  • After a few days with little sleep and some fever and headaches, we spent 24 hours sitting in the arrival hall of manchester airport. There were constant announcements and all sorts of annoying noises.. needless to say, there was nothing to do and we went crazy.

I'm really sorry to hear about your difficult experience at Manchester Airport. Such prolonged delays, especially with little sleep and health issues, can be extremely challenging and stressful. It's understandable that you felt frustrated and overwhelmed.
In situations like this, it's crucial to prioritize your well-being and try to find ways to cope with the circumstances. Here are some suggestions for handling extended airport stays:
    1. **Seek Medical Attention:** If you're experiencing fever and headaches, it's essential to prioritize your health. Consider visiting a medical clinic or speaking to airport staff about your symptoms.
    2. **Find a Quiet Spot:** While airports can be noisy, some areas might be quieter than others. Try to locate a less crowded and quieter corner where you can rest and relax.
    3. **Use Noise-Canceling Headphones:** Noise-canceling headphones can help drown out the constant announcements and other annoying noises, making it easier to rest.
    4. **Stay Hydrated and Eat:** Continue to drink water and eat balanced meals to ensure you're properly nourished and hydrated.
    5. **Engage in Mindful Activities:** If you have access to a meditation app or mindfulness exercises, they can help reduce stress and anxiety during your wait.
    6. **Contact Your Airline:** Reach out to your airline's customer service to inquire about the status of your flight and whether there are any updates or alternative arrangements.
    7. **Entertainment and Distractions:** Bring books, magazines, or electronic devices with you to keep yourself occupied. You can also try engaging in conversation with fellow travelers to pass the time.
    8. **Consider Accommodation Options:** If the situation doesn't improve, you may want to explore the possibility of booking nearby accommodation and returning to the airport when your flight is closer to departure.
Remember that airport delays and disruptions are not your fault, and it's essential to prioritize your health and well-being during challenging times like these. If you continue to experience health issues or need assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to airport staff for help and guidance.
