I use it sometimes
I forget the song, but there was a part in it you needed to finger pick, but I didn’t want to use finger picking for the whole song, because another part was so much better with a pick.
So I tried hybrid picking, and it works.

I use my pinky for hybrid picking 🤷 that's how I play jazz guitar. When comping behind another soloist I use pick, middle, ring and pinky to grab 4 note chords.
