Thanks Josh! Great review! For everyone watching/reading to be clear that the ammo cans ARE NOT weatherproof and we really try to make sure people know this. The drawers, however, ARE weatherproof. We have made some improvements over the past year which has improved the ammo cans weatherproof nature, but still not 110%. We want to be completely transparent on this topic so noone is bummed. We also don't claim the drawers to be waterproof like tupperwear. But anything falling from the sky or car wash will not get into the drawers. But if you back into a lake... your drawers will fill with water. That's just the nature of how the drawers slide into the drawer cavity. Thanks again Josh! 5 stars on your channel!

Great work Josh! I picked up a difference between your vid and Decked's vid - The tie down rails screw into the steel ladder frame of the system, not just the plastic surface. Yes, they're limited, but think more like refrigerator and less like a cooler and beach chairs. The tie downs are rated for 500 pounds. Thanks for the vid!

If you live in western Arizona, they become brittle in the heat. Decked has responded, but the replacement part doesn't fit, because It's not heat warped. Trying to get top part replaced. We'll see. It works great, no issues with drawers but it WILL become brittle

So bottom line is, if you could carry it on a flat bed pickup..your good to go with this!!
Which is most stuff..wood, lumber, pipes, etc..just lay it, and strap it down. Smaller stuff under 5' you can put directly in the drawers.
That just my opinion of course.
I have been looking for a system like this to carry my guns to and from the range in. I need to find out the "exact" size of the drawers first however. Also I would like to find a supplier of "large cut it yourself foam blocks" that would fit in there snuggly. Or I can leave them cased and in the drawers, if the drawers are big enough.
Thanks for the video bro! Nice work!! 😁👍

I liked your review. I've had my Decked system in my Tundra for several years as well, and I don't regret the decision to purchase it one bit. I didn't go with the trax system to this point as I use the track/tie down system along the bed rails that is standard in the Toyota - I use it to keep a water jerry can, and a 2200w Honda Generator from moving around most of the time. I have two of the DBox's, but I purchased the smaller Crossbox, and I actually prefer the smaller box as I can compartmentalize like equipment (one is fly fishing specific) and it is lighter to move around. If I recall correctly at the beginning of the instructions it has you drill holes in the "dimples" at the bottom of the ammo box for drainage - so they were not meant to be waterproof. I have a Leer shell and also use the system as a sleep platform. With the 6.5' bed, I can actually have one of the "lower" cots with a sleeping pad already set up for no hassle camps, and I can store stuff between the cot and the top of the Decked system. The biggest plus to this system is "out of sight, out of mind" - and the black blends in with the spray in bed liner so you don't really "see what you are seeing..."

    • @andresenriquezjr5558

do you still have access to factory tie down points in your truck?

    • @cobblecrazy
      @cobblecrazy 4 роки тому

@@andresenriquezjr5558 The Decked system uses the four corner tie downs as its anchoring points, but I still have the sliding "anchor" points in the tracks which run along the sides of the truck bed (or can be moved to the front track). I've used them to anchor a variety of things, and have never had a problem - even over long periods driving over rough/off-road terrain. I guess if I really needed to utilize the corner tie downs the Decked system can be easily removed in about 15-20 minutes then re-installed. Decked has the tie down system that is supposed to screw down into the platform and apparently serves as a pretty good anchoring system, but I have not seen the need to get them yet.

I might consider getting this, but only if they can do customizations - such as a Shorter length version for Trucks that want to keep their Truck Boxes - Also allow the option for 1 large drawer instead of 2 separate drawers. It would be far more accommodating this way for all kinds of applications and purposes... Just a friendly suggestion.

I added small rubber tubing around the ammo boxes with about 1/4" gap to prevent vacuum lock and it'll survive standing water. Cost about $4. Wish it were 1/2 in wider so I could add frontrunner worlfpack storage box inside of them. The toolboxes are nice, however. On a side note... the Decked system is NOT resistant to find dust/sand as when Overlanding. The toolboxes are, of course.

Great review Josh. I have been contemplating purchasing this for my truck and your video has pushed me over the edge. Personally, I would use the drawer system way more than the full capacity/volume of the truck bed when empty. As you mentioned, you get around 10" or so of depth with the Decked system installed. Seems like a solid unit and watching you jump up and down rigorously not only made me laugh but shows how tough the unit is two years after install. Great video and thanks for sharing!

Phenomenal review! Im lusting after this system pretty bad.
The only thing that's stopping my purchase is the transferability to my next pick up truck in the next year or so.
In other words once you make this investment it's pretty much custom fit for that truck, and would not necessarily transfer to your next vehicle, as opposed to other generic toolboxes which are easily transferred from vehicle to vehicle.

This is a great idea. If the underside of the deck (ceiling of the drawers) were smooth this wouldn't happen. But, yes, if you have unstable items in the drawers, they will inevitably shift and catch. I notice this most with fishing poles. I've broken the tips off a couple rods by collapsing them and tossing them in a drawer.

Would snowboards/skis fit on top (with bindings attached)?

I dumped mine after having it a year. I was very hopeful because I thought it would really help me organize my tackle and keep it secure. The drawers are a terrible shape for holding and storing Plano tackle boxes.
For the space you lose with the drawers and dividers, it’s just not worth it. I even purchased some of their accessory boxes and they are oddball sizes, poor quality and an inefficient design. Also, the deck exes system elevates your bed so you absolutely have to tie down all cargo since the wind dynamic has changed.
You would be better off buying a bed slide and a bunch of yeti or tucker boxes.

Can you fit a children's stoller into the drawer system? I know the dimensions are a bit small but I was curious about one of those umbrella strollers

Wow, thanks! Not getting paid by Decked at all. Just trying to chip away at my hobby of building a UA-cam channel. Thanks for the encouragement.

Do drawers lock? Looks like I see one but to be sure.
