  • In this Hagerty Buyer's Guide Ken Lingenfelter of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering points out some things to look for while considering purchasing a C2 Corvette. Some key things to check are the gaps between the doors, hood, and trunk, and the paint. Finding a nice hard top is also rare along with the factory side pipes. As always, buyers beware. Gee Ken,
Your so nit picky for the right stuff on Corvette! You'd think you'd know enough to call it a Midyear or Sting Ray. not a SEEEEEEEEEEEE TOOOOOOOOO! kills your creditability! Your welcome!

Any car guy knows that when someone refers to a C2 Corvette, they're talking about 1963-67 Vettes.
BTW, it's you're not your, and credibility not creditability.
      You're welcome.

It's actually very, very common for Corvette guys to refer to their cars by "C" generation. The C3s were stingray's, which looks different when typed or written but they sound the same when spoken, and the term, "midyear" is also common, but "C2" is most certainly not the wrong thing to call these cars.
