- Elvin Bishop's classic performed by Starship at Rockfest 96, featuring:

•Jeff Tamelier, Guitar

•Darrell The Enforcer Verdusco, Drums
•Phil Bennett, Keyboards
One of the most underrated male voices of all time. Soulful with amazing range!
Totally agree.
One of the most idiotic comments of all time considering that in the 1980s Mickey Thomas of Jefferson Starship/Starship was hailed by critics as one of the best male vocalists in rock history. I think your generation has a fetish for the word "underrated," as you toss it carelessly around on UA-cam; but one thing is for damned sure: you are so lazy as not to check the more basic facts on questions such as these, as quickly as you are to put your foot in your mouth to titillate your tonsils.
@@spirituallotus2628 If you agree, you are guilty of the same idiocy. Check the facts first before you agree that such a highly critically acclaimed vocalist is "underrated."
@@spirituallotus2628 I totally agree with you
Spiritual Lotus.

43 years later, and Mickey sounds the same!! True FuckingTalent!!! 🎤🎤👊
The gift won't be denied when you've got it.
His voice is truly epic in skill and delivery
If you want to know how good music was in the 70's...this song only made it to #3 in 1976. I didn't know I had it so good.
Jefferson Starship hit the jackpot getting Mickey.
And now still going at 70 plus and still sounds as good as the original
What an incredible talent... his Voice is as good as when he was a young man. incredible pipes.
He's still incredible. One of the great songs of '76 if I remember correctly, and Mickey still kills it.
Just heard him a few months ago. His voice has lost nothing. Amazing.
And how special to have Jeff Lynne on guitar for this show!!!👌👌👌😜🤣🤣🤣
No matter where he sings this song, it's always fabulous! ❤
amazing Mickey Thomas...One of the best Rock N Roll voice that the world has heard.
I agree .
I so agree
Mickey is one of the top vocalist ever. I saw him whenever, wherever I could in the early 90's. He played in Florida on the beach July 4th and he was just incredible.
His voice is great and strong after all these Years.
Mickey Thomas and Steve Perry in the class by themselves that no one else will ever touch.
One of the best live singers ever
Well, I've never seen a dead singer, so I'm guessing he doesn't have much competition in that area.
@@glickyglue hilarious
Top 5 RnR male voices ever. And if you are filling Elvin's shoes on guitar, THAT boys and girls is how to play that solo. Freakin' awesome job by Jeff Tamelier.
To date, since Elvin's hit went to #3 on the chart in '76, I have not heard anyone match or even come close to Bishop's blues guitar solo in his original hit release. Maybe Eric Clapton, or Blues greats BB or Freddie King can do him justice,... and there are scores of great guitarists that may try, but I think Elvin still wears this crown, IMHO.
Another "boys and girls" comment. U da man 😃
Thomas is so damned lucky! What an amazing voice. He is not even breaking a sweat singing, it's so effortless for him!!! Love it!
Rt on
Mickey Thomas: incredible rock singer... one of the greatest ever, actually. Vastly underrated.
Vastly underated ??? Your joking right .. or your just plain stupid ..
"AGREE"}♡¡

I saw him in 1975, and never forgot him. Fooled around was one of my favorite songs at the time, and still is. I'm a southern man.
So cool. Have always liked this song. Not a thing lost doing it live.
When you’ve got it ,there’s no mistaking Mickey’s right on Top of those peaks!🎼
Finally, a singer who STILL has his voice!!!!!!!!!!!!! and LOOKS!
Dawn Klaphake He's singing this falsetto. Not like he used to but yeah he still sounds good though!
Dawn Klaphake That darling baby face he's always had served him well. 😀 Truly a beautiful voice, still today!
There's also Billy Idol too. Still has his looks and voice even in his 60s.
This is more than 20 years ago
wanda James I'm certainly aware it's 20 plus yrs ago. However, you can also look up more recent concerts, shows or whatever and hear that his voice is pretty much the same. He's looking a little old now but I think he's pushing 70. 😁🙄
Sure brings back memories!

His 1776 version on TV featuring Lani Slain as his harmony singer was the greatest version of this "true story" song for a lot of us old farts from the 70's!!!!
