Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on UA-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on UA-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on UA-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

"That's The Way of The World," by Earth Wind & Fire. It is FIRE!
My all time favorite!
So, so good!
Yes!
Personally I classify them as simply Earth Wind and Fire an absolutely unique band of their own. No need for trying to figure out a genre for them, just an incredible band.
Earth Wind & Fire is one of my favorite bands of all time. So much beautiful and awesome music to explore.
It's kind of funny how young people are so focused on the genres. In the 70s, the only genres that really mattered were the ones that defined radio station programming, such as Soul/R&B, Top 40 Pop, Rock, Disco, Country, Adult Contemporary, Oldies (50s and 60s), and Spanish. That's about as granular as most people got.
This group is so FIRE !!!!!!!!!!!!
Love this funky jazzy group. They covered many genres of music. You've done a few of their songs already. They had a lot of hits in the 70's-80's such as "Got To Get You Into My Life", "September", "Boogie Wonderland", "Let's Groove", "Reasons", "Sing A Song", "After The Love Is Gone" etc.
Don't forget 'Fantasy'.
Labels are unimportant when the music is this good. Just enjoy something that will probably never come around again in our lifetime.
This is the first time hearing of EWF, this is one of the most successful band in American Music, rock and roll hall of fame band, their Catalog is huge, and their Music is epic, just saw them last year in Vegas and they are still rocking, go down this rabbit hole. Maurice White and Verdine White are brothers…….
Earth, Wind, and Fire were a major part of the the soundtrack of my childhood.
Back in the day, this song was played at every dance.
A couple of fantastic songs on this album are the title song, Gratitude (super funky), as well as a slow jam Can’t Hide Love.
WOW Shawn this is just what I needed to bring me up out of a rut, as always thanks for all your hard work entertaining all of us.
Without a doubt the funkiest band of the 70s. Excellent musicians.
Back again with another story, I worked for North American Van Lines in the late 70’s when I was about 19 yrs old. And on a job we had was moving the Earth, Wind and Fire music studio. Took two days and down the steps below in there sound room was War band cutting music. So I met Maurice, the lead singer from EWF.shook hands and offered me a Heniken. Great memories. Also saw them play in 74 at California Jam l . 2nd band out of 10 for $10.00. Whereas Emerson, Lake and Palmer closed the concert with. Lack Sabbath and Deep Purple, Eagles as some of the acts
Fun story! And that California Jam sounds amazing
I’m 65 now. WOW time flies………
So much top-notch music came out of Caribou Ranch. I remember being incredibly saddened when it burned down.
I will seeing them in August along with Chicago.
Wait for the encore at the end!
Big rabbit hole of hits! "September", "After The Love is Gone", "Reasons", "Boogie Wonderland", "Let's Groove". I would recommend "Boogie Wonderland" next.
Funk Jazz Fusion Soulful Dancce Music - Fire! Great songs on every album.
'Can't Hide Love' is another good one by them.
♥♥♥ Another great one by them is "September."
September is in my Top Ten of all time.
three top funk bands of the 70s-EWF, Kool & the Gang and the Ohio Players with the Commodores as fourth runner up since they went ballad crazy in 1978. Other EWF tunes-September, That's The Way Of The world, Gettaway, after The Love Has gone, saturday Nite, Sing A Song, Boogie Wonderland and Got To Get You Into My Life.
Come now, you can't talk about funk without including the band, Parliament Funkadelic. ❤
Fantastic, Shawn. For something else that's really funky and edgy and was also a hit, Serpentine Fire.
I like what you were saying about it's great when sometimes the bass guitar and drums can stand out and that we do tend to focus more on the front and center stuff. Which is the whole idea of it. But as a seasoned multi-instrumentalist myself, whenever I'm listening to music, and believe me it makes it so enjoyable, I'm pretty much identifying every part and trying to dig as much nuance as I can out of the mix for it. And then I listen to the whole thing together, and then I'll stay with one instrument for a while, but you're still hearing everything else along with it, like a big jigsaw puzzle.
It's something that I really love about music, and it comes up in composition, arrangement, execution, tracking, mixing, etcetera. Whether it's a lot or a little, every part has to absolutely be there or else it shouldn't be there.
Also, one of my favorite Funk bass lines of all time and I have tons of them, believe me, is the early seventies hit by Stevie Wonder, Boogie On Reggae Woman. I bet that would make a fantastic reaction for you. Make sure to find the slightly longer version, because there are some versions floating around where they fade out the outro too soon and you miss out on more of his exceptional harp playing.
these guys are a blast to watch live
This is the album! Title track That’s The Way Of The World next 🔥
Man, you have been missing out on another BIG time group from the 70's who are still performing today! They had bunches of hits!
This was on the radio all of the time. BIG hit.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥
70’s 70’s 70’s 70’s
Best decade for Music in all genres !!! My opinion ❤️
You have to listen to more of Earth Wind & Fire. There music is always great.
Loved this song at 13 yrs old, but now when I hear it I see Will Ferrell and Cheri O'Teri doing their cheerleading skits on SNL! Shawn, you should look up that skit, it's hilarious.🙂
Thanks for your reactions, you do so many and still get into the meat of the music.
Was super fun rexing to this song at the rink- 70s were a blast!
It's not only the music but the lyrics!
Thanks, Shawn - you should react to some of their LIVE performances... super-funky and cool -- I especially love Verdine White on the bass.. .-brother of singer Maurice White.. .he is a monster on the stage... appreciate your listen! (p.s. you probably know them.. see what Dagmar says below about some of their other songs.. bet you will recognize some...)
For anybody who doesn't know, this is Funk!
Love the way the horns come in strong. Greatest band. Such a groove. You can't talk 70's music without talking about EWF.
❤ it! Happy Flashback 😊
Music of my youth. Dancing in the dorms at all hours of the day and night. Earth Wind And Fire we’re a staple.
Thing is, we were all jamming to all genres if it was a good tune. And 98% of tunes back then were better than good!
Oh, oh. So glad you are finding EW&F. More, please. So many hits and funky videos. They got some jazzy stuff, too. I know you will like them. Such great musicians.
Now for some perspective. I know you like Genesis (and I think Phil Collins). Well, ol' funky Phil 'borrowed' the EW&F brass section for his solo work and then teamed up with EW&F's Philip Bailey for a duet called 'Easy Lover' (a must video). Phil produced Philip's solo album 'China Wall'. Great musical birds flock together.
Check out "got to get you into my life" Beatles cover
For the rest of my life, I will never not picture Elaine on Seinfeld at the company party getting down with this song. If you don't know what I'm talking about you got to look it up
Bass is the bacon of music. Check out I’ll Take You There by The Staple singers and Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
As far as I know~ Maurice & Verdine were brothers. Maurice has since passed away*
I bought this single back in the day. That meant I really, really liked it.
Reminds me of my disco days. This is a great great dance song! 🎶🎶🎶👍
Back when, KREMfm in Spokane played Shining Star and Way of the World as a medley. I missed it when Shining Star just stopped.
Love them!!!
I saw Earth, Wind & Fire open for Uriah Heep, in Des Moines, in fall of 1973.
They were great. I don't think they had this song yet, not sure.
EW&F was known for uplifting and positive tracks you could move to. Please react to "That's the Way of the World" and "Let's Groove". Also, try the funky, upbeat "Yes We Can Can" by The Pointer Sisters. I dare you not to move to that one!
If you like the funky bass you need to check out Parliament. "Give up the funk", "Flashlight", or "Aquaboogie" would be great starters.
Teenagers; Skating rink; Friday night; this song! 🛼🎶
YAY!!
Not a bad song by these guys.
You should really listen to Serpentine Fire by EW&F.
Isley brothers "Summer Breeze"
Try Let's Groove Tonight or September.
This was sampled by Beyonce in the Gold member movie .
LOVE EWF!!!!!!! ❤
Listen to Serpentine Fire and Fantasy by EW&F next.
Phil Bailey and Phil Collins did some work together check it out
Too many awesome songs to name - Try songs off the albums All N All, I AM , Gratitude, and SPIRIT.... BTW, this is the Greatest ( Group) Of All Time....
