  • Today I freeze dry Ground Sirloin Meatloaf. I then reconstitute and do a taste test. Turned out great!

Try cooking them in muffin pans, that wat you have single servings and you don't have to cut them up.

I really liked this one, The meatloaf came out perfect. I don't think you would know it had been freeze dried!

I'm going to try this. Just a little tip on tomato paste, I open both ends, remove one end and push the tomato paste through with the other. Works great and gets it all out of the can.

John it looks delicious. I have a small confession though, I've made my own recipe of meatloaf and I can eat this meatloaf in the freeze dried state. Its great rehydrated but if the need arises you Could eat it as is.

I would probably make the meatloaf with out the glaze and freeze dry the glaze to rehydrate with the meatloaf

Have you ever thought of using a spray bottle with water in it to maximize coverage while minimizing the amount of water? I'm going to try it on things like large pieces

Did the meatloaf need any other seasoning other than the Worcestershire sauce?

The bread crumbs had italian seasoning and of course the topping but other then what is shown in the video I added nothing. Ground Sirloin is a fantastic tasting beef much better than hamburger.

Yet another good dish to freeze dry, especially when on sale. Have you considered testing freeze drying the beef then rehydrating and making meat loaf? I'm wondering if freeze dried beef work well like that?

I have freeze dried raw beef, I think it is close to the first video I did. It came out well and rehydrated well.
