  • In this video we explain and demonstrate how to:
    1: source a legal copy of Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019
2: convert the download Windows Server ISO to a bootable USB stick using a free utility named 'Rufus'
3: boot from the USB stick, source and install RAID controller drivers for a Dell PowerEdge R620 server (PERC710 controller)
4: get around error KB2533623 by installing KB4457144
5: install network and chipset drivers
6: flash the BIOS, RAID Controller, NIC's and more
7: activate the 180 day demo copy of Windows Server using your COA key

Awesome video, my T620 twin chip /96gb ram has been gathering dust for 20 months because my last attempt to load server 2019 from USB broke me, you have inspired me to try again - once more into the breach!! Thank you

Might help if I used a driver package instead of firmware, typical Dell putting the driver I need under a different version of WIndows. Thank you so much man! Someone gave me a R410 (bougie fuck was gonna throw the thing away) and for the first time I have an OS installed to this beauty!

All those older links, prior to Windows Server 2016, on Microsoft site are GONE! Where can I still get 2008 R2? I have Dell PowerEdge T410 with licence key sticker on the case.

I'm curious why you wouldn't just install Server 2019 at that point since it was the newest one available at the time of this video? Server 2008R2 is so ancient and shouldn't even be in use anymore.

One word - Licensing. Win Server is expensive so if you want to wipe an old server to donate it or sell it for a few dollars, it makes sense to install what you are licensed for.

Thanks for video, but after installing the update "kb..114" my PC doesn't ask me for reboot and I still can't run network driver, it ask me for installing that update again. Why? And parallel I have a problem in Update Center, - error 80072EFE.
If you can, help me, please. Sorry for my English, I'am from Russia

Hi. I no longer have access to this server BUT I can tell you Microsoft offers free support for patch problems so I would contact them support.microsoft.com/ - Russian was no problem. Thanks for asking!

I extracted the ZipPack and attempted to load it just like you said, but my installer gave me the "No signed device drivers were found" error.

With a Dell T620 & 96gb ram would it be best to install Windows 10 Pro 64 bit instead of Windows server? ( I just need to be able to do remote access into the server so maybe Windows 10 is the way to go and no need for Windows server?

I've been trying to install win10 on a poweredge 830, is there something we're missing?

@@martinez1701a I was able to install Windows 10 pro one my 730. Be sure your Bios and firmware are all up to date, when You are in the BIOS choose the option to install OS from thumb drive ( be sure to have a copy of Windows 10 ready in a USB drive) and thats it.. is very simple.. everything running smoothly..
