Thanks for taking the time to do this and upload it. It was a great demonstration and turned out as well as I had hoped. Gonna try this on my old laptop and see how it comes out, too. Lenovo is a great old laptop to have as I understand they were built like tanks! Anyway thanks again and looking forward to more demonstrations!
+David McClelland you're welcome, I have more videos on the way and have a good size list of requests you guys have given me. Going to keep working on them to get them out there
I usually skim through 5 minute tutorials, yet somehow watched this all the way through start to finish only to realize it was 25 minutes... good job man
I’d love to see a video like this doing small items but where you’ll be able to see all sides. It’s a lot easier when you’re only doing the top/sides and not also the bottom of something in my experience.
You should show how to wrap a monitor! A lot of people are opting to wrap their monitors over spray painting now so I think it would be worth having a video about !
Nice video! Im impressed with Vivid that the embossed logo didnt need special attention. Personally I wouldnt go chrome because of chronic fingerprints. But that is sharp! Well, here I go with a matte metalic blue.
Hi! Can you please recommend me a specific model of vinyl wraps for electronics ? (like laptops, phones, audio/video equipment) ? I'm really struggling to find something that meets my needs. The films must meet the following specifications: - Fast & easy removal with no damage, residue, or marks - Easy DIY bubble-free application ( - maybe printable ?! and transparent | matte ) Many thanks!!!
Great videos and thanks for posting all of these! I've particularly enjoyed your recent ones wrapping your mom's Elantra in red chrome! Great job btw! I'm a beginner wrapper and your vids are informative, interesting, and motivational, particularly when I get to a difficult area in wrapping something--I watch your vids and get a boost that it can be done! Keep posting! I do have some requests: - Wrapping rear bumpers, but particularly addressing those deep concave curves on the inside of the bumper where the trunk or hatch meets the bumper and the tail light (which often includes 3 sided corners!) - General thoughts/commentary/examples of when it's better to do inlays rather than try to wrap in one piece - Close up videos of wrapping corners, particularly "sharp" triangular corners like where the fender/headlight/hood meet (I get a good wrap around, but get those stupid wrinkles on the inside)
+Erick Castro thanks a lot for the comment. My go pro recently broke so I have been able to do any pov videos. As soon as I get a new one I plan to show you how to do super clean corners in any film. I do have a bumper video up but I don't know how well you can see me do the rear recess. I'll also explain where you'll want to do inlays. Inlays are mostly done on front bumpers but some rear bumpers need them as well.

Thumbs up for the video! I'm glad I watched this video because now I know that I don't want to have chrome because it is a finger magnet. I'll probably stick with a matte finish. (BTW, I got a Lenovo as well. ;D).
Hi thanks for this usefull video. I'm french, so I'm not sure to understand everything properly. I'll watch it again and again. Just one question, is that special vynil ? what is the reference ? Thank you
Christian I have always post heated before trimming, do you think that matters or in your experience has it not really made a difference? I guess my theory was post heat could result in a very small pull back while the vinyl memory breaks. But I have no proof of weather that is true or not.
Hey Christian, How are you? I hope you are doing well. I was wondering if you would recommend wrapping the bottom of a Macbook Pro. They do get pretty hot sometimes? Thank you for your time and stay safe.
nice job. I'm thinking about doing this to my lenovo too but I wanna know how long the vinyl will last. and whats the name of the liquid you cleaned the laptop with? thanks
Does it improve the performance of the laptop? ;) HA! Well done but man I wouldn't pick the shiny chrome look. It will show the fingerprints way too much and also show scrapes and scratches a lot more as well. It's great if you want to look at yourself while coming or brushing your hair though. Yup! :)
Thanks heaps for the video. I seem to get stuck with the front corners and in between the battery with my last few attempts. Just doesn't tack to the laptop well (Even after a thorough clean). Any further tips?
Great video. You make that look so easy. I'm jealous. Mine has bubbles in it. Nice job. Wear did you get your wrap? Your cute btw and I like your tattoos
What about using surgical gloves or sth when cleaning that surface? Cause when ya hold the laptop even on the edges and foil theses areas, i had the foil to come off first where i touched laptop. Without any grease on ur hand or gloves it should work better
Hey Christian, got a question hope can answer. Have some Vvivid+ Matte Blood Red vinyl to do a clients laptop. They asked me if needed to apply heat for it to stick & look nice. So, do you, can you just lay it down like a normal vinyl stuff you get to do cupboards with like a a "big box store", if know what mean? Hope can help. Thanks, A
CK Wraps Thanks for the reply & forgot to tell you that question for wrapping pain rest and around keyboard/touch pad...as well as outer shell (to of laptop). I've used other wraps in last then started only using dbrand past few years, but Breen having issues, so recently reached out to Vvivid to give them a try. I'm assuming no matter what part I'm wrapping(or item) technique/application is the same correct(measure, layout, post heat, etc...trim, heat, etc.......done)? Again THANKS for the help, & as always hope you well. Cheers, A
No problem and thank you. A project like a bike will depends on when someone brings one in since I don't own one. But I promise I'll do some videos for it when one comes in
Samir, as a fellow beginner, so far I've used TeckWrap, 3M, Avery Dennison, Arlon, no-name eBay, and now Vvivid. TeckWrap I found hard to work with...very thick and doesn't cold stretch very easily. 3M and Avery I found very similar; 3M I found their adhesive to be more tacky than Avery, but they both work about the same (i.e. very easy to work with). Arlon is very nice; their adhesive is not tacky at all but I found their vinyl to be very very thin; I've often "cut" through Arlon with my squeegee tucking into tight recesses (like mirrors). Cheapie eBay...well, it's cheap. The adhesive is very tacky making it difficult to reposition, it also leaves residue sometimes, but the film is thin so it cold stretches easily. Vvivid (I'm using regular XPO, not chrome) I'm finding is in between 3M/Avery/Arlon...thicker than 3M/Avery/Arlon (so a bit more difficult to cold stretch), but not as tacky as 3M/Avery (easier to reposition), and much easier to work with than cheaper brands. Plus the price is nicer than 3M/Avery/Arlon! (sorry to hijack the threds...wanted to provide feedback from one beginner to another!)
+SkipBack I only use Vvivid chrome for any chrome product but I do every every film when it comes to more basic color changes. We just happen to specialize in chrome installs over any other type of installation
Pro tip, buy decent blades. Don’t think just because you get a million blades that they’re all the same. The tips WILL break very easily if you get the cheapest blades.
This guy is a true artist and a class act for teaching anyone who wants to learn how to do it.
Thanks for taking the time to do this and upload it. It was a great demonstration and turned out as well as I had hoped. Gonna try this on my old laptop and see how it comes out, too. Lenovo is a great old laptop to have as I understand they were built like tanks!

LOL.
Instablaster.
I like his tutorial better than any other ones I've seen so far. Great job!

Your Christmas presents probably look dope.

wish I would have watched this video before I did my laptop. I totally screwed it up. Now I know how to do it the right way.
Thanks for the vid!

hey Christian I just wanted you to know I'm a big fan of yours love your work man
Have to agree with most here TY for the video's! The depth with witch you explain and the detail you show makes them absolutely awesome brother TY!
Just wrapped my Macbook and had lots of trouble cutting around the edges. Good to see how you do this for sure!
Found this while searching, how to wrap your laptop and found this and I got the same Laptop 💻

I was gonna wrap my lenovo in black matte. thanks for your vid
Me too.. oh.. 11 months apart.. but yeah same
Came out great! Nice job!
Christian I have always post heated before trimming, do you think that matters or in your experience has it not really made a difference?
I guess my theory was post heat could result in a very small pull back while the vinyl memory breaks. But I have no proof of weather that is true or not.
Yes, I always post heat edges when doing vehicle wraps before I cut and then post heat after the cut as well.
Can you make a video on how to wrap inside around the screen and keyboard method?
Thanks for the tutorial. Just bought a Lenovo Y520 and 3M Brushed Blue 1080 so it's time for a make-over!
I imagine that if the laptop cover has dents, the wrap will not cover them but accentuate them as you squeegee it. Correct?
Nice wraping.... but i suggest to unassemble the laptop chassis and doing it part by part
Hey Christian, How are you? I hope you are doing well. I was wondering if you would recommend wrapping the bottom of a Macbook Pro. They do get pretty hot sometimes? Thank you for your time and stay safe.
lol, i can feel the ASMR
Why not take the battery off and wrap it?
Will the corners be fine like that, not tucked at all. Just pulled tightly downwards to conform around the corner?
Can a hair dryer on high be used instead of a heat gun???
nice job. I'm thinking about doing this to my lenovo too but I wanna know how long the vinyl will last. and whats the name of the liquid you cleaned the laptop with? thanks
Liquid is mentioned in the vid.
Very satisfying , informative and interesting video , thanks
How about wrapping a computer case? a lot of PC modders might like this.
Justin R it's much easier to paint for they also paint is much stronger
Powder coat
If I remove the vinyl, the glue will come out completely? I don’t want to lose my warranty if the laptop gets damage later.
This is so relaxing... Also very sad because I know I would NEVER be able to do what he showed :D
I can do it for u my love 😶
Maybe someone asked already. What’s the WATCH BRAND, you’re wearing? Looks sleek and minimal. Thanks
Looks like a Movado...
would it be ok to use a hair dryer instead of a heatgun?
are you available in India, i need my laptops to be covered just like that.
Does it improve the performance of the laptop? ;) HA! Well done but man I wouldn't pick the shiny chrome look. Really Really nice work....Bro Big fan of your work
Your tattoos are awesome
Great video. You make that look so easy. I'm jealous. Mine has bubbles in it. Nice job. Wear did you get your wrap? Your cute btw and I like your tattoos
Excellent work, it's very amazing.
This is a grate tutorial but I need to get a better shot of what ur doing and it will be better but thanks it really helps
Can audio / video home theater components/equipment be vinyl wrapped or at least the face plates?
scuse me ! the bluc machine is a type of hairdryer , can i use a hairdryer?
What about using surgical gloves or sth when cleaning that surface? Cause when ya hold the laptop even on the edges and foil theses areas, i had the foil to come off first where i touched laptop. Without any grease on ur hand or gloves it should work better
Really awesome great work inspired me to learn myself been practicing 😅
1 want to know if the screen would be damaged because of the heat gun
The watch looks cool on you bro
For your blade, wouldn't a scalpel work just as well, if not better? A #25 blade or 1 #15c
#11 blade
I was wondering if vinyl wrap would work well on wrapping my sony vx2000 video camera or my dslr, full wrap. Any experience or advice on this?
I want to ask whether the brand you use chrome material
Q: Is it ok to use hair dryer instead of heat gun?
Thanks a lot for sharing! I've been dying to skin my laptop with hologram vynyl!!
Omg good idea
Nice work!

Use heat to conform it around the corners

What kind of wrap do you think beginners should start with. And what vinyl brand do you recommend. Thanks :)
Avery Dennison is a great film for beginners. It works extremely well
Thanks that was a fast answer. I love your channel and I like how you take care of your viewers. Btw don't forget about the motorcycle wrap XD
No problem and thank you. A project like a bike will depends on when someone brings one in since I don't own one. But I promise I'll do some videos for it when one comes in

Try vinyl wrapping a video game controller or a computer mouse in chrome to match the laptop :)
I did see how you wrapped those compound corners, they slop and tapper.
Saw your camera in the reflection, what brand and model is that if you don't mind?
it's a phone lol
great job!
may I know why use Vvivid product but not other brands like 3M or Avery?
