I remember learning the same thing being a complete beginner 2 years ago. You really helped me to learn guitar. I'm really happy at my current progress. Love you dude.
Same, but 3 years ago:)
That's awesome!
Same I ordered a guitar online for my Birthday been playing two years learning from Marty but here lately I’ve been slacking . What can I do to get back in the groove?
Same but 11 yrs ago - thanks Marty 🙏

Hey Marty, thanks for the short on the first 2 chords beginners should learn.

Hey one question what songs can we play with this?
why did i watch this i can play guitar
😂😂😂😂 same and on a loop for some reason
you wanted to see if you agreed
yeah, I've been playing guitar for 10 years, but this was to entertaining
Because he is a great motivator and has great energy about guitar 🎸 and he always makes me love guitar more
It's because you saw Brandon's take on the "first chord you should learn". That was my reason at least.
if you're a beginner or even a advnced player, Marty will guide you through all the way of learning guitar and bass.
Whatever you want to play, blues or rock or country or metal and pop he's always there. Thanks alot man we love you so much. you're the best❤️
Marty - this was your first lesson 5 yrs ago. What a journey! You da man!
My journey begin NOW 🇺🇸🦅
I taught my daughter that, but I had her learn the EM the old-fashioned way, with her ring finger and middle finger so that she can easily add the index finger for the E major chord.
I’m a drummer who longs to strum. This has always been difficult for me. But you just may be the answer- SUBSCRIBED
This guy is a legend no joke. He taught me everything I need to know on guitar. Thank you Marty
Thank you and Happy Father's Day
I just got my guitar 2 days ago and i came across this video. I tried this and it isnt perfect but you totally helped making my first process! :)
I started here with you now you've taught me all my favorite led Zeppelin songs and often find myself smiling at the progress and happiness I feel while I play haha thank you
You've helped me tremendously get so far in a months time. Thanks Marty, you're an amazing instructor.
This Gramma is just starting so ‘thank you’!!!
First guitar teacher I had on UA-cam! Love your style bro. Very welcoming to beginners and still helpful years later.
Thank you for that simple lesson that even I, being a total beginner, could easily play. It helped build a little confidence that I desperately needed and was seriously lacking. I feel better now thanks to you, like I can actually do this after all! Thanks so much!😊
Never knew A sus2 lol. Thanks. The learning journey continues. 😎🙌
Very cool. 😎
Going to buy a guitar tomorrow. The Yamaha FS800 for my small hands. Best tip I've seen to date.
Thank you.
Wild. These two chords are what my friend taught me in high school when I showed interest in guitar.
I'm currently just starting to learn and he describes everything with so much detail thank you ❤
HELPED ME OUT SO MUCH THANKS MAN!!!!
Hey! I just wanted to say that this was the video that I pulled up tonight and am so glad that I did! You are so helpful. I will be watching the others as well.
Thank you so much
Always wanted to learn Guitar. My grandmother just gifted me her Yamaha FG-331, it’s beautiful and fits my hands and style perfectly! Your videos so far have been really appreciated. Everywhere else I’ve went hasn’t been nearly as informative. Thank you!
Jesus Christ thank you I learned how to play guitar I think I’m gonna cry
Golden!!!!! I’ve been trying to look at other on UA-cam and it hasn’t gotten me far but this one is the SHI!!!!!!
Thank you for this, it actually helped!!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. 🙏
This is very helpful!!
Ill admit your channel very rarely teaches me anything new, but i could only imagine a resource like this in your first year of learning
First chords I learned were
Am, Em, Dm, G
Play those chords together to figure out the first song I learned. Probably the best song to get started playing.
What's the song?
First song I ever learned was and I love her, Kurt's cover is beautiful and simple. Learning that made me love guitar honestly
wow i was actually at the guitar center struggling with this thanks bro
I literally started my guitar journey 11 years ago and Marty popped up. Crazy to still be consistent with lessons.
Wow! Thank you. I learned the Em last week. Now I can do two! Whoo Hoo! This old blind chick is on a roll! Fingers are killing me but I’m still so excited!
Doing it this weekend! 😮
I like how you teach.thank you
I just wanna say thanks for this video. I’ve been trying to learn guitar for a few days now and none of the UA-cam tutorials made sense to me. But this video really really helped! I feel like I’ve actually made some progress now haha anyway thank you so much for this :D
You found your new UA-cam instructor now 😊 What made you start learning now?
@@healthyframing2728 welllll, if I’m being entirely honest I’ve wanted to learn electric guitar for as long as I can remember 😅 I have a few things that I hope to achieve with learning this. I was afraid to ask my parents for the longest time but long story short I finally did and my dad gave me his (really lol) old Mako electric guitar. I really do love it so much and I’ve been having a lot of fun learning!
Too cool! Glad to hear you're loving it. Enjoy the journey, man, it's a good one. What's one of the things you hope to achieve soon?
@@healthyframing2728 thank youu! :D for my goals, honestly, i just really want something to be good at one day. To have a hobby, something I can do well instead of just sitting around playing video games all day lol. I hope to meet new people and form friendships with this hobby if I can stick with it!! I also have a few songs I want to learn so those are some of my goals too :) maybe I can be in a small band with friends one day.. that’s only a dream of course though haha
@@healthyframing2728 Also, how long have you been playing guitar? And how did you get into it? Im very curious about these things as I am just a beginner 😅 sorry for rambling!
Thank you. Because of you ..i can play guitare. You teach good.
Thank u ! Awesome!
You are awesome marty 😃❤🎉
Thank u....indeed a great help
Wow I just learned how to play the guitar at 26 years old thanks to you sir thank you very much I am greatly appreciative & about to lock myself in my house with my Squier!
Thank you hope you have some more videos like this
I remember starting out guitar and coming across your videos, you helped me so so much. The first full song I learnt was Nothing Else Matters (with your lesson of course) and after that, it all just came together video after video. 4 years later or so, I’m playing at pubs during the school holidays as part of a program. I couldn’t be more thankful, Thanks Marty!! 🤘🎸
Thanks for this
Thnx!!!
This is the best out of all
Thank you!
Thanks buddy!
Really good u have explained 👍 ❤great 🎉❤
Hey dude i just got motivation to start learning guitar, when i was litlle my granpa bought me a guitar 😊
Thank you for the advice! I just got my first guitar and I am trying to learn how to play🎸
I teach “the king of cowboy chords” E first then Am and use a subtractive process to get the variations of each. Next push to not use index finger (substitute fingering) with these chords leading to bar chords. Same but a little bit different, thanks again, Marty!👍
Something I can use to get comfortable with my strumming, thank you 🙏
Thank you ☺️
I've played drums all my life and now I'm learning guitar 🎸. I have a Stratocaster and I came across you and what the chords you just showed are actually quite easy. I'm looking forward to more. Thank you 🙏
You’re an amazing teacher man, keep it up!
Thank you.
Very great start
Thanks dude sounds great I tried it on mine I loved it
How handy , thanks!
Now you're playing music! So awesome dude 👊
Love this
I did it!
I remember i learned D7 first, but Em is still my favorite chord
You made it seem so easy
Marty is like the first grade teacher everyone remembers fondly
I’ve been watching your videos since I was a kid. Every time I go to learn something new I race to find your videos!
This fella has helped me so much. Thank you for teaching us man.
That help me so much ❤❤
And the thing is this chord shape is movable, as a Barre chord that is.
Great videos :)
Thanks mate
Thank you
I’ve been playing for about 6 years now but it makes me so happy that you haven’t forgotten about the beginners
I knew you were going to say em and as2...because thats what you taught me years ago. You are the man Marty!!!
Thanks that is so cool and easy
thanks marty
Good suggestions for beginners! Thank you Marty!
Agree same as when Im beginning to learn guitar☝️👍
That’s what got me going - with your help of course!
Got a guitar for my fifteenth birthday and wonderwall is my all time fav. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
Thank u!
Yup. Just love this.
After all these years. I jus want to let you know that I got my first guitar when I was 12. It's been 3 years and I am now a self taught guitarist thanks to all your videos. I am now able to post on my channel and sing with my guitar.I jus wanna say thank you for your videos ❤❤
That was great, subbed!!
tysm for the song
That's the most quick and helpful video I've ever watched thank you❤
Have to agree with you on this! As a primary school guitar teacher these are the first two chords I taught this year to my students. They are easy to learn and they can play something that resembles a song at the end of their first lesson!
I'm taking guitar classes and this is really helpful thank you
Hi Marty. Thanks for all you do. Just started to pick up the guitar. I'm having a great time learning from you.
Ok ok ok my brother! Thank you much!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
this is handy nice bro❤
and when its not just your headphones but a real guitar
this sounds lovely
this is a great lesson to get them to literally feel the music thru the vibration of the chords with the E and A chords [ the top 2 strings OPEN chords ]
its just that simple. you the man.
❤❤❤❤ much appreciated 🙏 😅
Waoh thanks Marty I learnt these two chords from you back in 2020 and it was easy, fun play guitar and now I can even play solos on acoustic guitar. You reminded me about this thank you so much
As a beginner I think the first ones you should learn are E major, A and G
