When people say technical players are no emotion and all technique. The man is literally putting every emotion into his playing, his heart and soul. He’s one with his instrument!
I see this argument a lot and it makes no sense to me. Just sounds like people being salty that he's better than their favorite guitarist. Any examples of what guitarists these people cite as being soulful/emotional or whatever?
@@t.h8919 I agree completely! They try to negate their lack of practice and know how by shaming players who have spent thousands of hours learning their craft and bettering themselves. It’s really an insult to call them emotionless when guys like Vai, Petrucci and others literally pour emotion into every lick
First they start laughing and joking of Vai's manners, but then the thing starts to get serious and they see what he is all about: playing the best guitar they ever seen.
Guys, out of hundreds if not thousands of reaction videos I’ve watched, this is hands down my favorite reaction video. You elevated this video that I have seen dozens of times to a new level and I loved every second of this reaction!
Love Steve Vai. He has such control and precision over the guitar, such a great guy and so humble and full of wisdom. Just one of those guys you would love to hang out with. Ok, please check out these incredible Vai songs. 'Windows to the Soul', 'Frank', 'Juice', 'The Riddle', 'Warm Regards', 'Hand on Heart', 'The Crying Machine', 'Sisters', 'Sunshine Electric Raindrops', 'Bad Horsie', 'Touching Tongues', 'Die to Live', 'For the Love of God'...........one of the most versatile guitar players on the planet. Enjoy 😊
I have laughed a lot with you. We all know that Steve Vai is super virtuous on the guitar and also eccentric. What amused me the most was your genuine reaction and how she wanted to hold back her laughter so as not to offend people who saw your reactions. xD
There are guitarists who are masters on their instrument, and there are guitarists who are master performers. Steve Vai embodies both aspects. You get phenomenal guitar playing as well as a phenomenal performance every time.
Omg. You guys crack me up on this one. My first concert was in 1989 when I was 16. It was Whitesnake and Steve Vai played guitar for them on that tour. He did I think four songs of his solo effort passion and warfare. He is amazing. Has been my favorite guitar player ever since
One of the most amazing electric guitar players ever. I grew up listening to Hendrix and all the other greats but I don't think Steve Vai has even reached his peak yet. By the way his wife Pia was the bass player in Vixen
The guitar needed a cigarette after this. And one of you two might be pregnant now. 😏 Edit: it's conscious, on purpose. With skills like that, he has an ego to match. But in a funny way.
I KNOW YOU'RE HERE, Steve vai, with the triple neck guitar solo start to the tune, and Steve even sings near the end of the song. Best wishes from the UK.
I love watching reactions to this. Saw Steve in concert at a pretty small venue in Yokahama .. Standing a just a few meters away from doing all for over two hours was just insane.
I've been in his shows twice, here in my hometown, and his shows are even more orgasmic than this. Cheers from Barcelona guys, keep going with this cool content! :D
I got to see Steve on one of those G3 tours way back and it was a killer guitar show but Steve was also a total pro, a real showman with the wardrobe changes and the whole thing. Definitely can see how there wasn't enough room alongside David Lee Roth. Travis- those laughs are hilarious!
Damn Travis, you have the best laugh ever, it's fucking infectious... you should sell it to Hollywood! Great reaction to the greatest guitar player ever arguably, spider fingers himself. And definitely the most amusing reaction to him to date. Hope you check out more of his library. Rock on! 🤘
You got me laughing so hard, Steve Vai has been my favorite guitarist for a very long time, and he can be definitely over the 🎩 top,but when you're that good what can you say, 😂
Yo I’m dying these guys were laughing so much I couldn’t stop laughing myself. I know exactly what bro is doing but seeing you laugh at it makes me realize how weird we look when we play 💀😂I’m dead
that was one of our first experiences seein him. now that i have watched a lot of him. its totally his humor mixed with skill coming out. I have seen him do these little comedy skits on stage too. thats my belief. I think hes messing with all of us. Hes an entertainer not just a musician. and hes a Great one!!
He comes across on stage like he is so into himself and it’s a stage thing. In person he is incredibly humble…which really surprised me. Such a great guy!
Lol, I love seeing new reactions to people watching Steve Vai... I've been listening to Steve Vai since the early '90s, he's one of my all-time favorite guitarists... It's so great to watch reactions to the way he becomes one with his guitars. You can check out Joe Satriani as well, who taught Steve Vai how to play guitar when he was 15 years old.
OMFG this reaction was legit as Steve Vai playing this song 😂😂😂 I love Steve Vai, but I have to accept that fact that this particular Tender Surrender is kinda hilarious. My stomach hurts by watching you guys laughing and being impressed at the same time. I don’t remember the last time I laugh so much 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 well done!
I thought this was live until I read an interview where he was talking about having to learn his fingerings from the album for the camera. There are other songs on the video where he plays more than 1 part at a time. English guitarist Guthrie Govan who plays for the instrumental rock trio The Aristocrats has lessons online on how to play this song. ( You saw "Blues Truckers", try "Sweaty Knockers - live in L.A." or "Bad Asteroid" from the same show.). To find out what Steve is like as a person, see the UA-cam video "Steve Vai happy with deep depression", about how he went through some stuff that changed his perspective.
OMG i love that you loved him! i will check and come back with 2 suggestions so you can appreciate his unique personality better... wanna be his friend??? it might even be possible, he is this kind of genious, a very comunicative, humble and accessible person. Cheers from brazil, loving you guys channel.
Also this is my favorite guitar solo ever... and hes not even in my top 10 favorite musicians lol this solo live played the way he did its just priceless he really is one with his instrument lol and uses it to express himself perfectly
I think you're over thinking the fact that to convey such emotion with an instrument, one has to experience them and embody them. This video shows and extreme emotional immaturity between the both of you
Why r u laughing? He is a living legend. He is unique. I don't think u haven't got a single piece of vai's talent. U make fun of yourself when you make fun of these legends.
For a first listen/watch, I'd recommend the non-orchestra version. You miss so much of his playing in the orchestra version because the beginning is mostly the orchestra. I'd rather hear him playing.
I love this reaction vid.. I had a great time watching yas. To let you guys know, Steve Vai has been married to Pia Vai for I think nearly 40 years. Pia Vai used to be bassist in the all woman band Vixen. Cheers!
It's worse than that, when he says that, the look on her face is a cry for help. Camera is running, and after they cut it, she knows they won't be able to get it on until the kid is in bed, probably. That being said, and this is only partially related, there is nothing more attractive than a woman who is turned on.
I've loved Steve since I fist heard Yankee rose when he was with David Lee Roth. way back in the 80's when he made his guitar laugh and talk! You should check put that video!
I loved this reaction just laughing my head off together with you guys for 12 minutes. Not to take anything away from Steve Vai who is a phenomenal guitarist and played for a little while in one of my favourite bands Whitesnake, but you guys were the entertainment here.
thank you! like i said in a few other comments knowing we are being filmed and being watched by others while we watch the video makes it more uncomfortable and so that increases the laughter.
Guys you don't need to explain yourselves I get it. It is because of the way you are that we all love you guys and your reactions so much so don't change.
he uses a lot the lydian mode. also joe satriani was his teacher. joe live surfing with the alien is another must see from this generation of shredders
When people say technical players are no emotion and all technique. The man is literally putting every emotion into his playing, his heart and soul. He’s one with his instrument!

Sounds like those people are on industrial strength copium.
His and Joe's guitar sing , literally 😊☺️
Bruv, the emotion on this piece is so strong that it has the power to make any girls pregnant
watching Steve Vai is straight up guitar porn lol
Steve Vai doesn't "play guitar". Steve Vai makes passionate love to his instrument!
I absolutely love how he goes from jazz to blues to face-melting shred all in one song.
What part of it was jazz?
@lavkumar420 the beginning. Starts out with a smooth jazz guitar sound.
this man is easily one of top5 best guitarist ever
Legends says that his guitar has birthed many of his children
Travis's laugh is so infectious while i loved Susi's smile.
thank you
he laughs like a monkey at the end xD
First they start laughing and joking of Vai's manners, but then the thing starts to get serious and they see what he is all about: playing the best guitar they ever seen.
Steve is the best! He's created techniques others simply can not achieve, pure master 🥰
Dude feels every note! He used to play with Frank Zappa!
He played with Whitesnake too
Guys, out of hundreds if not thousands of reaction videos I’ve watched, this is hands down my favorite reaction video. You elevated this video that I have seen dozens of times to a new level and I loved every second of this reaction!
Another great song from him: Steve Vai - Bad Horsie
JIBBOOM
i laughed wd u and praise dis fellow wd u. steve vai omg and u rockz..
😈🐴🐴
Bad horsie is a fucking great song.
Yes Bad Horsie is amazing!!! Shame most reactions are to this song :
OMG 😂 my stomach hurts from laughing so hard lol. Great reaction.
Glad you enjoyed
I lost it when he put his hand up to his face/peeking🤣🤣. Just got into watching reaction vids. Friend of mine told me about ur vids. 👍👍
Love Steve Vai. He has such control and precision over the guitar, such a great guy and so humble and full of wisdom. Just one of those guys you would love to hang out with. This guy has a really infectious laugh! I've had a bit of a tough week and watching this on a Friday brings a big ol' smile to my face :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
There are guitarists who are masters on their instrument, and there are guitarists who are master performers. Steve Vai embodies both aspects. You get phenomenal guitar playing as well as a phenomenal performance every time.
He's one of the few people that has earned the right to be this way. A true professional and master of his instrument.
5:30 yup...Steve Vai always looks like he's making sweet sweet love to his guitar xD
This is my favorite reaction video on the whole web.
Steve Vai is up there among the greats of all time.... For the love of God is his most recognisable song btw...
Omg. You guys crack me up on this one. My first concert was in 1989 when I was 16. It was Whitesnake and Steve Vai played guitar for them on that tour. He did I think four songs of his solo effort passion and warfare. He is amazing. Has been my favorite guitar player ever since

I think I get it now!
Steve Vai is simply the GOAT.
The guitar needed a cigarette after this. And one of you two might be pregnant now. 😏
Edit: it's conscious, on purpose. With skills like that, he has an ego to match. But in a funny way.
That is his stage persona. In person, he is a considerate person. Driven and confident but not egotistic.
He's incredibly humble. He's kind of weird, I guess, but far from arrogant.
Bwahahahahahaha
This guy doesn't play, he literally make love with the guitar hahahaha lml
I KNOW YOU'RE HERE, Steve vai, with the triple neck guitar solo start to the tune, and Steve even sings near the end of the song. Best wishes from the UK.
Yo ur laughs are pretty contagious not gonna lie :D laughed a lot thanks!
I love watching reactions to this. Saw Steve in concert at a pretty small venue in Yokahama .. Standing a just a few meters away from doing all for over two hours was just insane.
7:07 When you remember a Bad Joke.. but you're at the Funeral xD
Awesome that yall got the meaning of this song most reactors don't. With all Steve songs everyone picks up on the mutual meaning with no words
I've been in his shows twice, here in my hometown, and his shows are even more orgasmic than this. Cheers from Barcelona guys, keep going with this cool content! :D
Ok that was fun was laughing along with you guys and ive seen this performance hundreds of times haha
I got to see Steve on one of those G3 tours way back and it was a killer guitar show but Steve was also a total pro, a real showman with the wardrobe changes and the whole thing. Definitely can see how there wasn't enough room alongside David Lee Roth. Travis- those laughs are hilarious!
Gilakk 😁😁🤣🤣 mntap bgt reaksiny saya smpai terbahak bahak 🤗😄😄

I seen a lot of your videos but this video here made me subscribe!! Love it
I've loved Steve Vai for 30 years and every time I see him fix his hair mid-lick it still cracks me up every time! Love the reaction!
Back in the early 90's I think, when I first heard him. He was on a magazine cover with the title "The High Priest of Guitar"
Yo I’m dying these guys were laughing so much I couldn’t stop laughing myself. I know exactly what bro is doing but seeing you laugh at it makes me realize how weird we look when we play 💀😂I’m dead
Don’t worry that was my reaction to guys hahaha
that was one of our first experiences seein him. now that i have watched a lot of him. its totally his humor mixed with skill coming out. I have seen him do these little comedy skits on stage too. thats my belief. I think hes messing with all of us. Hes an entertainer not just a musician. and hes a Great one!!

5:17 ..this is why reaction videos are so popular..that genuine laughter is infectious
He always puts on a show. That’s what he does
I keep coming back to this video because Travis's laugh is so contagious
I can’t even comment. Steve is a GOD. I just wish he could play on me like that lol 😇😅🙈😍😍😍😍
Finally someone who enjoys him as much as do haha
When music gets the waters flowing. 🙏😌💧
Out of all the reactions you have done this is my favorite. It makes me laugh every time!!!
Every time Steve opens a guitar case, a golden light shines forth and one hears "Bow Chicka Wow Wow".
Lol
Every time I see Steve slick his hair back I think...
I saw a werewolf drinkin' a piña colada at Trader Vic's
His hair was perfect
OMG, I have never seen this video, holy crap that was GREAT and Steve playing like that was fun as hell, I needed a paper towel after that.
Stumbled across this and you guys have honestly made my night 🤣 The way yous just lost it 🤣🤣
LOL 😂😂 Funniest reaction ever. Great one guys!
Lol, I love seeing new reactions to people watching Steve Vai... I've been listening to Steve Vai since the early '90s, he's one of my all-time favorite guitarists... It's so great to watch reactions to the way he becomes one with his guitars.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are these 2 people in a band and they didn't know who Vai is?
Also the guitar duel from the movie Crossroads 😁
He actually plays BOTH parts 🤘
Steve Vai becomes one with his guitar.
He plays with feel and emotions.
Gotta react to some Steve Vai.. Building the church live.. The one with like 1.3m views.. Bad Horsie.. Whispering a prayer.. To name a few. 😎🎸🎸
Whispering A Prayer is a masterpiece.
I thought this was live until I read an interview where he was talking about having to learn his fingerings from the album for the camera. I'm just laughing so hard and i love it thank you!!!
Did you guys know how Steve Vai was before this video? He's always seems so cool and modest in his interviews.
He like... sensually?? Touches the guitar! I don’t know if that’s weird af or what but I’m glad he does it! Lmao
Best reaction on this by far. Haha, y'all were both blushing
I'm sorry for the second comment LOL but you guys literally had me in tears on this one
I've never seen anyone laugh so much to this. Great reaction!
OMG i love that you loved him! i will check and come back with 2 suggestions so you can appreciate his unique personality better... wanna be his friend??? it might even be possible, he is this kind of genious, a very comunicative, humble and accessible person.
Cheers from brazil, loving you guys channel.
Best Steve Vai reaction I have ever seen. Love the channel
Also this is my favorite guitar solo ever... and hes not even in my top 10 favorite musicians lol this solo live played the way he did its just priceless he really is one with his instrument lol and uses it to express himself perfectly
Nobody has more stage swag than Steve Vai. Guy is an absolute monster. His catalogue is so diverse.. It puts so many other guitarists to shame.
I think Prince is probably the only other guy I can think where both him and the guitar have a cigarette afterwards.
I think you're over thinking the fact that to convey such emotion with an instrument, one has to experience them and embody them. This video shows and extreme emotional immaturity between the both of you
THE GUITAR SMOKE A CIGARRETE AFTER THIS, YOU KNOW WHY
He made the guitar surrender......tenderly.....🥰
Great reaction guys, i died watching you love from the DR
MAGISTRAL and SUBLIME.! Por siempre e pensado que este tipo es un DIOS de la Guitarra.!
And yeah, that's Steve Vai in the picture here with me,meet&greet in 2013.Signed my guitar \m/
Steve Vai is the greatest guitar player of all time !-
Steve Vai - For the Love of God, Live at G3 1996 please!
Can we all agree we all needed a cig after this vid?
And I don't even smoke!
The Audience is Listening is mandatory Steve Vai ! Heads Up !
The best comment on UA-cam belongs on this original video.
“ If you play this in Japan, his fingers are blurred out.”
Why r u laughing? He is a living legend. He is unique. I don't think u haven't got a single piece of vai's talent. U make fun of yourself when you make fun of these legends.
You should check Steve vai- for the love of god
I always recommend the video for it not the live performance. The video does that sound so much Justice
@@pjsin9472 I agree
For the love of God, what a song! Especially the orchestra version..
Live, with symphony! Full version!
For a first listen/watch, I'd recommend the non-orchestra version. You miss so much of his playing in the orchestra version because the beginning is mostly the orchestra. I'd rather hear him playing.
Steve Vai doesn't play solo's, he just plays guitar...
I love this reaction vid.. I had a great time watching yas. To let you guys know, Steve Vai has been married to Pia Vai for I think nearly 40 years. Pia Vai used to be bassist in the all woman band Vixen. Cheers!
This is his love song to his beautiful instrument.
Probably a million people nave written this before me….it’s fucking STEVE VAI!!!!
Lovely Elixir, Windows To The Soul, For The Love Of God, and Lotus Feet all by Steve Vai fuckin great listen to that shit
The way she licks when he says "girls must be jealous of his guitar, this guy must catch plenty of girls" denounces the statement as truth.
There's a reason why Zappa brought him into his band when Vai was only 18 years old. And, it wasn't because of how cool he was on stage.
This reaction is Great! The Wolf Hunterz Rock!! Thanks
4:53 for the love of god live with an orchestra. the one in which he's wearing a white tshirt
Inspirations to reality in an instrument.... let the music do the talking
Magic, magic reaction! Loved the playing and the laughs! MORE, please!
More than one year later, I just wanna comment that u guys are amazing! U just made me laugh so much, greetings from Brazil!
One of the most inspirering guitar Videos!
he uses a lot the lydian mode. also joe satriani was his teacher. joe live surfing with the alien is another must see from this generation of shredders
