I was just about to say this. My dad has properties that he holds on to but people would look up the tax information and call him to see if he was interested in selling. So that is always an option.

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis since I was 16. So its great ro hear someone talk about it ❤ I stay in remission more than out. For those who ask.. when you're in a flare up it's called out of remission.. its not cancer. It's a chronic long term auto immune disease. Thanks Andrea for bringing it to the forefront
Autoimmune disorders run rampant in my family. My father and two of his three siblings had lupus. They are all three now deceased. His remaining sibling had psoriasis. Two of her children have Crohn's disease. Two my dad's cousins had lupus. My brother had lupus and psoriatic arthritis. I have psoriatic arthritis. One of my cousins had psoriatic arthritis. That is just what I can think of off hand. So I completely understand autoimmune issues. It's an overactive immune system. Our immune system is attacking us.
That's exactly how my inlaws got their house! It had been on the market, taken off the market, but they really loved it, so they knocked on the door, made an offer after looking around and got their retirement home.
People don’t have a filter anymore. It’s never been okay to ask anyone if they’re pregnant. Andrea you’ve inspired so many including myself to see what creativity lies inside us all. I’ve learned so much from watching you guys, and I think you’re the loveliest family🤍🤍
Funny, me and my wife got married at 20 & 21, she also is older. We have been together for 38 years now with two wonderful children, Congrats.
Write a letter to the owners of the home you’re interested in. A friend did exactly that and the owners were older and were interested in selling, especially because a young family with kids wanted to make it their home💕. By the way, having people ask me if I was pregnant happened several times when I wasn’t. I had had c-section births and my tummy never went flat again ( and I hated sit ups and exercising)! So they are out there and think it is their place to ask such things!

I'm from the northern east coast. I was taught to never ask about pregnancy. I always acted surprised when they told me, even if they were like 8-9 months pregnant.

@@diywifeonly time I ever asked, you wife was glowing and I noticed she gained a little. Didn't know it was from medication, and I was mortified,never will ask anyone again, ever and I'm 62. I am truly sorry. It has nothing to do with not having a filter or being insecure or even rude. It was plain curiosity and joy, because I thought I saw a small bump. I was happy for you all. It was not something I normally say either. I love you both and your amazing channel! It's not fair for others to verbally attack us that asked because we feel bad enough. It was an innocent mistake. 😢 everyone e even the holier than though make plenty of those for sure. I'm relieved your water damage is being fixed and you 6 feel better! I always wanted 4 children. I Suffered from Cancer, endometriosis, Lyme disease and have 1 son, step daughter and so far 2 Grandchildren! I'm cure of cancer and Lyme etc because of Ivermectin! Regarding the vacant property…
I’m not sure how things work in Texas, but where I live you can go to the tax assessor’s office and get the name and mailing address of the property owner. If you can do that where you are you could write a letter to the owner and see if he or she is interested in selling.

My husband and I have been married for almost 25 years, with 2 adult children in college, and we still don’t have it all figured out. I found you on YT when I was looking for a DIY custom closet, and I noticed your closet layout was similar to ours. You made it look so easy, so my husband and I jumped in (he’s not as excited about my DIY projects, but he’s supportive). Our closet is 75% completed, and YOU gave me the confidence to do it! I can’t thank you enough. I always helped my dad with projects when I was younger, but having kids put my power tools into long-term storage. Watching your master closet video gave me the confidence to go for it!
After this closet is done, I’m planning to do some furniture upgrades using your videos for inspiration. Thank you for rekindling a creative outlet for me.

I’m so impressed about your relationship. I live with a John. We’ve been friends for 55 years. He was in a train wreck when he was 22. He has brain damage in the frontal lobe, which controls anger management, memory 😂and memory loss. well that’s a lot. It’s like living the movie, “ fifty first dates “every day. He likes to argue every night and can’t remember it the next day. When he asked me to come up to Alaska and take care of him, make sure he’s doing the right things. I did and promised him I wouldn’t Lea e his side, unfortunately I wasn’t aware of the fact that he’s abusive, mentally and emotionally. I’m still here after 11 years. My question, I don’t have one, just wanted to share how fortunate you two are with knowing where you are going and have wonderful memories of where you’ve been. This is my life now, I chose to live this life. It’s as good as it gets. I’m not complaining, I want for nothing. I drive a nice vehicle, I live in a newer home, I’m never hungry and I come and go as I wish. I just have to keep reminding myself where the abuse comes from and why. If you got this far , thank you for listening, love you two so much. Please keep us entertained ! You two are a part of me keeping my sanity . From a beautiful place in Alaska, oh by the way, you ever want to get away from it all, there’s a place here to go to. We have a five bed two bath house on an acre. Only one room is set up for guest but I have lots of space out back, lawn, shed and greenhouse, RV space and room for campers.

Maybe a tutorial on spray painting furniture? I tried spray painting shutters yrs ago, it was globby and I gave up. Didn’t know how thin the paint should be etc. I love watching you paint furniture-it turns out SO nice!!
You can knock on a door and ask the question. Keep in mind when those of us older people face going into a nursing home, we can
be forced to turn over our home to the state; to cover the cost of our stay. We can sugn our home over to someone and rent it. However, then we don't receive discounts of reduced taxes.

Lovely to see pictures of you both in your teen years, growing up and falling in love. I have Crohn's so I know exactly how you feel when you have a flare up, eating a good diet is paramount. I think people asking if you are pregnant has something to do with Dean mentioning on a couple of occasions that you were not feeling well and then cuts to you with a slightly bloated tummy and your hand running across it, easy to put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5 lol, having said that.. it's obvious to me why you would be looking a little swollen in the tummy and not feeling great with having Ulcerative colitis, it's a lot to deal with but I have to say, you always look amazing even if you are not feeling the best.
Asking a woman if they are pregnant is the MOST inappropriate thing someone can do. Someone asked if I was pregnant when I was holding my two month old baby!! I told her no, it’s the baby fat that every normal woman have after giving birth! People are so dumb. You are so beautiful Andrea and you don’t look like you are pregnant. You both are are cute ❤

You can go to Planing and Zoning and give the property address and they can tell you what you need to know about the property. Wish you the best ❤
The abandon house you like, go to a realtor and ask all your questions. Or county clerks office and give them the address, you want to do a home search history. Good luck!
The only way I could love you all more is if there was a video demonstrating how to "train" the curtains with painters' tape and steaming - I think that is what you mentioned in the video. Please!! Tip to buy the abandoned dream house!!!!!!! If your property records are available on line send a letter to the owner's mailing address and tell them you are interested. You'd be amazed how many times they say yes! It is often owned by the kids who aren't local. If your records aren't public send a letter to the property address to the attention of "Property Owner". I feel like the worst thing that could happen about the house you drive past, would be to let the opportunity pass without knocking on the door. You may be doing the current owner a good service. Things happen for a reason, and if you are called to that home, ASK!!!

I did that! I asked my neighbor if they would sell their home and they said yes. My husband and I spent 3 months renovating it, adding an entirely new bathroom and another bedroom! You should ask about buying the house. Worse scenario is they say no! We are diyers and have 5 sons!

Appreciate you explaining the DABL reconfiguring. I live in the Tampa area, have watched that channel for years because of the content, home improvements and related shows. A few months ago, it stopped airing all home related content; now only shows old sitcom reruns that are of no interest to me. I was wondering what happened and glad you cleared that up.

QUESTION - Why don't you invest in a trailer for transporting materials. It's frustrating to watch all you do each time you pick up supplies, move the seats, remove the seats, put everything back to pick up the kids. If you had a trailer, just seems it would be so much easier and you'd know materials will always fit. TY

I have unexplained autoimmune issues, and I feel for you! About a year ago, I came to the conclusion that diet (and supplements), was the best way for me to control pain symptoms. I also tried out a medication, (and started eating more types of foods,) and it just wasn’t worth the side effects (weight gain, and not really managing pain), so I also recently have just gone back to my limited diet! It’s a process, but I totally get what you’re going through!
Fellow UC warrior here as well (from the UK), I feel your pain. I was diagnosed nearly 3 years ago and it sucks. The wife and I love you and Dean, keep doing what you're incredibly good at 😎

I'm not sure what the rules are in Texas, but generally there are rules of professional conduct for lawyers that govern billing. I'd suggest carefully reviewing your representation agreement, as most lawyers cannot simply raise the price (rate of billing) without notice to you, unless that was pre-agreed to in your agreement. That my be grounds for a bar complaint. Of course, I don't know the exact circumstances nor Texas' rules, but if that's the case, you might be able to get some of your money back. It may be worth investigating. Sorry that you got such an unexpectedly heft bill from your attorneys. But yes, $5000 is very easy to get through for most lawyers. You have to review how they bill per your agreement, as even if it only took them 5 minutes, your retainer may say they can bill for 30 minute increments.
