Can’t imagine the sense of empowerment German tankers had when facing inferior armor in the Tiger and King Tiger. They may have had their problems but in their prime and in a 1 on 1 match they were far superior. Nice video!
@@MrBigstick25 Point being there was rarely any sense of empowerment. In early war when they had inferior tanks but much better branch co-ordination and organisation, it was a different story.
Andro A Andro A you’ve obviously not read much literature from the German tanker’s perspective. They did have a sense of empowerment when facing allied armor and that’s exactly what my point was. If I was going to discuss sturmoviks, thunderbolts and allied air supremacy it would be under such a video as that. This is a Tiger tank video and that’s what the subject is.
@@MrBigstick25 The Tiger II came out in July 1944. Germany was losing, big time, had no air superiority and was getting assaulted by better equipped and trained soldiers on all fronts. If you have some literature about fist hand German Tiger II experience I will gladly read it.

@@WJHJ does it have the same flywheel emurgency startup? I gotten quite a ww2 tank fan as i started playing war thunder and the german nation in it so jeah im quite interested into seeing this old warriors comming back to life once more.
Drove a Leopard 1 in Germany 2017 (panzerkutscher.de), the steering was as easy as it seems to be here - except when driving a curve. Had to grab the steeringwheel harder and push it stronger, too. Leo or Königstiger: when driving a curve you need to accelerate to keep the rpm from dropping.
Much enjoyed seeing this wonderful Königtiger and I find the video of very high quality! Nothing to do: this tank is really impressive! There are two issues that I would like to understand: this tank had it's engine been recently restored and by the sound seems that they did a very good job. It has been travelling around Overloon quite a lot and with great care but I am surprised that it is still smoking! Is it because of the rings of some pistons are "holding" badly or it still needs a break-in? The other issue is that despite having a regenerative transmission like the Bovington Tiger it seems that the driver is not using the steering wheel but the emergency levers! Compare it to the smooth driving of the Bovington Tiger! Nevertheless I would have loved to drive it around. Good job for the excellent video!!
Kayzen L7 I don't agree with you because if you watch the documentaries both captured or in German hands they don't smoke almost at all. In truth the Maybach HL230 P30 engines required very skilled mechanics with lot of knowledge to restore those engines well. In my opinion the Jagdpanther at Munster tank museum has the best restored Maybach HL230 compared to the other tanks equipped with this engine. You can see it somewhere on UA-cam on a public demonstration and it os pushed quite hard but you will see no smoke at all nor any misfire and the sound is marvelous and full. It all depends on the skills of the mechanics and the availability of the correct parts that ihas been installed with the correct tolerance...
@@paoloviti6156 I'm not sure at all about what you're saying buddy, This engine is a very simple made, it's just big, I think the misfire is because of the fuel that they are using, every engine has misfire more than ever when they were equipped with carburators ! The misfire sounds more like a backfire. Then it's smoking because they don't push at max rpm I'll show you a vidéo about this tank and If I remember well, it doesn't smoke
Yeah finally It's weird, sometimes she smokes and sometimes no.. Even Tiger 1 in another video smokes sometimes. My guess is that those engines are getting older they (maybe) put more oil than they should have to protect very well from winter, of aging, so they burn some oil... It's a really know tips for the collection old cars maybe they do the same
Kayzen L7 I have seen a couple, lucky me, of those engines, one belonging to the Wheatcroft collection ready to be installed on one of the Panthers and the other belonging to the Samour tank museum, on display. Both confirmed, some 5 years ago, that those engines were relatively simple but that was built on very tight tolerance and required careful mantainance and continuous checking on the oil partially because of the sealed engine compartment creating a very hot environment with the tendency to overheat. The other problem was the carburetors that had the tendency to catch fire if over priming not to mention leaky pipes! This is what I understood...
Ah the mighty King Tiger/Tiger II on the move, and a fine looking tank it is too. Once men ran away from these beasts, now people from all over over the world come to watch the mighty cat on the prowl....:) Forget the mechanical problems, which must be expected because of the technology the Germans employed back then to design and build the beast. Was it effective, and a bit late to the battles? Also difficult to transport, having to avoid most bridges, I don't really know, but nice to see a fully working survivor rumbling about, and this one is kept happy with lots of love and careful maintenance to keep it moving, for our enjoyment. But image the look of a tank crew in a Sherman looking at this beast front on, knowing that an 88mm will shortly be paying them a visit! I liked how the yellow vested chaps were directing where the Tiger II should go, with the driver knowing full well, that he could drive it any damn where he likes...., and good luck with them trying to stop him....:) It was nice to see the short clips of the driver er, driving it, as I hadn't seen the inside of one yet, but probably there are reviews of it inside the turret and hull on YT somewhere........I must have a look around. The sound of its engine to allied troops must have been enough to know that this heavily armoured beast was heading their way looking for trouble... Thanks for posting this video..

Absolut top! Wonderful! Marvelous! Awesome! The real thing! Thanx!
What a job that would be, getting to drive around and help operate WWII panzers and keep them running!
I am glad this was in my recommended videos. Such a glorious and terrifying machine at the same time!
I absolutely love the sound! This is the music, which many can't appreciate, sadly.
This is no tank.... It's a god damn MONSTER!
Sounds like it misfires like a bad tractor, but still bloody amazing 😍
Mostly when he bodges engine down.. So I would say its is more likely due to driver.
Normal do these old carbureted engines, really.
i wish the maus was drivable......
Could be it just depends on how big your wallet is
animenut69 I mean, if you can fix a tank that hasn’t moved since WWII go right ahead...
The one at Kubinka has a functioning engine, but the Russians haven't started it or done maintenance since their trials with it in 1945

Panther on steroids
@Isaiah Welton you're
You mean the Panzer?
@@youtubeuser9496 huh?
I kind of think you meant to say was panzer on steroids. That would make more sense.
@@Randico1962 You're aware the Panther is a German WW2 tank that shades close similarities to the Tiger II, yes?
Can’t imagine the sense of empowerment German tankers had when facing inferior armor in the Tiger and King Tiger. They may have had their problems but in their prime and in a 1 on 1 match they were far superior. Nice video!
Except war isn't fought 1 on 1. These tanks were easy prey for Sturmoviks and Thunderbolts.
Andro A yea no shit
What a beautiful machine. Hat is off to the dudes keeping her in good condition.
All I’m saying is, this is by far my favorite tank ever from history it’s such a beautiful beast and a good looking tank
Der Tiger ist natürlich in der Produktion eines komplexen Panzers, aber ich mag ihn trotzdem
The great king tiger such an amazing tank if everyone took a moment just to look at the pure beauty of that battle monster think about what it would be like to be inside one vs anything else during that time it was a true killing machine
I love the panther but this video has me moving closer to the tiger2 as the coolest. Thx for sharing this. Drone footage was superb
I'll take an L6/40 or Type 95 any day. But that's just me.
Have a new video online with the King Tiger, this one also has inside and drone views ;)
WJHJ thanks
Prachtige beelden , ook vanuit de binnenkant terwijl ie rijdt !
Nice images from the inside too !
Bert Tijsse Klasen Thanks!
That engine sounds AMAZING!!!! Purring like a Tiger!!
Фантастика. Очень круто.
13:28 this scene is like in fury. Awesome!
Yeah the music is very fitting too!
omg the noise really !!! think the tank crews from WW2 are having hard time hearing after the ride omg
Yes the noise really shocked me especially from the inside view... WOW
Imagine the noise of a high explosive Shell hiting the outside of the Armor..... Truly terrifying

really best tank in the world for all time
that steering wheel is soft just like in modern cars:)
Made my eyes wet... What a marvelous machine ! That engine sound... Sweet music...! It could also made my pants wet if I was fighting against one of these babies....
An excellent video of such a remarkable beast.
Made in Germany, not made in China! :-)
Agree)))) gut
Still it broke down frequently.
Was still a kind of protoytpe, dont forget the short development phase, today any car breaks down frequently even when produced since 5 years due to shitty China Electronics and dont forget the new Boeing 737, falls of the sky frequently :-))))

Deadly beautiful
I like the way there are mirrors on that course so the driver can see if anything is coming around the corner... like he cares in that thing!

Great video! Thanks for the experience!!!
Tank Crew: "Herr Feldwebel, we are surrounded!!"
Tank Commander: "Very good! Now we can shoot in every direction."
Quite a beast of a tank!
Can't imagine 50 plus rolling into battle. That beast sounded like the engine was running real lean . Awsome sight.
I was already (not in a war scene) impressed with the huge size, rumble and feeling the ground shaking when passing. So can’t imagine what that must have been during the war

Hand crank start. I didn't expect that. Probably the most reliable part
I've seen him in saumur museum : huge beast indeed ...
It is the Tiger II of Saumur ?
Well ... It wears the same number 233 on the turret !
le pri anto yes it is
I once saw a video on you tube of this Tiger 2 being moved from a shed and it had to drive past a Sherman tank parked nearby and I remember thinking the Sherman looks like a child's toy next to the Tiger, It looked old fashioned and the Tiger 2 looked like a Hi-Tech, Modern Design, Sleek and angular, The Sherman looked like an old fat 1930's American automobile.
My God, I'd never surrender
They probably wouldn’t have if Goering cared as much for the Luftwaffe as he did his morphine.
Said that wen gasoline is over😂😂😂
i did never informed myself and therefore im quite suprised and happy to see one in working order. also the startup is just georgeous
Em P a similar video but of the Panther is coming soon. Might be something else you like 😉
@@WJHJ does it have the same flywheel emurgency startup? I gotten quite a ww2 tank fan as i started playing war thunder and the german nation in it so jeah im quite interested into seeing this old warriors comming back to life once more.
Em P think I have put it in the video of the Panther. Would need to check it
Drove a Leopard 1 in Germany 2017 (panzerkutscher.de), the steering was as easy as it seems to be here - except when driving a curve. Had to grab the steeringwheel harder and push it stronger, too.
Leo or Königstiger: when driving a curve you need to accelerate to keep the rpm from dropping.
Germans do really well. Its an amazing machine for 1940s
Not german this NAZİ germany
that would be a dream to drive this amazing machine
This type of engine always make smole a lot, even when they're warm they smoke
Just hearing those clanking tracks getting closer and closer must have been scaring the shit out of those who had 2face it down
That is a badass tank. It looks modern considering it's from World War II.
Awesome tank! To bad we didnt see that big gun blast off a couple rounds into an old t34

Ah the mighty King Tiger/Tiger II on the move, and a fine looking tank it is too.
Once men ran away from these beasts, now people from all over over the world come to watch the mighty cat on the prowl....:)
Forget the mechanical problems, which must be expected because of the technology the Germans employed back then to design and build the beast.
Was it effective, and a bit late to the battles?
Also difficult to transport, having to avoid most bridges,
I don't really know, but nice to see a fully working survivor rumbling about, and this one is kept happy with lots of love and careful maintenance to keep it moving, for our enjoyment.
But image the look of a tank crew in a Sherman looking at this beast front on, knowing that an 88mm will shortly be paying them a visit!
I liked how the yellow vested chaps were directing where the Tiger II should go, with the driver knowing full well, that he could drive it any damn where he likes...., and good luck with them trying to stop him....:)
It was nice to see the short clips of the driver er, driving it, as I hadn't seen the inside of one yet, but probably there are reviews of it inside the turret and hull on YT somewhere........I must have a look around.
The sound of its engine to allied troops must have been enough to know that this heavily armoured beast was heading their way looking for trouble...
Thanks for posting this video..
Trillock 1945 will ad a similar kind of video of the Panther soon 😉
