ive known king krule for years and ive never felt so attached and moved by someones art before like i do his. the lyrics speak to me (i like to think so), the instruments move me. i love him dearly as an artist an emotional human being. hes saved me from my own lonesome plenty of times without even knowing so therefore i'll cherish him until its all i have left of me.
Couldn't agree more! I've never really found another artist whose music expressed so much of my very own soul, it's almost uncanny. No one really uses lyrics, his own voice and instrumentals as he does 💛💜

I HAD NO IDEA THAT BEYONCE SHARED A SONG OF HIS AND THAT KANYE REACHED OUT TO HIM TO WORK TOGETHER, THAT IS MADNESS. The fact that he declined gives me a massive ooz of respect for him, it is not that I don't like Kanye no I love Kanye as an artist and personality, but no doubt working with Kanye would be a great financial opportunity and turning it out shows true love for the art he makes. I assume that he didn't feel inspiration for the invitation and that is why he declined, I would love to know more about his thought processes at that time.
Wild, isn't it? But it is exactly as you said - it beautifully summarises Archie as an individual and as an artist. He's just an amazing, unprecedented guy, cannot wait for his next effort ☺️

i've been a huge fan of king krule for years, and i'm happy to see such a thorough analysis of his works here, great job! while watching your essay, i understood that i've never really listened to his lyrics but rather felt them, like, the general vibe and separate lines almost out of context.
however, i disagree with the "no pattern" point. he has a lot of patterns. he tends to reuse the same imagery in different lyrics as if he's brainstorming ideas around the same general concept over and over. same goes for music, he has a bunch of favorite tonalities and chord progressions and puts them in different contexts. he has no pattern in the general approach to songwriting, yes, the structures of his songs are very versatile, but he's not as chaotic as you claim.

Of course I agree there are clear leit-motifs throughout Archy's work which make up for a coherent and inspiring body of work, both lyrical (i.e. very specific for him loneliness discussed in this video) and musical.
I guess that by stating his style of making music is unpredictable I actually meant exactly what you said in your comment - I even feel a bit jealous you managed to put out so clearly what I feel about his music (and I couldn't agree more on feeling his lyrics more than analysing it!) 😂
Either way, the process of making this video was really something new to me (and it's crucial to me to take up new challenges so I never really repeat myself): I've also never considered myself an analytical music-listener. The most important aspect of music I enjoy is its emotionality and the way it makes me feel (basically what King Krule does best). So, making this video essay was really exploring something I've never done before but it also taught me so much in terms of thinking and writing about music and artists.
Sorry for such a long response but your comment somehow inspired me to write my soul off 😂 Once again, thank you for watching, it's such an incredible experience to connect with other Archy's fans through this small video of mine 💛💜

In the depths unknown to be explored, i find solace in the form of this video as demonstration of his genius and the coincidental similarity of the of the portrayal of the themes and messages throughout his works, in the quiet comment section of an old video I find refuge from the suffering among like minded individuals. 10/10 this video is criminally underrated

Mega Cię doceniam za ten materiał. Archy to dla mnie zdecydowanie jeden z lepszych artystów. Mimo tego, że na scenie muzycznej jest pod wieloma pseudonimami, to i tak wszystkie są idealnie dopracowane. The ooz to dla mnie jego najlepszy album - muzycznie i "fabularnie". Apropo tytułu albumu "the ooz" to byłem przekonany, że jest to po prostu "zoo" od tyłu (jednym z pierwszych pseudonimów archeigo był "zoo kid"). Like i subskrypcja i zdecydowanie będę dalej śledzić Twój kanał bo wiem, że będzie warto!!
p.s. 06:47 - diver, a nie driver. Archy w tym albumie porównuje się jednocześnie do nurka jak i astronauty, czyli można by powiedzieć najsamotniejszych sposobów odkrywania tego co nieosiągalne :)))
Kurczę bladę, tyle osób już to oglądało, a Ty pierwszy znalazłeś tą literówkę.. Nawet ja - chociaż oglądałem ten film spokojnie z tysiąc razy przed premierą, to tego nie wychwyciłem zupełnie 😂😂😂

i love this video, i have waited and waited for a video like this about him. although i do think The Ooz takes place it the early 1950s and 1920s. based off of the look and feel of let the dragon draag on and comet face from the 6 feet beneath the moon album. again, great video

Jak dla mnie, Archie prezentuje bardzo odświeżające, a przede wszystkim, własne, smakowicie przyrządzone spojrzenie, na muzyczne dziedzictwo lat 90-tych (odświeża chociażby brzmienie Radiohead, a jego melorecytatywny styl, powoli się snujący, to jakby przypomnienie o wokalizach Edwarda Kaspella z Legendary Pink Dots). Poznałem go akurat wtedy kiedy wydawało mi się że owa stylistyka najlepsze lata ma już za sobą. Bardzo inspirujące.
Nie wiem czy ta analiza samotności miała opierać się jedynie o jego postać w twórczości, czy wchodzić też już na prawdziwą osobowość, ale jako ciekawostkę wrzucę, że Archy od ponad 3 lat jest ojcem 😛 Niemniej, materiał interesujący i świetnie wyprodukowany, brakuje muzycznych interpretacji w takim wydaniu na polskim yt, kibicuję i czekam na więcej!
Ach, dziękuję 💛💜 Trochę ciekawostek, wątków, faktów i zakrętów z historii p. Kinga zostawiłem sobie na później jak chomik, bo 1) inaczej ten film stałby się pełnometrażowy; 2) do niego i jego twórczości na pewno jeszcze tutaj powrócę, bo jest on tak ważną artystycznie postacią w moim życiu, że nie mogłoby być inaczej 😎 Komentarze takie jak Twój są nagrodą piękniejszą niż da się wyobrazić - za moją pracę włożoną w to, co oglądasz, za moje rosnące marzenie ☺️

Honestly sorry to hear that!
I like to clarify the specific type/genre of a video in its title as I publish all sorts of things (top 10s, vlogs, original short films & documentaries with theirs OSTs, photography projects, etc) so that hopefully helps the viewer in choosing the best video for them, as well as avoid any misunderstandings.
And - personally - I like the feel of having 'a videoessay' after the title of a video :)
