    This band had SUCH a huge impact on music, it's impossible to gauge. You've done this, "Let's Groove", and "Fantasy," but (unless you did and it got blocked), you haven't done "September", arguably their biggest hit. "Shining Star" is a great love song. You should also do, "Mighty Mighty", "That's the Way of the World", "Getaway", or "Saturday Nite". You really, truly can't go wrong with EW&F! P.S. Amber... "Celebration" was by Kool and the Gang.

    The Hutchinson Sisters from Chicago - The Emotions are doing backup vocals here. They should be included in a girl group Female Friday with their song Best of My Love ( Labelle - Lady Marmalade, The Honey Cone - Want Ads) would be make a great Female Friday trio of chart toppers (Billboard Hot 100) from the 70s.

My grandmom knew Maurice and Verdeen's mom, Sam Cooke was a member of our church, Tito Jackson was a student of one of my auntie in Gary and Mr T had a huge crush on my aunt in high school. I never personally met any of these celebrities my relatives knew but I always was fascinated hearing about these stories growing up in south Chicago

      @@mikebaker7888 EWF always has insanely well choreographed moves on the stage. They went all out in giving the audience a show.
      This all, for people who’ve seen Easy Lover, (Phil Collins & Philip Bailey), kind of explains the humour part of that video when Phil Collins brought out the costumes, and had Philip Bailey cracking up watching Phil Collins make an attempt to dance. (While Easy Lover is a good song, the video of them shooting a video was over the top.

    The ladies are The Emotions, a group in their own right before and after EW&F. You may have heard "Best of My Love" or "Don't Ask My Neighbors." At one time EW&F also included jazz keyboard master Ramsey Lewis, who gave the group's leader Maurice White his start in performing. Check out their combo smash "Sun Goddess." 😎

    You guys know good music when it captures your very souls. I danced in loads of disco clubs back in the day, and never remember anyone sitting down when EWF was playing. They were either out on the floor, or groovin' in place. Rob and Amber, I get a huge kick out of how you identify this era as 'your time'...wish you could have been back there with us the first time! All I can say is that it was truly awesome.

    You both make me appreciate being a teenager (and in my early 20s) during the 1970s. I was 21 years old when Boogie Wonderland was released in 1979. I'm grateful that I grew up in a remarkable decade for music. Life felt easier and lighter in the '70s.🌞

    Love me some Earth Wind and Fire!! So many great songs. One of them is a remake of the Beatles' "Got to Get You Into My Life." Rarely does anyone improve a Beatles rendition (ex: Joe Cocker and "With a Little Help from my Friends"), but EW&F does exactly that in my opinion. Also, please try some Al Jarreau! Your positive vibe will mesh really well with "Mornin'" or "We're in this Love Together."

  • @TheBlack-my5yf
    @TheBlack-my5yf 2 роки тому +38

    They did this song with the Emotions. Some great Emotions songs are "Flowers," "No Plans for Tomorrow," "Best of My Love" and "I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love." An older song by them is "Show Me How." You guys dig horns, so check out Earth, Wind & Fire's "Jupiter," "In the Stone" and for a nice sax solo, the live version of "Reasons." BTW, "Celebration" is by Kool & the Gang. They have some great horns too in the earlier songs, like "Chocolate Buttermilk," "Hollywood Swinging," and "Who's Gonna Take the Weight."

    Love you two! Boogie Wonderland was such a groove! I was still a teenager when it came out. Earth Wind and Fire , with the Emotions was an excellent team up of two great groups. I have to say yes, this era, the 70’s was an amazing time to be alive! If I had a time machine, I’d definitely go back.

    I remember dancing to this in a club in Portland, Oregon in my early 20s - a guy I never met before asked me to dance and proceeded to take me through some amazing dance steps. It was a clear the floor moment, and after the song, a couple of people asked us how long we had been dancing together. They didn’t believe that it was less than an hour. It was truly about the fun, and the music, and the amazing times… ♥️
