LL, now do you get why I preach about thinning your stain? You have much more work time, and even if it is all the same kind of wood, you can put a second coat or third on the parts that are too light. I even thin down my topcoats, and just do more layers, but don't tell anybody.
That thing screamed 80's, the only thing you really did is take the orange out of it. Voila! You saved yourself a thousand bucks+ and kept this out of the landfill. That table is BIG and it now really does look current. Thanks.

One thing you are not mentioning is WHERE could you get a solid oak table made that well??? I bet the thousand + dollar Wayfair are probably solid particle board.

@Lemons to lemonade You surprised me with mixing mineral spirits with stain! I just started using the mineral spirits...since it's used for cleaning paint brushes, wood etc...how does that work? It's such a strong odor I have to use it outside. Does the spirits evaporate with no odor? Very curious...just found your channel

question: i noticed that you used oil based products for this project. on previous ones, i've seen you use acrylic. you are using an air brush sprayer on both. i understand you clean it, but do you have 2 different ones that you use for oil or acrylic? or do you just clean it really well and not worry about the cross contamination? thanks for sharing your projects and how you do them. it is all very interesting.

    • @LemonstoLemonadeFurniture

A few reasons. It takes about 8-10 hrs to edit a 15 min video each week, that doesn't include that extra time it takes to film a project, that's just editing time. That is ultimately one or 2 extra pieces I could do a week that I won't get to bc I need to edit a free how-to for UA-cam. Smaller channels make very little in ad revenue, not a livable wage until you have done this for awhile unless you are just a page that has crazy growth right out of the gate but that hasn't been the case for me. It also gives a way for my very loyal viewers (so grateful for them) that have gotten a lot out of my channel, grown their own businesses or just successfully flipped a piece they didn't know how to, a way to say thank you on a personal level, by pouring back into my business, which is super sweet & always appreciated. I don't ask for it, just put it in the description as an option for those who feel so inclined. Likes, shares and comments are wonderful as well!
