Description: Gym anxiety and heart palpitations go hand in hand. But is it possible to change your view of what a heart palpitation during exercise is? Most definitely. Overcoming gym anxiety and heart palpitations takes a willingness to step outside your comfort zone, and face your fears head on.
Will your gym anxiety and heart palpitations disappear in time? Yes. But you must understand the patterns that continue to run your subconscious programming. It's that kind of programming that makes your body react the way it does. What you feel in the body, in this case heart palpitations due to gym anxiety, first begins by what you think of in your mind.
Please share this video with other anxiety sufferers, as I feel it will truly help other people see that there really is a way out.

@@computerfastrepair brother I wish you all the health and happiness in the world. But when Denis says palps can go for ever, I get behind ectopic heartbeats, Pvcs, there classed as palps and once people get them there is no getting rid of them. Thats why I also stopped working out, because I am afraid that it will make my palpitations worse. What happened after you started working out again?

Thank you so much! This is the only 5 minute video I was looking for! Even just watching a guy casually saying that they have experienced all this things and palpitations at gym and explaining things almost made me cry. I REALLY fear I might die.I have PTSD from childhood trauma from parent abuse...and I get CRAZY palpitations BACK TO BACK. This happens rarely but the single ones happen like every day for years. No matter the multiple exams I did and doctors explaining me I still think I might suddenly die from this and that my hearts get tired from all this palpitations. I also feel them intense ans somoetimes they cut my breath for a second. It is a torture, But I happen to like gym and bodybuilding so I have to challenge myself almost daily. Some times like today I do the lightest exersice and STILL feel palpitations. Other days I might even do heavy leg press bulgarian spplit squats ans not feel them and also kinda like having forgotten about them. Of course there are times I feel them too on these heavy days. And after the gym, I try to relax and when i am chill suddenly an intense or more palpitations happen. It is so scary I just cant believe i am not in danger every day. Someitmes I also feel shortness of breath, dizziness, tinitus.

I developed SVT while lap swimming with my team. Nothing could get it to stop, so paramedics had to be called to give me adenosine, and then the ER. Ever since, it’s been so difficult for me to want to exercise. I had my ablation to make sure no more SVT occurs, but the anxiety is still there, and feeling my heart rate increase makes me worry when I try to exercise…. I’ve only started trying the gym after 3 months away from any cardio exercise, and it’s nerve racking how light I feel I have to go when I used to me a gym rat and a swimmer. I’m still struggling in these 3 months. This video is encouraging. Thank you.

This is great advice Dennis thank you I have been searching for this video. This has been one of my sticking points while I am physically active, for me to take the bait from anxiety is to suffer heart palpitations while exercising such as climbing a hill or too exertive while tennis to spark the panic feelings and sensations. With the new advice its an area I am going to pay particular attention to over the coming weeks so I can once again enjoy exercise without fearing it.

    thanks for the video Dennis,
a few days ago was my first time I had a panic attack while doing cardio on the tread mill.
I have been doing the same low-intensity workout with fit radio in my ears and following the work outs. have been doing that workout for weeks and felt great as I could finish the 30-minute challenge every time I did it. however, make sure before workouts you're well rested and not stressed. I was so stressed at work that day and it was a bad day to hit the gym, I started well and when I reached the last 3 minutes I felt like I was going out of breath and very soon I felt I was losing control and went into the panic mode, I stop instantly and just couldn't get my breath back, so I walked up and down the gym and tried to take deep breaths but it was hard to control as I thought I was going to go out of breath.I got back home and felt really afraid and wasn't sure if I should go back to the gym. but I realised I had to overcome the fear. This video has definitely helped me, so I took a few days off from the gym but went right back in and firstly made my mind clear of what happened the last time. I took it slow and now am back to where I am, it's all in the mind and until we realise what is actually going on it will help us deal with it. good luck everyone..don't give up , just alter your work outs but don't stop.

This is something I'm dealing with at this very moment. It's all about making that connection, but sometimes the sensations mimic a panic attack too closely and sends me into that stupid cycle of fear. I'll work on this, thank you! Brian Campbell Yes, it feels like every sensation and my body floods to my rib cage, heart races and the whole feeling like "oh sh**" here we go again swarms me. Twice in my life I've called 911 and both times I'm almost back to normal by the time they get there. I've read up on people who've experienced this and they all say the same thing, as crappy and as hard it is to imagine pushing through, they all do and that's the only way to get better. I'm definitely a work in progress, but gotta push forward my friend.

Isaac Rios definitely not a lone. I can’t lift anymore. Even curling 10lbs weights, leaves me breathless and BPM at 150-160. It takes a long time to come back down because it freaks me out.
I was on treadmill for a week, I did 50 minutes at 3.0 with an incline between 1.0-2.0 with my BPM maxing at 145-150. I then took a few days off, went back and not even 20 minutes in, I was at 160BPM. It scared me so much, I got off the machine. I haven’t been back. This was last week.
I just had a stress test done at cardiologist and they noticed how much heart rate didn’t drop down fast enough. They asked me to “bare down” like I’m constipated. So I did and apparently it showed that I was suffering from SVT, which is basically a short circuit in my hearts electrical system. Thing is, I think anxiety can cause an SVT.
      So yeah it’s tough.

I was riding a bike for the first time this year, happy as can be and then I started to feel the heart palpitations and labored breathing, then full panic attack set in. I settled down eventually to go back home and right before getting home I got another one. Yes! This is awesome. Palpitations sent me to the ER in 2012. It was crazy. Think it was palpitations/panic attack and it just woke me up out of the blue at 5 in the morning. Recently I got palpitations again and it turned into some anxiety throughout the day. I started thinking what if hits me during the day, but that was due to the anxiety. I don't think I've ever gotten palpitations during the day, just skipped heart beats. But recently I've been trying to play basketball and when I get to a certain point, probably 140 bpm, I get some anxiety and will get those skipped heart beat sensations which lead me to think I might get palpitations. It sucks so bad. Cuz I stop right away and walk it off and usually head home.

Most of heart pounding are when do deadlift, squats, or just standing biceps curls. I hate it, but I know that is my anxiety and tired nervous system

I get PVCs it’s like that sensation of a double beat a pause then it goes back to normal and it does it like 10 times in a row with 1-3 normal beats in between. Doctors still say it’s nothing to worry about, how crazy. I can feel it in my chest. Even if I try to ignore it the early contractions of the ventricles are too powerful.

Heart palpitations are a side effect of anxiety. Most all of us anxiety sufferers have them. I got used to them and just kept doing what I was already doing. My big thing is tension headaches. I hate them. But as I get better at managing anxiety, I noticed that my tension headaches have gotten better too.

There is a connection between Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) and anxiety. I get palpitations when I exercise, when I’m overtired, and sometimes when I sleep on my left side. These are common symptoms of MVP. It’s scary, and is the reason I stopped running.
I know exercise will probably help the anxiety and MVP, but I’m terrified.

I have no problem while exercising. My issue is I feel crappy and anxious a few minutes after exercising, and it can go on for the rest of the day. I have brought this to the attention of neurologists, cardiologists and endocrinologists and they couldn't give me an answer. I doubt that I am overexercising. I used to love exercising before I had anxiety -- I was in the gym every other day, and everyday I spent at least 2 hours walking outside.

Anxiety cause palpitations also that’s causes skip beats etc and once you get control over the anxiety the palpitations will definitely stop .It have stopped for many that have healed. Now like you said if it’s a medical condition of the heart then maybe not.Anxiety causes the nervous system to act up and this is what causes the palpitations
