  • Finger picking can be a polarizing technique. Some players learn it and never go back-the list of pro players that never use a pick is long-yet others learn it lessons and never use it again.
Well it's our position that finger picking is an essential technique for guitarists of any genre to master. If you haven't put your picking hand fingers to use in a while, today's lesson is a must watch.
Thanks to Eddie Haddad from Guitar Mastery Method for working with us on this project. If you want to go deeper after you make it through our 30 Day Guitar Challenge, you can check them out here: guitarmasterymethod.com/

Thank you. This is great. Making it simple is what I need to do now. I kept making learning fingerpicking so complicated. I am going to start all over.

As someone who switched to a thumb pick decades ago and then abandoned even that a few years ago, I was despairing a little at the last few lessons on picking--good information, but not necessarily useful if I never picked up a pick again.
And then today--the balance restored! This was enormously helpful! Even for a player who's been plinking forever but hopefully isn't too old a dog to pick up a new trick.
Thank you! This whole series is great.

Great video. Finally, one in this series that I can use. More acoustic guitar pls. 🤗 “Staggering” it is called Travis picking. A great skill to learn.

I would definitely encourage you to take a look back through the prior videos as there is a ton of value there for acoustic. Just because the instructor is holding an electric doesn't mean the techniques aren't the same. The only techniques we've spotlighted that aren't as valuable for acoustic are bends and tremolo picking-but even with those, there are players that do both on acoustic.
Happy picking and thanks for follow along!

Thanks for watching! I could have done the exact same lesson with an electric :) that’s to say you can get a lot out of these videos regardless if you’re an acoustic or electric player!

Great lesson series! Thank you. Can't help but have to comment on the beautiful sound of the Gibson. Also - check out that ('60's ?) Harmony Rocket. Ultra cool guitar.
