Glad to see Brian the camera man still around 🤙🏽😉
I love when a plan comes together! --Hannibal Smith, from the A-Team
EricTheCarGuy, Your videos always make me happy, so I subscribed!
Wow, I don't think I've had you say "cameraman Brian" in ages! Nice to hear he's still around. Sad to see the car go though.
Emblems are ridiculously expensive. The Blue Oval is one of the MOST expensive to make per the supply base; especially when you get into those BIG SuperDuty badges. When I was in Paint Automation we used to collect badges as a 'reward' for a job well done. I have so many in a box that will go on a wall when my shop is built. I have all the large volume vehicles (Jeep, RAM, GM, Chevy, Ford, etc), and many of the higher ends as well including Rolls Royce and a couple other high end low volume vehicles. Gotta be at least 40 or 50 total in the box. I remember getting the SuperDuty badge and the guy that got it for me was "These are CRAZY expensive, hide it, they look for these, and I never gave it to you". When I went to work for The Blue Oval I was really surprised at what went into making that badge, it's crazy. I think 20 years ago the SMALL ones cost over $10 each FORD's cost. The Big Ones were into the $20 range.
To my absolute joy I noticed today that ETCG channel had new videos published after a long break! Watched them on one go.
Welcome back Eric! Hope things are well and you are able to do more of these in the near future!
Nice work Eric!
Camera man Brian is back! 👍
SHE'S ALIVE!!!
The pain the suffering, but the end result bro, very good. Well worth watching this episode. Excellent. Tedious work, but the sense of satisfaction after the fact knowing it's all been done 🪄 too good 👍 top class
When I did the Rust-oration of my 57 Ford tractor, the front emblem also attached with those "speed nuts" for lack of a better term.
I don't trust them, especially for something that gets the amount of bumping and bruising as a tractor. Because of that, I threaded them and used nylock nuts! Worked perfectly!
This series was a joy to watch, if only I still had my 95 Civic Si, I would've done the same TLC you did on your Integra Type R. Fortunately I'm giving that kind of love to my bit more boring vehicules, an Element and a Fit. Thanks for all the great tips, most of my repairs I did after following your videos.
Seems like it would be worth more than 35k. I enjoyed the series, Eric. Thank you
Idk what the older NSX's go for now but not that long ago that would have grabbed you one.
If i had the money, i would buy it.
Good update keep it up the good work 👍👍
Man I've been waiting for this part so I can binge the whole series. I've missed having a decent EricTheCarGuy session!
Thanks for being such an inspiration all those years ago when I first started watching, really like the new editing style too. I hope you're keeping well, cheers from the UK and stay dirty!
Enjoyed the Type R restoration, Eric looks good without a hat!
The alignment specs sheets had arrows pointing to the caster. Camber was the numbers right above those, in the -1.5-ish range both before and after. Which is good.
9:51 Also that plastic fender liner edge needs to tuck in behind the edge of the bumper. My passenger side one used to always pop out and I’d have to tuck it back in every now and then.
Yesssss Eric is back I love you man lol plz keep the videos coming 😂
Glad to see you guys back!
At first I thought you installed the Acura badge up sidedown then realized the bumper facing down 😂. Came a long way with that project very entertaining. Bet it was worth all the blood, sweat, and tears!
Lmao same here! Then he said something about the Honda boys doing it, and figured he put it upside sown on purpose lol. Glad it is right side up, I've never heard of Vcura lol!
"They're probably right." Damn straight.
Thank you Eric and nice to see Brian enjoy watching your wonderful videos again watching from South Africa
The way Eric describes the feel, i wanna travel from Egypt to Ohio just to test drive it
Hopefully it goes to somebody outside of the rustbelt
WOW!!! like always Eric you are the best.!!! for years are was your fan and continuos to be , thank you to show me the humble that have the veyy and real Professionals mechanics!!!
Tremendously entertaining to watch a master tech restore a "classic" (guess I'm considered a classic as well). Missed your content while you were away and incredibly happy you're back at it.
gotcha when the dust settles
Love these cars the integras deserve nothing but love
Great work Eric. Thumbs up👍
Its looking hella good
Your like a doctor
Wowow Eric welcome back!!
Nice job Eric! This was a great series to watch.
Very cool project thanks for sharing
Looks beautiful, great job on this
one of the best type r’s left in the world currently. If not the best. Unless there’s one that barely has any miles on it somewhere.
Awesome work, sounds great
Wonderful feeling you and all involved have with this project. Thanks for sharing your long journey. Bet you will miss this beauty once sold... terrific job overall!!! God Bless!! Hello and thanks to Cameraman Brian for great filming!!
Awesome stuff man!
Not gonna even lie. You look good without the hat bro.
so great to hear you laugh man great work
love this
Brian!!! I would love to own a DC2
Great video Eric! Good luck with the sale of Black Beard! At 5:50 could you use a flare nut crow foot on the torque wrench for that bolt?
Yea, I suppose you could. Wish I would have thought of that.
I'm you 777th like.
I hope you Sell it EC, pains me to watch this series, as I would buy it if I could, course might be a bit tricky to drive in my condition, the pain would be worth it though!
It is however so great to see you back in your element and actually I think you are more happy here than you were with your shop. That Type R, looks fresher than wet paint as they used to say when we were kinda in highschool.
You're looking good, The break did you well!
Hope the weekend is a good one for you EC!
I really wish i could send you down my 91' CRX SI Special Edition. It needs some serious restoration. only 250 made of the trim in Canada, last i heard there was only like 50 ish that are plated. Love all your vids Eric
Nice 👍🏽
Just watched the whole series. Great to see you and Brian back. I've missed your videos. Also it would be awesome if you could somehow equalize the volume of powertools, theyre WAY louder than your voice. Which is realistic i suppose. Would be a nice touch for future videos. Diamond wheel is loud.
Excellent ❤
The sound a N/A VTEC engine makes just makes you want to redline every gear
Awesome build! I love the Honda/Acura platform, it's not the 800 horsepower monster, but they are hella fun to drive.
Eric, SPEED NUTS 4 the front emblem. Very nice. And a lot of work.
I guess everyone can tell by my icon I really enjoyed this series.
Man, it just sucks I had to get rid of my Acura Integra LS😢
G,day Eric what a fine example of an integra there would be many around as good as this one. Great job Eric We have had three Hondas and all of them have been terrific, on your back working on it brings back memories when you first kicked off. I though that was the end of your channel I’m glad it’s not, anyway good to see you kind regards John😅
That laugh @11:55 was itt for me
One of my first chanel of machnic at UA-cam,and I subscribe to it...Good job buddy
I totally would have installed the front emblem upside down while it was off the car! Nice work, good to see another ITR restored to glory.
Never thought I’d see the day. A hatless ETCG 😮 11:44
Cameraman Brian, long time no see
I want more Ericthecarguy videos
Wish you would keep it, such a nice car.. but heres to the new owner enjoying your hard work!
Hand built like a Rolls- Royce , but better!!
Okay that it, I am restoring my Honda lol
I can't tell you how I've missed your videos. Maybe you could do a mini resto on an 07-08 TL Type S next?!?
G’day Eric I haven’t seen you for a long time I learnt so much from you that I rebuilt the front and back of a 4 x 4 you were a great help. I see that your back crawling under cars especially a Honda we have had three of them terrific cars, this is jam packed with interest. I have subscribed mate and look forward to watching the channel look after yourself kind regards John PS were you the first guy to wear gloves?
If I haven't told you lately, YOU'RE AWESOME! YOU ARE AWESOME!
Previously on X-Men
Job well done! #etcggreybeard ;-)
A better way to torque those bushings is to use a big hunk of wood or whatever sturdy and put em under the LBJ and lower the car on them. Your method is much better than not doing it at all though.
I miss my GSR from back in the day 😕
Seeing Eric so grey makes me feel old.
All that work if I had done it I wouldn't wanna sell it
Wow
you should keep it.
Any update on you picking up a shop and getting back into repairs and putting out videos?
Dang man, cant believe you are selling it. Whats next an NSX?!?!!?!
I bought this car and sold it for a pretty penny to WhistlinDiesel. His videos are sure fun, I hope he gets some views with this car.
This has been very entertaining thank you. How much are you selling the Type R for?
Thankfully Americans got introduced to good cars that can handle better than boats heh-heh. Faster, better handling and more fuel efficient, whatttt, no wayyyyy 😲. I am mainly talking against the bland massive boat designs as to be fair, there are some incredibly iconic and beautiful American designs - Not sure what they were like to drive though. The roads in America suited the cars they made I guess (and people), gargantuan and massive. Europe, Japan, UK etc roads are very tight and have bends, what are also known as... Corners 😛 Our cars also have proper stick gearboxes (or had, with most things being semi-automatic now).
Good job on the Civic. I never had a Honda, always liked the look of them though, particularly the Honda Civic Type R (2001-2005 UK type, was a small car, not sure what it would be renamed in America or if you had it).
For the Japanese, I was a 2001 Gen7 Celica chap, bought around 2010 when I was around 26.
Actually, its quite horrifying to think i've not had many cars, just 3, 1997 VW Polo, 2001 Celica 1.8 VVTLI and 2007 BMW E92 335D remapped (which I still have and owned for 11 years now - its starting to need TLC now at 186k miles).
I missed your channel dude, good to see it making a comeback (not that it went away or dwindled, I just mean new content). Hope things and the family are well. Kind regards 🙂
Bit of a fudge showing us the alignment sheet...... You showed "Caster". not "Camber", the caster is the set back in relation from top of knuckle, to bottom, (Like the forks of a bicycle), good job on the resto.
beautiful. which brand of rear sway bar link did you go with? I bought a Dorman Premium ($$$) and it makes clunking noise over bumps.
TRW
GREASE THE AXLE .. riggin lookz famialr wizkid2 looks can kill speed✅✅🦁🦁❤❤🏁🏁🥇🥇🥇🥇
Always hated the camber adjusters on 90s Honda
Eric u missed the opportunity for a walkaround while its running
Hey Eric what happened to the cobra kit car? That's my dream car I wanna see more of it
It was sold last year.
Great resto on DC2R, Where do i find the link of the torque spec for front and rear suspension ? Thanks
No links, but I did put markers in the video.
Ok eric the car guy i have 2005 honda civic changed caliper on front and lines one side has fluid the other dont (pass side) what is the junction box that splits the brake lines out to all 4 wheels
Love you ETCG
Hey Eric, I have a '97 GS & want to do a type r clone. In order to use the factory rear lower subframe brace, would I need a type r rear subframe or it could be done on the GS subframe?
Hey , eric i need some advice , i have a 3.8 Mitsubishi Gt. that was idling in the yard and the timing belt broke should i be worried about significant damage or should i try putting a new belt on it ?
Guys just a question.. Can a honda rd5 cylinder head fits Rd7 engine block?
Hello mister, any part numbers & where to find window seal molding & run channels?
I don't believe they are available anymore. I bought them pre pandemic.
After the test drive the car is no longer for sale 😂
What happen if you torque down when car is jacked up compared to being on floor (compressed) when torquing the bolts down?
The bushings only have so much twist in them. If you torque them with the suspension in droop, the bushings will twist beyond their range and will tear prematurely.
If you have aftermarket ploy bushings or spherical bearings, it doesn't matter. You can just torque them in any position.
The wheels fall off.
You will stress the bushings when you lower the vehicle to ride height.
I forgot to install the Styrofoam impact thingy when I mounted the rear bumper cover on my Z 😢
Did you sell the integra, if so hope is someone will cherish and enjoy the car
Same Vintage Acura/Honda like that are not only rare. But also Nice joy to see.
I remember ETC bought this car for 17-18k. Easily 17k profit
Where did you source the door handle?
Ebay
If your door handle is broken and you fancy taking the assembly apart, you can use a 96-00 Civic handle (just the part that pulls out) on the 94-01 Integra handle housing. The handle portion is the same while the housing is shaped different around the outer edge.
@@ericthecarguy Alas. I hoped someone was making new replacements :\
Where can I order that rear trunk/hatch seal?
And those rubber door seals?
I got the rubber door seal from Acura. I think it was the last one. Helix Auto Works is linked in the description.
thanks
Mita Motorsports also has reproduction DC chassis hatch seals.
What will this car sell for now ?
Video link in the description.
😢😭😭😭😭
