  • We're in the Italian city of Turin with Jamie and Giuseppe to make this classic cocktail of 'aperitivo' - the Negroni Sbagliato. Originally created as a delicious mistake, it's a twist on the classic Negroni cocktail, switching out the gin for Prosecco. Combined with Martini sweet vermouth and bitter liqueur, it's a perfect, lightly sparkling cocktail to awaken your appetite before a meal. Created in partnership with Bacardi.
    Give it a try and let us know what you think. Do you prefer the Negroni Sbagliato or would you rather stick with the classic Negroni?

      I‘m actually here to hear an example how an Italian pronounces sbagliato, and it confirmed my suspicion that the g is silent like lasagna.

    That was another fun video, and I have another place to put on my to do list to visit! That drink looked fantastic! When we get some vermouth again, I would LOVE to try and make it. The only drink I could think of with a paired food item is irish coffee and coffee streusel cake. I haven't tried it myself but it sounds like a good pair. What do you think? Of course a good alcoholic hot chocolate is good too. (I love using either whipped vodka or marshmallow fluff vodka in it :D )

    What would be the difference between the bitters liquor and something like angostura bitters?

    • @DrinksTube
      @DrinksTube  9 років тому +2

      Danielle Williams Angostura Bitter is a concentrate aromatic bitter with high ABV made with spices and herbs and It's regularly use in drops (e.g. Manhattan Cockt : Whiskey with Sweet Vermouth and a drop of Angostura)
      - MARTINI Bitter Liqueur is an Aperitif made with grain alchool, sugar and herbs & spice extracts and can be drink neat or mix in cocktail with large measure, similar to Amer Picon, Pimms or St Germain liqueur). I hope this help...Salute!

    I'm Italian so i can say that actually the translation of Negroni Sbagliato is Wrong Negroni or Negroni Mistaken, just to clarify XD

    Great video. I have one question though, is the bitter liquer you are using the same as aromatic bitters such as Angostura Aromatic Bitters? If not can we and how do we either substitute or make our own out of the aromatic?

    • @DrinksTube
      @DrinksTube  9 років тому +2

      Michael Hinchey No, Angostura Bitter is a concentrate aromatic bitter with high ABV made with spices and herbs and It's regularly use in drops (e.g.
I hope this helps.

    I know this is now sounding picky but … wouldn't it make more sense to call it Royal Americano? Sure, the Americano is a variation of the Negroni, but since the Americano already has soda in it and with it a sparkling texture it's closer related to this one, isn't it?

    • @DrinksTube

    Can we all finally agree that Jaime Oliver is, at best, a glorified home cook.
    Dude didn't get anything authentic and it has been proven time after time. YET, people covet him
