They’re eating the Oreos dry, and complaining about the excessive crunchiness and dryness. Dunk an Oreo in milk and it’ll have the texture they want. “Milk’s favorite cookie.”
Other countries have banned many of the ingredients that go into American foods due to them causing health issues. Mostly why their versions taste better. It’s real food
This was a lot of fun! I've been an avid fan of The Great British Bake Off for years, so I'm familiar with Paul and Prue. I knew there'd be some snack bashing, expecting it. I am a bit surprised they liked the Doritos so much, but I like them too. I'd really like to know if there's a difference in the Snickers, depending on what country you're in... 🙄
There is definitely a difference. Different countries have banned certain ingredients/colors or have stricter/different requirements regarding the ingredients. Kraft Mac and Cheese is different in Europe (I like it better myself) as well as various chocolate items and others.
American chocolate tends to be chocolate-flavored high fructose corn syrup if you aren't getting a specialty chocolate bar (Moonstruck, Alter Eco, Endangered Species, etc.) Companies were pushed to reduce the amount of sugar and some went this route willingly as it was cheap. This is to the same effect of how something containing with as low as, I think, 30% cheese can still label itself cheese. Fruit juice can't get away with that which is why they are required to post the amount of the real stuff somewhere on their nutrition label.
Doritos are pretty popular in the UK, so I'm not surprised. There definitely is a difference with some of those multinational brands, as indicated by a prev commenter. Unfortunately, some of those brands are taking on some US manufacturing practices which is degrading the quality of the flavour. It's so weird trying a snack bar I loved some years back to find it's morphed into a whole new unattractive beast. I don't blame all this on the US though, cos companies keep tinkering with recipes all the time and not always for the better.
It was explained to me when I was in Switzerland that chocolate taste different because they don’t use the same process. The FDA requires certain preservatives to be added.

Exactly my thought lol, I thought that was just a weird thing my family did, but it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who thinks thin mints are so much better super cold lol
@@matthewlennox9482 counterpoint: both thin mints and samoas are amazing
Frozen Thin mints are a game changer! I thought they were okay until I put them in the freezer, now they are my favorite cookies.
@Kevin L Having had them both ways, I can confirm that I like what I like, yes.
Somehow I feel validated?
How Prue kept going for more, was just so wholesome and lovely.
Btw, this is the best content Bon Appetit has produced in some time!
what a great idea for a video! this was wholesome, cute and funny to watch. Love Paul and Prue!
Oh my gosh! I’ve always loved these two but this video put them over the top! They are hilarious! I love them!
These two people are wholesome. We love to see more of them in future videos to come.
Loved Paul's reaction to the Pop Tarts. I feel the same way about them.
Revolting was the perfect term.
Not mad at the final 2. I feel like a lot of Americans would come down to those as well
I love how they absolutely roast all of my childhood snacks and I can't dissagree.
Okay they definitely need to do more food reviews I love them!!
I am pretty happy with these results as an American. Oreos, Doritos, and Lays are all great. I can occasionally enjoy a Poptart or HoHo, but I think it is more nostalgia than quality of flavor. I do love an American Snickers though 😂
I couldn't begin to compare a sweet snack with a salty snack; they're two different things. Fun watch regardless.
Ruffles are for dipping, Pop-Tarts are put in a toaster so they “pop” up, Oreos dunk in milk. Andy Capp Cheddar Fries are one of my favorites.
As an American, I love how their final 2 are my own personal top 2 snacks.
The way Paul and Prue described Doritos made me feel better about eating them
Pure saying “I mean if I was starving, I’d eat it” 😂😂😂 what a review!!!!
I’d love you see a review of British snacks by American chefs
Well, one American chef and one non-American chef. Pru isn’t British, she is South African.
Prue has also lived in the UK most of her adult life, in her heritage British culture. So, to say she's not British because she grew up in ZA is rubbish.
So, Paul, Ruffles are for dipping in a creamy dip. And Girl Scout thin mints are what I buy once a year and gorge on lol. You should have tried double stuffed Oreos 😅
This is great! 😂 Prue saying “these look quite processed” 😂 That’s American snacks for you!
These two need to know that everything they are eating tasted way better 20 years ago. I may be dating myself, but I distinctly remember how awesome HoHos tasted (never dry). Most less-expensive snacks and candy that are "chocolate" taste like wax that's lightly flavored with cocoa.
corn syrup vs sugar
Everything was always better 20 years in the past and nobody can ever confirm that it’s true.
Anyone else notice at 3:38 Paul says "lairs" which I think is a nod to Mary Berry Prue's predecessor on Great British Bake Off. For anyone that doesn't know Mary famously pronounced layers as "lairs"
Nah, she's just posh too.
Paul cleansing his mouth with a fistful of potato chips. 😂
I must know what a British Snickers is like! The Combos commentary was HILARIOUS.
The m&ms are also different in the UK. I think it's a different shell to chocolate ratio. But I couldn't tell you which I like more.
@@lindsaykat3675 Is the shell also made of different ingredients i wonder? Here they use toxic dyes.
Definitely better chocolate.
Same with m and ms.
How cute was this. Those two seem like genuine friends.
Shut the front door combo's are awesome! Especially the 5 layer dip ones.
I love and respect both Mr. Hollywood and Mrs. Leith, and it hurts it me to my core that they've eliminated Reese's & Pop-tarts (two of my favorite snacks) in such an uncompromising way 😄
They called the uncooked PopTart “raw” 😂😂😂
Reeses are so hit or miss it sounded like they got a chalky one. A creamy Reeses cup is a delight, but about half the time they are barely worth eating.
It’s bc pop tarts are stale, boring shingles of garbage. Sorry 😂
Not fair to judge a cold Pop-Tart.
They’re like pasty white flour cookies with compressed sugar, enough to spike your blood sugar after two bites
My husband and I grew up eating combos and we love them to this day, especially the pizza flavor!
Them hating the Reese’s peanut butter cups is the most insulting thing Brits have ever done to us & that’s counting the time they burnt down the White House 😡 😂
Wow! Not necessarily disagreeing, but the Brits have never resisted the opportunity to slag off us colonials, in any way, shape or form. Mind you, they're likely not wrong. Cheers!
How can you not love Reese's peanut butter cups. I'll forgive Prue...she doesn't like peanut butter.
Roll the tanks! Who cares if they have been allies for hundreds of years? Peanut butter and chocolate are a classic combo! I seriously doubt their ability to judge anything now. 😂
If it’s any consolation I LOVE peanut butter cups over any of our English choc combinations. Hurrah 😃
I don't agree. It leaves Reese's PB cups for us to enjoy!
Would love to more like this 😂
When I vacationed in France a few years back, Cool Ranch Doritos were marketed as "American Flavor."
I totally agree about Doritos - hands down the best flavor, and capable of holding avocado dip.
They should be reviewing everything 😂 love it
Ever since Bon Appetit had that huge scandal years ago it was hard for me to watch their videos but when you show me Paul and Prue I can't help but watch lmao
Yay!!! Cool Ranch Doritos has been my hands down favorite snack since they hit the market. I feel affirmed.
As funny’s as this was, the final was so spot on. Doritos and Oreos are legendary
Peanut Butter Cups are my favourite American Snack. I’m obsessed with them 😂
Exactly! They are loved the world round. They lost all credibility on that one.
They should have gave them the brown sugar cinnamon Pop tarts! Those are Great!
Hands down the best.
They taste like a cinnamon roll. I love them.
The should have toasted them
how can i trust someone who cant eat more than two oreos at a time
Oreos should be eaten by the row.
They’re eating the Oreos dry, and complaining about the excessive crunchiness and dryness. Dunk an Oreo in milk and it’ll have the texture they want. “Milk’s favorite cookie.”
They need to give them milk for dunking!!!
As I was watching him say that, I'm think how do you NOT eat a whole row????😆
😂 Paul sniffing the cheese ball lid!!! 😅lol
Pure!!! She said Pure!!! For a friggin Dorito. Hahaha. I can't
Ruffles are for dipping , lays are just for a snack .
There is no scenario where a lays is better than a Ruffle. At least get them a kettle chip or something.
I could watch an entire season of this
Yeah. I can’t eat more than 2 (packages of) Oreos at a time either. 😂
Adore Prue I could listen to her talk all day and night !!
1. Round 3 plot twist they were supposed to mix the hot chips and Doritos together for the hood party mix
2. They forgot to freeze the thin mints
Other countries have banned many of the ingredients that go into American foods due to them causing health issues. Mostly why their versions taste better. It’s real food
I love Paul and Prue! Thanks for featuring them.
I will not get over Paul’s pronunciation of Lays or Lezzz
Lairs
Wow I adore them and I adored this video 😂
Should have had the pair review Tostitos Hint of Lime chips...
I can easily eat more than one or two Oreos in a sitting. I try to limit myself to 5 but I could definitely eat more 😅
I have 4, lol.
Oreos taste different in different countries.
I'm not surprised they liked the Lays - they're the same as Walker's crisps in the UK.
Hard to believe Paul didn’t recognize the logo is the same
@@joelskelley2625 I guess we know Paul isn't a Leicester City fan. (Walkers was founded in Leicester and sponsored the team for several years.)
It was explained to me when I was in Switzerland that chocolate taste different because they don’t use the same process. The FDA requires certain preservatives to be added.
Paul manhandling a container of Cheez Puffs open was something I didnt know I needed in my life until watching this video.
THEY ATE THE POPTARTS COLD?!
Major fail by the organizers there. Of course they taste abominable cold!
I dunno... Ill eat frosted cinnamon cold all day. Delicious little cardboard snackaroos. When youre pop tarts desperate who has toaster patience?
I lost my mind and fell over with laughter when Paul tried that pop tart hahahahahahhahahahahah
You need to make this a series!
When they put the Reese’s away I was fuming. Should’ve given them tea and crumpets I guess
This was so entertaining! I love these 2 so much!
