@@tawfeqfauzi4621I was taken aback by it too but then remembered that people who pronounce things wrong may have only read the word as opposed to hearing it.
it's really cool to see people's love for krule to be publicised and wide reaching. the guy's a legend and i really appreciate the approach he's taken to his work and his life; definitely such a contemplative figure and highly lauded by so many artistic talents. love a king krule vid essay
6 ft is still one of my all time favourite releases. I cannot shake its immense impact on my personal listening journey as well as the contemporary indie music scene as a whole. Still sounds so incredibly fresh after all this time... Can't believe it's coming on to ten years since it's release.... feelin old moment.
Thanks for making me rediscover King Krule, it's been a long time since I listened to him. I had no idea he was popular within mainstream hiphop artists. Very interesting.
awesome video as usual! i didn't know much about King Krule except mentions from other artists, i'll def dive into his stuff more. as a side note, JD Sports is a store in the UK that sells sneakers and sportsware, so that alias may just be based on that.
his music is incredible and only gets better the more you really dig into his old music and other various aliases. so glad you covered that within this video
This man will forever be a genius with music. His abstract and poetic music is absolutely beautiful. He will forever be one of greatest artists of our generation
So glad I learned more about King Krule. I love all of his main albums, but I will have to check out all of his other works! Thanks for the dope video.
I remember reading a preview review on his first album and ratking being mentioned, this was before so it goes was released so thankful for that and remember Mac miller wearing merch, possibly in the space migration videos
Epitome is pronounced "uh-PIT-uh-me," not "EP-ih-tome." (This explains why, as a kid, I thought the guitar brand Epiphone was pronounced "uh-PIFF-uh-nee.")
Damn this legend turned down Kanye. Probably gonna remain one of my favorite artists forever. It's crazy that I was getting into Tyler and KK at the same time, and especially loved flower boy and slush puppy, probably vibing with them heavy at around the same time, so it's cool to see how interested they were in each other as well.
Can’t remember the exact time line but I seen mac miller wear a king krule t shirt, read an article in nme about ratking mentioning king krule before the so it goes album release and then coped the album pre order, so it goes is an underrated masterpiece, it encapsulated 2010’s New York sound perfectly and the Edgar the beatmaker boiler room is fire
Interestingly DJ JD sports I think is a reference to a sports clothing shop over here in the UK, hadn’t relayed it Dilla, but it’s quite an interesting take man
ill never forget checking out king krule cause of tyler gushing over slush puppy lol loved the track as well and went to listen to 6 ft beneath the moon and that rocked me one of my favorite albums to this day changed the way i listened to music and gave me much love for king krule still wish i could have gone to his show in cali but it was 2020
Lovely video. To answer your question at the end, I think fame does often butcher the soul of an artist. One’s intention changes into how can I make a song everyone’s gonna like as opposed to, just simply making music for fun. Their unique underground experimental risky edgy sound that was the thing that led them to fame, gets tamed, turns pop, turns predictable.
Amazing artist, would love to see him collab with Fly Lo, DOOM (RIP would have been amazing), Kendrick (who wouldn't you want to feature with Kendrick??). We need more Mount Kimbie collabs too
I love Archie too because some artists have such a big ego but you will see this geezer in your local pub just you know getting on with it. I love him & his music god this man shaped me and my future.
I don't think quick fame will ruin an artist's career, so much as it will expose an incomplete artist. Someone who hasn't put in the work to develop the skills required to make consistently compelling art over the course of a years long career.
Great Vid!! but i'm not sure if DJ JD Sports is a tribute to J Dilla haha, JD Sports is a chain sport shop in the UK and Ireland and I reckon the name is more to do with that than Dilla...

he is a fantastic artist, and so elusive
Just discovered King Krule in the past 3 months. This is about to send me down a huge rabbit hole
I ran into King Krule when I was on a vacation in New Charlton. I didn't talk to him long but he seemed really down to earth
Great video. I've only listened to him for a few months, but Archy has quickly become (one of, if not) my fav artist oat. He's just so influential.
Krule's philosophy which is stated at 3:20 is the key to being a successful indie artist.
I love UA-cam’s recommendations recently. Amazing video, can’t wait to see more
I first saw king krule in 2013-14 in an odd future video. He’s been my top 3 favorite artists ever since ❤️
the epitome lmao
Stopped watching and had to come find a comment about it after I heard that lol
Epitome is pronounced "uh-PIT-uh-me," not "EP-ih-tome." (This explains why, as a kid, I thought the guitar brand Epiphone was pronounced "uh-PIFF-uh-nee.")
holy shit i thought i was the only one that thought it was pronounced like that when i was a kid 😭
Until you had an epiphany…
Archie’s a talent for sure. Great video edit on this btw
im from portugal and went to primavera, yo i was not going to watch king krule but he hosted a secret party and it was sick, amazing artist

king krule is my fav artist, literally such a genius
A skepta king krule track would be elite
6ft beneath the moon is one of my favorite albums ever.
If King Krule and Earl got in the studio bruv .....

@@bot4n ❤️❤️❤️
@@bot4n my favourite song for years now
the song in the intro is actually never could by sharon’s adopted children
calling King Krule indy is like calling MF DOOM Bedroom pop
Yo great video. Learned some new stuff.
Interestingly DJ JD sports I think is a reference to a sports clothing shop over here in the UK, hadn’t relayed it Dilla, but it’s quite an interesting take man
I was gonna say but I don’t think this guy would know about jd

I LOOOVE KING KROOL I DIDNT KNOW THEY WERE SO WELL KNOWN?
I think about the scene in Atlanta where Childish Gambino's character is laying in bed listening to Czech One on his phone speaker all the time
his last album has been carrying me since 2020
King Krule is loved by the Mexican community too.
skate community as well
Lovely video.

Mac Miller was also a fan. There’s a video of Mac performing with “ the internet” wearing a King Krule shirt
the way you pronounced epitome almost gave me an aneurism
King Krule my favorite too
Great video 🏆🏆
Wowww it never clicked that both Wiki and Krule were in Ratking
Badass dude, and King Krule is a badass band. Genuinely one of the best of all time, I’ve got no problem saying that.
Archy is easily the most talented, dynamic and multifaceted artist of the century
JD sports is a shop in the uk
Between this and the mispronounced epitome I can’t trust a thing this guy says. What a leap to go from JD sports to J Dilla
@@lordfarquaad6339 Watch Archy interview with nardwuar, he directly mentions jdilla as an influence on his nickname.
Glad Archie is getting the recognition he deserves
So glad u mentioned ratking real ones know
i think it would be fair to say that he is one of the greatest artists ever.
I strongly agree.
seen earl on the thumbnail and i had to klick on it
King krule content LFGGG
king krule is my favorite indie artist
James Blake: *do I mean nothing to you?*
revisiting this after space heavy dropped friday haha
I would actually say that James Blake is raps favourite indie artist!
“A New Place 2 Drown 2”, please
Hear me out -
Yatchy with Archie doing a Let's Start Here X Man Alive! kind of project would be an insane experience
Hey what’s the music at 3:11, please ?
nice vid but you might try saying epitome again

he so thoughtfull love everything that he did, he like weather 🌫️🌪️big and outhere and changing and everything that weather does☀️
WHAT ARE THE songs in the background PLS I CANT FIND THEM
archy didn’t work on Igor and wasn’t on gone gone you should add a disclaimer to fix that fact
Link to the video/song you mention at 1:49 ?
There’s no way you said epitome wrong dude do you write your own scripts 😂😂
Great Vid!! but i'm not sure if DJ JD Sports is a tribute to J Dilla haha, JD Sports is a chain sport shop in the UK and Ireland and I reckon the name is more to do with that than Dilla...
Watch interview woth Nardwuar! He directly mentions JDilla as an influence
This cover his face looks just like thom yorke
I'm sure someone's pointed it out but "epitome" isn't how you say that word. But thanks for the video! Really interesting
