Have you wondered if the dent in your car will just pop out? When the damage is in the fender of your vehicle, it might seem like an easy way to get behind the panel with your hand or some kind of tool to just pop out the dent.
...but that is just not usually the case.
This Infinity came into Excel Dent Removal to repair this damage. The dent in this fender was around 5-6 inches in size. It had a sharp crease down the center and the damage extended out from the dent causing high areas or crowns.
These crowns are caused by the repercussions of the dent. When the impact hits your car, these crowns can push up and out from the dent. We then will need to push back these edges of the damage. By doing this we not only push down the crowns but also move or “flow” the metal back into the dented area.
I had great access to get behind the dent on this fender. I was able to loosen the fender liner and use PDR tools from underneath. I then also had access from the top of the fender. Most newer vehicles are designed with the top inside area of the fender open.
By having multiple options to work on this fender dent, I was able to achieve excellent results.

Wow, Awesome! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge!
Excellent paintless dent repair on that fender damage. I'll be checking out more of your videos.
Thanks! These soft fender dents may appear like an easy fix, but they take a little more extra care to get a perfect repair.
Thank you! Excellent work!
👍👍👍Great job!
Thanks!!
Good Job. In next video we can see your tool cart :)
Sure! Though I don't have much of a tool cart. I usually only keep a few select tools that I use on a small cart I made. Most are for doing hail damage repair and door dings. Then any other tools that are needed for a repair are kept along the wall.
Awesome job, as always!
Thank you!! I appreciate it. 👍
Good work. What tool do you mostly use to fine tune it , rod?
I guess each repair can be different for what tool is used. It won’t always be the same.
Most often the “fine tuning” is just finishing the dent after getting the majority of the damage out. This could be a rod with either a blunt or sharp tip. Finishing also will include blending and knocking down to smooth out the finish of the orange peel in the paint.
What do you call it when you hit a pole and the fender looks like a "V" ? Is that T-boning? Sandwich boarding?
I’m not sure what it’s called, but I’d call it collision damage if it is in bad shape.
Nice job do you wet sand at all what grit greeat work !!!
Yes. If needed I can wet sand or I’ve have switched to “dry” sand with Tole Cut. I have 2000, 2500, and 3000 grit. I often will just use the 3000 when it’s needed.
Hi. How much did it cost to fix the dent?
Thanks for checking out the video.
If you watch the video again you’ll see that I use a price guide to measure the damage. On that guide it shows some standard costs for paintless dent repair.
Since this dent was around 5-6 inches then the average cost for a dent this size can range from $250-$450.
Were you on the movie Sandlot ?
Nope. Wasn’t me.
Excellent video, great work I wish you were around Illinois Iowa area ✌️
Thank!! You should be able to find a couple good techs in your area.
Good videos can i learn this ???
PDR is possible to learn but not everyone can do it.
It just takes lots of patience and practice to achieve excellent results.
I would compare it to a 2-4 year education. It can take 2-5 years of work every day to be able to do paintless repairs to an acceptable level. The advantage is that you could be making money while you are learning.
Also expect to make a large investment 💲💲💲 in good training in those first 2 years.
