I got goosebumps when Mickey started to sing! What a voice that guy has! Wow!
Same but with tears. 🙌🏼
Damn, man. Mickey walks in cold off the street and just BELTS! I admit to not loving Starship but Mickey has pipes that could fund a Catholic Choir.
Damn he can sing. Its like studio quality voice straight out of his mouth...wow
Mickey Thomas will be 70 years old in a few weeks. He still has it.
That's not a voice, it's a complete sound system... Holy f**k that gives me goosebumps!!
What a voice! No hesitation. Just demonstration. Noice.
That’s a soulful singer there.
One of Rocks greatest ever voices with range and strength seldom if ever matched. This was amazing!
Love it, didn't rehearse, just jump right onto the mic. That's talent. "Should we go on" Hell yes...undoubtedly the best thing to come out of that studio that day, those vocals are incredible.
He makes singing this look so easy. What an amazing voice.
Still! That's amazing, he always had perfect pitch and still does.
One of rocks greatest vocalists.
One of the best voices in rock, hands down. Effortless!!!
I remember hearing this when it aired ....... It was like 7:30 a.m. and he's pegging the meters lol.... What a phenomenal voice
His voice is Perfection in motion!! God he sounds terrific!!
1976!!
As a guitar player that sings, if someone said I could sing like anyone who has EVER sung....EVER... I'd pick Mickey Thomas over EVERYBODY! His is truly God given. You can learn how to sing to some degree but you can't "learn" that. It's just magical...
One of my favorite songs of all time
Mickey Thomas is one of the greatest singers out there. I've been on a huge Starship kick lately!
Saw him a decade ago in Orange County California at the Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. Starship opened and then David Clayton-Thomas fronted Blood Sweat & Tears in the nightcap.

Starship opened?? Should have been the other way around!
That "Freedom at Point Zero" LP with Mickey is Jefferson Stardhip/Airplanes BEST effort!!
Me 2❤️❤️❤️❤️
Truly a legendary singer....
Music by musicians! Oh how I long for this again!
Basically this is your perfect constructed pop song. Still holds up to this day.
Wow that’s soul and make me smile
I've watched this video nearly 100 times (literally)! What an amazing Voice🙆🏻♂️👌👍💖
Damn! I wasn't expecting that. Hes got it.
Gives me the chills
Same, reminds me of Star Lord and Gamora
This made my day. What a voice
Always Loved Mickey's voice! Man
That's some SERIOUS SOUL.🎸💚
Helluva voice.. God that song brings me back to my youth
Haven't seen or heard Mickey in years. Used to hear him all the time when I worked for Jimi Jamison and Bobby Kimball. Mick has a great voice that ALWAYS delivers. Good to hear that talent again. Nice guy too.
What a voice, amazing!
Love this song, dude has a great voice.
Never knew this was Mickey singing this. Wow!
He cold fucking slayed it
This is excellent.....man , he’s such a great singer
One of my all time favorite songs... in my 20's in the 70's dating different ladies... finest kind. Mickey's voice is unreal.
still just as amazing as ever. Always one of my favorite voices of all time.
This is how it is done! Mickey is amazing!!
That Man can SING!
Mickey is just astounding. He just never had the right band to throw him to forefront. It's a shame so many people don't know him.
Omg his voice has power still after all the years
What a voice. He still sounds great today too.
Mickey Thomas sounds better than ever. Soulful and powerful !!!
First concert that I can remember 1991, Daytona Beach, July 4th free concert on the beach, Jefferson Starship! I was 7years old. Mickey Thomas absolutely blew the crowd away! He sang, to this day, the best rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner that I have ever heard
Mickey Thomas still performs Starship songs to this day
Amazing performance! Love it!
That is talent.
Fabulous, wholesome and still a wonderful singer..
Yes, Mickey still comes to Epcot every year and he still has that incredible voice! Howard should get him in the studio and interview him again- Lots of interesting stories I bet.
✨That’s how it’s done, ladies & gents... ✨
Daaaayumm, he’s amazing, impromptu many years after the original release of that classic. Let’s also give it up for his guitarist/back-up vocalist.
🤩👌🏼👏🏼🤟🏼
Mickey was one of the most underrated male rock singers in history, right along side Brad Delp from "Boston" Great vocalists, rip Brad...taken from us too soon.
What a voice! ❤️👍
One of my all time favorite songs...
what a voice
Oh, so THAT'S how real singers do it
Dam
Wasn't expecting them to sound that good
Dude's still got it.
Wowzersssss ...mickey is just an incredibe singer...artist.....what a voice.....awesome...just awesome.....
Mickey (The God) Thomas. Woowww...i love you guy!!! Cheers from Brazil
Holy fffing wow. That man can sing
man.. Mickey Thomas' voice is just utterly fucking amazing...
This guy has the best pipes... and he knows it!
Micky is 70 now (2020). How could he still sound that good in an interview setting and not a studio? Amazing. Before Starship, there was that great Elvin Bishop song...love it.
wow...what a voice Mickey...
Wow!!--He still has the pipes, hasn't lost a beat.
Wow. Unbelievable vocals.
What a voice... Epic
His full name is, "Mickey I Don't Need No Stinkin Autotune Thomas". He's from a time when people could actually sing without a computer's help. That's why it sounds better and has more feeling! (And still, you kids call it "progress")
relax boomer freeze
In live performance he can give it the kick or emotion he's feeling that separates it from the studio version. Mickey has a serious set of pipes.
Hallelujah brother!!
@Tarrell Freeze Amen, Amen!
that was awesome his voice is still pretty much dead on
this is why stern's show was the greatest in all of media. other reasons too.
This is so good!
Wow ... his vocals are up there with Steve Perry and Lou Gramm.
He sounds awesome! 😍
Who are the 23 tone-deaf folks that actually voted down this timeless song and impeccable voice?
Absolutely incredible vocal virtuoso
Wow! Stunning!
THIS IS AWESOME. THANK YOU!!!!!
Goosebumps🔥🔥🔥🔥
seen all the covers.. nothin like Micky.. just on a diff level....
I love this song.
What.......a......voice!
Such an under rated singer
Unreal range!!!
Mickey can definitely roll with the best of them.
The new starship was a sound track of my freshman year in high school. Loved that they were bay area natives too.
Never sounded better! Wow, thank you.
Some singer !!!
Goddamn it! Mickey sing as a master.
Holy crap...so good!
Mickey is a huge rock star ..best voice ever and great writer ..love you boss
Mickey Thomas still has a great voice

HOOOOOOOLY SHIT! What a voice!
What a voice.
Saw him in 1977 Central Ca,, What great Memories
I see Starship every year. Mickey still has great pipes and the band as it stands now put on a great live show. Stephanie Calvert - singing Grace’s parts - is also amazing.
Floored by that performance...just came in cold and killed it liked it’s no big deal
