Discovered your channel recently (2/2024) and thoroughly enjoy how imperfect the editing is. What I mean by that is all the fun stuff that makes you an ordinary quirky person and the design and diy oops into corrections are left in. The flubs, the giggles, the tripping, the discussions where camera lighting should be, etc. The inserts are silly, the time lapsed construction processes are informative. Just finished watching your childhood home makeover which was fantastic - I want that living space and I'm Not a pink kinda woman.
Watching from how Noah talks about the chest his grandma handed down to him, seems like he's the type of person who takes care of things that are very sentimental, lucky you girl! I think you are both lucky to have each other. Pink is a very warm color. I’ve had pink walls in the homes I’ve lived in since the late 1980’s. It makes everyone’s skin look fabulous, no matter what their hue. Pink walls, red sofa, that’s how I roll!

I love your style. I love green and will not be shy about embracing it throughout my home. I’ve also loved the pink tile texture you used making over your apartment kitchen. I think it's very difficult to give a dog a great life if your life isn't already revolving around a lot of things that are dog friendly. I'm saying this as an absolute dog person who has multiple dogs. A big bunch of my free time revolves around them, and my work hours are also influenced by them.
Before having a dog I couldn’t imagine loving a dog more than my cats (it’s a different, closer bond) but I do 🤦♀️. HOWEVER I still think I’m more of a cat person. Dogs are so much work! At least mine is and I’m not sure I’d get another
So true! In fact it’s worse than having a child, because a child grows and you can communicate with them. When you have dogs, the work never ends. Their needs always take precedence. However, it’s such a strong bond….more than one ever gets with partners or family; primal and real.
I think you really need to love dogs and everything they give you and it makes everything worth but if you're not willing to put in the work, then it's not good for the dog either. we specifically have breeds that want to work a lot, that are bred to have a lot of energy, because that's what we want from a dog, and our dogs are always calm and content at home, but we train, walk, hike, work a lot with them. We also have a cat and I love him just as much, but a dog really is your partner (unless you're someone who has a dog that lives in the yard and that's it).
You both seem like a great fit. It isn’t easy living with anyone else, but good to hear each of you seem to understand compromise is an intelligent decision. Well done! Thanks for sharing.

I discovered Branch through you both, and I purchased a Branch chair a few months ago. It is the best office chair I have ever used! If you're a shorter person (I'm 5'3''), I strongly recommend the Branch Ergonomic chair. Bonus: My cats also love it as a bed. 🐱

This was fun. Thank you for sharing. I don't know if I could compromise my style again. I did that with my first husband (he likes country) 🤮. I'm definitely modern, industrial, NYC chic meets SoCal coastal life, Japanese Zen and minimalist, and definitely comfy furniture. I lean towards a soothing cream, and beige canvas with black, charcoal grey, espresso, and gun metal accents. Then splashes of predominantly blue-based colors. I also love Greek, and Persian ruins, so art pieces like that placed in prominent areas is nice. But pink is a huge "NO" for me. It only goes on my cheeks as blush. 😅 It's a good thing he's able to compromise. I couldn't handle all that pink. 😋 I also LOVE how thoughtful you both are towards each other, and that you communicate. Strong relationship in the making. ❤️
I do agree that when you're moving in with each other more permanently, you do need to adjust. From schedules to dividing responsibilities, and just getting used to how each person does things. I think the effort that's put in is rewarding though :) and definitely adds another layer

It’s nice that you can differ so much, pet preferences, style etc and still have a great relationship. I’ve always found it unrealistic that you need to be aligned in every single thing in order for you to find a good match. That being said, I couldn’t date someone who didn’t like dogs 😅 but that’s just me, everyone has different levels of what’s negotiable and what’s not etc.

I know this comment is super late, but I wanted to give Noah some info from my own experiences of being allergic to almost-all-cats! I grew up with two incredibly fluffy cats, and I was *super* allergic to them (but I loved them, and it was so hard to limit my time with them and escape to a “safe zone” when the allergy symptoms were setting in). This is all while on prescription strength antihistamines for my allergies in general… the struggle was real! 😿 BUT! My ex ended up with a part-Ragdoll cat and I was really worried at first, but it turns out I am 100% NOT allergic to Snow! Ragdoll cats are magic 😻 I also thought maybe this was the one and only cat made of magic that I could be around, but a couple of years ago he got a kitten - this one a Ragdoll Maine Coon cross. I was worried again (and at this point we weren’t really together, so it’s not like I had any kind of say or anything), but he did research and found that Maine Coons are often good for people with allergies too, and he specifically chose another part-Ragdoll because that was the one thing we knew about Snow. New Simba kitten = also made of magic! He then got a 3rd cat a few months later because Simba just wanted to play and fight with Snow, and Snow was pissed about it and was pretty unhappy about not being an only-cat anymore, so he got a kitten for his kitten 😹 Mango was from the same breeder and same cat-parents as Simba, and she’s also magic 😻 Last but not least - I have neighbours on my floor who have two pure Ragdolls, and I catsit them when their people are away, and I continue to be not allergic to them either 😺 I also have a friend with a pure Maine Coon and while I haven’t spent as much time with him as the other 5 cats I’ve extensively tested (😹), I wasn’t allergic to him either - that friend also had bad allergies and that’s the reason he got a Maine Coon, and I have a couple other friends in the same position with Maine Coons I (sadly!) haven’t met. Soooo I’m positive I’m not allergic to Ragdolls, and I’m *reasonably* sure I’m not allergic to Maine Coons either! Which is good, because I 10000% want to get a Maine Coon of my own soon 😻 Final weird tip - apparently both white/light coloured cats and female cats are less likely to provoke allergic reactions in people because they tend to make less of one of the proteins involved. Growing up my cats were both male and one was black 🤧, Snow is mostly white (with patches of orange), Simba is a cream tabby, and Mango is an orange tabby, so maybe this checks out! I was also very allergic to a friend’s shorthaired black cat, but then again, also horribly allergic to a cream coloured Siamese, but then Siamese are known to be particularly bad for allergies (along with Persian/Himalayan, the cats I had growing up! 🤦🏻♀️)! Either way, there is definitely hope for finding other cats you’re not allergic to 🥰 (though adding more cats to a household when the one cat is used to being by themselves is tricky too, and not always a good idea!)
Good info to know since so many people are allergic to cats. I've not been and have always had a cat. But I've had a cat and a dog at the same time too. It'd be unfair for Noah to not have a dog, so since they have a cat, a dog seems right for the next choice. Noah seems to be more giving than Alexandra - he likes industrial, moody, dark and everything is still - pink...
Great video! I agree this helps get to know you two better. I must say, you both have this "adulting" thing down, up to and including the work it takes, the commitment and the flexibility to be in it for the long haul. Not that you need my approval, but with around 78 years of life experience, I think my take is a valid one! I didn't know Lottie had her own channel??? I need to check this out. She is so adorable. I love her fur, but I'm glad I have a short haired kitty, (even though she is constantly shedding, aaaargh!) Boops and purrs to her from my Miz Furbie!

It’s nice that you can differ so much, pet preferences, style etc and still have a great relationship. I’ve always found it unrealistic that you need to be aligned in every single thing in order for you to find a good match. That being said, I couldn’t date someone who didn’t like dogs 😅 but that’s just me, everyone has different levels of what’s negotiable and what’s not etc.

I know this comment is super late, but I wanted to give Noah some info from my own experiences of being allergic to almost-all-cats! I grew up with two incredibly fluffy cats, and I was *super* allergic to them (but I loved them, and it was so hard to limit my time with them and escape to a “safe zone” when the allergy symptoms were setting in). This is all while on prescription strength antihistamines for my allergies in general… the struggle was real! 😿
BUT! My ex ended up with a part-Ragdoll cat and I was really worried at first, but it turns out I am 100% NOT allergic to Snow! Ragdoll cats are magic 😻
I also thought maybe this was the one and only cat made of magic that I could be around, but a couple of years ago he got a kitten - this one a Ragdoll Maine Coon cross. I was worried again (and at this point we weren’t really together, so it’s not like I had any kind of say or anything), but he did research and found that Maine Coons are often good for people with allergies too, and he specifically chose another part-Ragdoll because that was the one thing we knew about Snow. New Simba kitten = also made of magic! He then got a 3rd cat a few months later because Simba just wanted to play and fight with Snow, and Snow was pissed about it and was pretty unhappy about not being an only-cat anymore, so he got a kitten for his kitten 😹 Mango was from the same breeder and same cat-parents as Simba, and she’s also magic 😻
Last but not least - I have neighbours on my floor who have two pure Ragdolls, and I catsit them when their people are away, and I continue to be not allergic to them either 😺 I also have a friend with a pure Maine Coon and while I haven’t spent as much time with him as the other 5 cats I’ve extensively tested (😹), I wasn’t allergic to him either - that friend also had bad allergies and that’s the reason he got a Maine Coon, and I have a couple other friends in the same position with Maine Coons I (sadly!) haven’t met. Soooo I’m positive I’m not allergic to Ragdolls, and I’m *reasonably* sure I’m not allergic to Maine Coons either! Which is good, because I 10000% want to get a Maine Coon of my own soon 😻
Final weird tip - apparently both white/light coloured cats and female cats are less likely to provoke allergic reactions in people because they tend to make less of one of the proteins involved. Growing up my cats were both male and one was black 🤧, Snow is mostly white (with patches of orange), Simba is a cream tabby, and Mango is an orange tabby, so maybe this checks out! I was also very allergic to a friend’s shorthaired black cat, but then again, also horribly allergic to a cream coloured Siamese, but then Siamese are known to be particularly bad for allergies (along with Persian/Himalayan, the cats I had growing up! 🤦🏻♀️)!
Either way, there is definitely hope for finding other cats you’re not allergic to 🥰 (though adding more cats to a household when the one cat is used to being by themselves is tricky too, and not always a good idea!)
Good info to know since so many people are allergic to cats. I've not been and have always had a cat. But I've had a cat and a dog at the same time too. It'd be unfair for Noah to not have a dog, so since they have a cat, a dog seems right for the next choice. Noah seems to be more giving than Alexandra - he likes industrial, moody, dark and everything is still - pink...

Not that you need my approval, but with around 78 years of life experience, I think my take is a valid one!
