Hello Brian, great video there! I have a similar problem on my 2009 Scion Xb. I took it in to a body shop to have new fog lights installed. When I got it back, the AC fan wasn't working at all. It did when I took it to the shop. The AC compressor will engage and run when you push the AC button, but nothing comes out of the vents, even on HIGH. My first thought is to check the fuse, but I don't know which fuse box to check (under dash or in engine compartment). I also don't know which fuse to check. The Owner's Manual does not tell you which fuse operates the fan motor.
Do you have any thoughts on this problem??

Pete Minter hello Peter. Sorry your having car trouble with your AC. The fuse box you need to check is in the dash. I would check all the fuses with a test light. Make sure the key is on and test both side of the fuse. If only one side has power the fuse is blown. If you run across a fuse with no power on both side that fuse is only power up by a switch such as the lights and is normal.

My friend has a 2013 Scion Xb and of the 4 vents in the front cabin on the 2 outer ones closest to the doors blow air out. Would this be related to the blower going out or is there a clog somewhere? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any air blowing out of the vents, it’s not gonna be the blower motor or the resistor. It’s going to be a blend air door problem.

My AC sometimes slows down on its own, for example when on 4, it blows like it's on 2 for a while but then goes back to blowing like it should. Does that sound like it would be the resistor or the motor?

Carlos V Carrasco Jr that would be the resistor.

I am loosing my blower fan completely, although intermittently right now.. started two days ago with a little clicking sound, like a bearing was going bad. Would this also be the resistor?

Tamara Ritter hard to say if the bearing is going bad it will make it do that. I recommend you pull the motor out and see if the bearing is bad by spending it with your hand. If the bearing is bad you'll know right away. You can also put 12 V by using jumper wires to the fan and see if it spins.

Hi, what should I do if the AC blower isn't working on any of the settings and the AC light doesn't turn on? The ECU-IG No.2 Fuse was replaced because it was burnt, but the issue persists. Any suggestions?

Check to see if it burned the fuse out again after installing it. Sounds like something is directly shorted. And usually a blower motor resistor or the blower motor itself will cost something like that.

Thanks for the quick reply. I took the fuse out again and it looks good. I don't see any signs of burning on the new fuse. So it's not likely to be any of the uses in the engine bay area? @@HowtoAutomotive

I wish it was this easy. I have a 2005 scion and it isn't in the same location. I have spent over an hour trying to find it and will have to try again tomorrow as it's already getting dark.

Its always located near the blower motor. Might be located in your engine bay

I really thought this video was gonna solve my problem. Sadly, it didn't. My ac still only wants to work intermittently, and I think now it's going to be a faulty switch itself.
