this to the range and see what it does!
Another great topic. Thank you!
Why do i always look at your videos when i can't go to the range? Now I'm super hyped to try this.
Great video your best instruction video so far in my opinion please keep up the great work Len.
Amazing helo. Thanks. I was struggling with this for the last month without understanding why.
Thanks for posting this one.
Your video about putting the ball back slightly in the stance with driver paid dividends for me. ( about a ball width back made all the difference, thanks )
Thanks for the tip from another video, which you said, keep the circle. Played today in nz shot a 71 at gulf harbour golf. Best round in 2 years. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
This is really eye opening insight! Thanks Ali!
I used this tip yesterday with the 3 cubs that I slice, driver, 5 wood, and 5 iron with great results, thanks for the tip.
Thanks , brilliant video ...best explanation I have seen.
Good title and video......I adjusted this on my own but nice to hear it from you. Well done!
Omg Ali. I actually get what you are saying and it somewhat resonated immediately which surprised me.lol if this fixes my driver slice like I think it may oh lawd! Thanking you in advance, can't wait to test the theory. Kudos!
Thanks for this, make sense now... Will try at my next range session.
Love the explanation! Thx!
Your videos are excellent. There are many golf improvement videos out there, but your explanantions are most helpful.. Thanks for posting them.
Thank you, glad they help
This is probably going to be revolutionary for me. I watched this about 3-4 times just now. I hit my irons straight, but slice my drives. I'll have to remember this when I hit the range on Saturday and hopefully it benefits me for my tee time on Sunday.
This just makes sense. Excited to try
I've needed this my entire life. Thank you.
You're welcome
Great explanation and hopefully it will help me the slices
Brilliant! Thank you.
Perfect technical explanation that has helped me a lot, thanks:)
Excellent explanation...couldn't be better ...lets apply the theory now
Very clear explanation, first time i understood the numbers relating swing direction!
Glad it helped!
Dropping the back foot back helps heaps.
Makes a lot of sense, thanks.
What a great video. Something to work on!
Thanks...... great Video
The explanation I needed. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
cant wait to take these tips out! thank you
Have fun!
Very good. So, this is the standard draw stance.
Wonder if you've experimented with keeping posture/ stance sqaure at address but with different ball positions and heights. Also with trail shoulder more closed at address. Thanks again and take care!
Good video and explains the fade better! I have been doing this for sometime with great results, however time to time I slip back into this un intention fade so cost myself shots. The annoying thing for me is, I don't like having to manipulate the stance, shoulders to hit out to straighten the ball flight. I do hit up on the ball, put the ball fwd in my stance but I trying to figure out a way of keeping my iron set up routine (if thats a thing :-) but do something else to the swing (when using the driver) so I keep my set up routine which works very well. Any thoughts would be great to hear them! Thanks again!!
Life Changing lesson why Driver needs outside in path
I’m going to go and try and apply. ARM TUCKEDIN
Thanks, I only asked another person 3 mins before your film arrived, I suffer from exactly what you were talking about, lately I’ve had to switch grips from driver to irons to counter the slice, I’ve always hit the driver from out to in and I’ve never had confidence to just hit the ball without thinking where’s this going to end up, I’ll try your advice and hopefully I won’t have to change my grip between clubs, thank you from the land of the long white cloud(nz).
Remember changing grip changes something else. Find out what needs to change and get good at that!!
Eureka! This has been 'my story' for the last two years and it all makes sense now. Roll on 29th so I can try this out :-)
Great video
Thank you
Thanks Ali, hopefully I'll hit it better tomorrow off the tee.
🤞
This video might save my entire golf game for the season
all true ....great info ...gone from 240 yd drives to 290yds
i had this problem and i got a lesson with driver . he changed my path im hitting them right down the middle . now i cant hit my irons strait . they hook or they are fat and hook . i cant hit long irons at all . so at the range yesterday i said the hell with it and opened up the face of my irons like this much = / and i hit them further than i ever have and straighter than i ever had . my 8 i use to hit 125 to 130 now i was clearing the 150 sign . i only had like a half a bucket off of the matt when i tried this and dont know how this will work on grass . it did seem like i had to have less open with higher lofted clubs . . when i use to have a square club face my shots were low and short now they are high and long . i hope i can master this without changing my driver swing . i found this way more consistent by mostly using legs to start back swing and turning shoulders down puts me where i want to be for driver . . please help with some good advice i was really getting frustrated !
Great video. Does the face still perfectly on target line or open a little? When ever I aim a little to the right. I hit a dead straight zero curve shot to the right, the exact spot I was aiming at. Why? Is it to do with my release?
Boom.
Mind Blown.
Finally fixed my slice. (for now)
Explained really well with visuals aids.
I always thought there was nothing wrong with my swing. It was just my swing path. :)
Love it.
Thanks AliTaylorGolf.
I hope that really helps.
I can’t wait to do it, explained very well. Maybe my name won’t be cutter anymore lol
Excellent lesson...ty!😊
Your set-up (in this vid) and mine are similar. I have my right foot slightly behind square and typically hit a nice draw. My issue is that when I try to increase club speed, I often pull/hook!?!?! I'm guessing my arms are out of sequence - ahead of the proper swing???
This is great! But 0:30, I wish that's the only amount of slice my driver had
Haven't watched it yet, but that's me. Sometimes even a nice draw on the irons. I can intentionally fade drives when I need to, but when trying to go middle of fairway, often push right with a fade/slice into trouble.
This is exactly what I need. Ali are you teaching at the moment?
Only online for now, golf reopens in England on 29th March
@@AliTaylorGolf ok mate I didn't know if you were doing one on ones before the courses open
@@Twizzlemenizzle1 I’d love to but not allowed ☹️
Makes sense Ali. Unfortunately I do the opposite- straighter irons, and driver mostly goes left, sometimes big snap hooks. Is that just likely to be too much face closure because the ball is so far forward in the stance?
The same applies if you move your front foot back. You'll be more out to in
Do you have a Posture Lesson?
i could not believe how easy it was to hit 4 and 6 iron high and long after changing face . i think my original path was way over the top and steep . could not hit 3 wood or hybrids either . have not tried them yet with open face
A very good video with one major issue. This is a fix but believe me, from someone who suffers from this, it is in no way simple 😊
It's simple, I didn't say it was easy 😁
Finally im able To understand why i slice the driver and my irons are very straight. Thanks Ali for the simple explanation. Now to the range to practice.
So place the rear foot back behind a bit and feel like I'm swinging the club path out to the right more?
Yep 👍
What if you slice driver and pull , draw/hook irons
Almost got PTSD watching the first 30 seconds. My recovery game is honestly pretty good because of my tee shots lol
Such a hard concept to understand "swing to the right" anybody have a better way of putting it? Got no idea how I can swing to the right?
Open face?
For me the more I swing into out the more I slice it.
This is the missing link lol!
I don't know what you mean by swing to the right. I see you put the right foot back a bit.
More from the inside
@@AliTaylorGolf okay I think I get what you mean now, thanks. From the inside as in close to my right pocket, going outward. As opposed to holding my arms way out and swinging from the outside in
This should be renamed to 'How to SKY Driver'
Why?
@@AliTaylorGolf ii sky it every time I did this drill.
My driver goes more right than forward lol
Draw?>>> a draw starts TO THE RIGHT OF CENTER AND DRAWS> you went totally LEFT!
A draw is a shot that curves from right to left for a right handed golfer. The ball set off where I aimed. Do you mean the ball starts right of where you aim or that I need to aim further right for that shot?
Throw the toe
