I don't know if you'll get this because it's been so long, but Mike Keneally is playing a Coral Sitar, so good ear! That's Philip Bynoe on bass, currently on tour with Steve. I regret that don't remember this drummer's name. The last few times I've seen Steve in concert, including this past Wednesday, Jeremy Colson was on drums and Dante Frisello was on second guitar and keyboards. This video clip is from 2000 and I assure you, Steve and the band can still melt faces off. Glad you enjoyed it!
Steve Vai is always worth listening to, thanks for posting a reaction. I like the mix of artists I've heard on the channel and I like that the two of you seem to enjoy what you're doing. Cheers
Thank you so so much! There's so much good music out there why stay with one genre 🙂i guess we don't want to do videos just for the sake of views etc etc, thanks for being here! There's some interesting and crazy stuff to come!
One of the first mind blowing and finger crippling videos I had a chance to witness as a guitar-learning teen. A bit painful at first but man this is just crazily good hehe
@@RealLifeCoupleReact if you search for G3 you’ll find other lineups as well, this is my favourite SV track but I favour JS, I have learned one of his songs - Tears in the rain, it’s a grade 8 piece for exams.
Greatest solo of all time, I love the sound and feel of this song. I knew even at 15 when it was new and hadn't been anywhere but on my little cassette tape, that it was the best guitar work I'd ever heard and I've heard many of the greats. Other must hears by him are Tender Surrender, Erotic Nightmares, Teeth of the Hydra, Bad Horsie, Sisters, Candle Power, or for a fun video: The Audience is Listening.
Steve grew up on Long Island in New York.. along with Joe Satriani.. who he took lessons from and says there would be no Steve Vai if not for Joe Satriani
If you want a Steve Vai bedroom song than I recommend Tender Surrender. You'd think Steve is sleeping with his guitar (ua-cam.com/video/Yw74sDWPH7U/v-deo.htmlsi=mU8KPrdpKgLkvATi)
By the way, Yuki of D_Drive and East of Eden covered this song....if you want to see the hand work it's very clear in that video. Let me know if you need the link.
Yuki and Saki and Miyako are my Holy Trinity of Japanese female guitarist! Yuki is so underated. You know she always wanted to be a dancer liker her sister, but the teacher told her she was too fat ( imagine that, she like 100#) so her dad got her to learn guitar to help her get out of her depression. Apparently Yuki's father is a pretty good guitarist and so is her brother.
More Steve Vai - anything from the concert "String Theory" is pretty awesome. Also as so many others suggested, you have to check out Joe Satriani - he was one of Steve's early teachers.
Hahaha double mention of "bedroom music" followed by that look ... I mean lol this is too much. Soooooo cuuute. Peculiar choice of track, but it's a monument of guitar wizadry to me : )

Thanks for picking the 'correct' one haha. This tour with Mike Kenealy is so much better than the performance with the out of tune orchestra that everyone seems to pick 🤦🤣🤣
The wife is correct, it is bedroom music I mean the melodies. Steve Vai loves to make the songs sexual and sensual. Tender Surrender is very much the same. Guitarists and musicians in general, are fascinated by the techniques. But other people usually just love what they hear and can appreciate the talent. Many women also pick up on how sexually Vai handles his guitar and when we guys see something technical and we are amazed by that, they might have some other emotions. Or that's what I've observed.
as belle loves her girl power there is a french girl called tina s who does a cover of this, she was only 15 at the time. she also did dragon forces through the fire and flames and a few more. i saw stevie vai at the astoria a good while back, brilliant guitarist, but a bit of a poser lol
You really don't have a clue do you? Stop the video to explain what a whammy bar is? You really need to be advertising washing up liquid because you know nothing about the guitar!
There’s many good electric guitarist but Steve Vai is at the top. 40 year career and still playing today like he was in the 80s🤘🏻
Dropping some Guthrie Govan in the next day or two 🤟🤟
@@RealLifeCoupleReact Govan is real good yeah but no where near as emotional. Vai is the God.

Drummer Mike Mangini. Recorded 1996
If you think that is bedroom music, wait until you see & hear him play 'Tender Surrender' live.
One of the best, you should do Tender Surrender next

Never gets old.
Thats not talent. That is 100% pure mastery skill.
Steve Vai is one of the best! He's influenced many a young guitarist. This is my favorite from him! Thanks!
Amazing and such a great show!!

Geniooo
Steve vai the sound of alien in the guitar
I once heard it referred to as “scrogging” music. Of course, you’d have to be really old like me to know what that means.
O melhor te todos, ninguém compôs na área do rock feito ele 👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌
learned it all from frank zappa. took it to a whole new level
You should also react to Steve Vai - “Tender Surrender”
Imo, the best live version is from Expo 92 Saville concert. It's on UA-cam I think.
