Ngl, The Amazing Spiderman is my favorite series of Spiderman movies. I know they aren't perfect, but something about Andrew Garfield's portrayal is just so good. This Spiderman feels closer to the animated one that I grew up watching every Saturday morning. You see so many cool spider-like attributes, his movements, his tech, and yes, the sassiness when trolling the bad guys. Always loved them.
The crane scene perfectly embodies the classic Spidey spirit, showcasing his deep connection to NY and its people. Despite the film’s flaws, moments like this highlight what makes Spider-Man so enduringly relatable. ❤️💯
@@cinefreak8877 I can't stand the crane scene. To me it comes across as a desperate attempt to recreate the New York coming together scenes from previous movies which did it better for a payoff that isn't even needed. He swings from the buildings already, he doesn't need cranes.
1:06:17 Fun Fact: Insomniac Games used some of Andrew’s web swinging movements in both Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. The final pose of this movie is one of the loading screens for the first game
The humanization of Flash's character is so underappreciated. They depicted really well the feeling of isolation when going through loss by showing how instead of showing compassion or concern for Peter, everyone looks at him like a wounded animal. Nobody knows how to approach him. The fact that Flash is the first one to approach him to check on him shows that he's also just a kid that has his own issues too. When Peter pins him against the locker, Flash doesn't hesitate to validate how Peter's feeling and shows he really is there to offer peace. He understands that after all the shit he did to him, he knows Peter could just let loose on him, but understands that he needed this moment and willingly put himself in that position just to even have a chance to check on Peter.
Man... I remember this. This was my very first Spiderman movie. I remember the sewers, the bridge and the school fight being my highlights. Fun fact, when I watched this for the first time in 3D, that ending shot of Spidey shooting at the camera looked like it was reaching out to me. It really felt magical that time, and I'm glad that this duology is getting more love than it once aired.
At 42:51 it was at this moment that Peters seeking Vengeance for Uncle Bens killer days came to an end. He then realizes that his new purpose isn't about finding him but instead protecting those who truly need him.
im 37 and i dont remember this hate everyone is talking about? What i remember was people being bored of spiderman, we just had a trilogy and then they tried to reboot it immediately and nobody was interested. I dont remember it being hate but i remember it being indifferent but i know many people these days cant tell the difference. I was never a fan of Andrew but after i watched hacksaw ridge i gave these movies a chance and honestly, its million times better than anything in the last 4 years!
There was a lot of talk about this rendition of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. A lot of people, especially the vocal ones, definitely hated Andrew Garfield in the titular role. You may be misremembering, or didn't see it, but it was certainly there. And it wasn't just "fatigue", but adaptation. "His Peter sucks, he's not dorky enough", "he's too mean as Spider-Man", "he doesn't take things seriously and makes jokes when lives are at stake", "Peter skateboards so he's too cool", they hated/complained about Uncle Ben, they hated the way they did the "with great power comes great responsibility" line, etc.
I feel Andrew Garfield's spidey deserves more love, he's so funny and my favorite scene in this movie was when he called the 3 legged mice he was holding his little buddy 💙❤🐁🥰
This two part spiderman was amazing. Garfield was brilliant. But any love interest after that would have flopped and such a big part of the story is his love interest. I feel like we were fortunate here due to studio politics forcing it to end.
I loved the scene when flash came over to apologize to Peter about losing Ben. It showed he did have some empathy it’s just what ever else in his life makes him into a dick
Marc Webb points out in the commentary: The last thing Peter's dad said to him was "Be good." Peter would go on to "be good" when he saves the little boy from the car, which is the moment Peter well and truly becomes Spider-Man.
In my opinion Andrew Garfield captured the pain of being a young man and a super hero perfect. Even more so in the second movie. You can see his internal struggle and the pain he goes through trying to balance his life as a hero and a normal human being.
I mean.. I can't speak for every anarchist, but yeah, I can see why he would call Spider-Man an anarchist. We are very focused on our community, we do our best to help those who have the least and we act with little regard for heirarchy. I guess that's why Spider-Punk makes so much sense. Never thought about it until now.
Andrew Garfield is my favorite Spider-man. the most comic accurate spiderman, the quips, the combacks, the sarcasm are done so well. I cant wait for you guys to react to the second one.
i like this peter more actually since in old cartoons he was never a pushover even before having powers. he got his ass kicked but still resisted against bullies. also him being more like a scientific genius is described much better in this one but the real difference is this spidey is amazing one which is his high school version while the first trilogy is the college spidey that most people know from the legendary cartoon.
I do love when Peter got his powers on the subway because those guys were just trying to protect another person who they thought was getting attacked and Peter was just getting powers and not knowing what was going on LOL
I remember my dad taking me to see this movie when it came out. It was a great memory of my childhood. I was a big fan of spiderman when I was a kid, and he is still my favorite superhero. I am happy that my favorite reaction channel is watching this. You guys are amazing like spiderman.
I can't wait till you guys get to TASM 2. It's very high in my Spidey ranking (most people hate it lol) and a lot of the issues you two had with this one...I think you'll feel a bit better about them after the next one 😉
14:04 the actor speaking to connors also acts in another film called life of Pi , which also includes a character called Richard Parker . Always thought that was funny . Very recommend film if you haven’t seen it
This is one of my FAVORITE iterations of Spider-Man. It had so many elements that I absolutely loved but on the performances ALONE this version always stands out to me. The performances carry this in areas where the writing fell through. I really wish they’d given Andrew’s Peter another movie with more solid and thorough writing. I absolutely love Andrew’s approach to Peter. He did a phenomenal job.
I love TASM 1 music score by James Horner.. Specially the calm piano in 4:29 And the rooftop kiss (sound similiar to his other work "Titanic") . R.I.P James Horner ❤🎼
The dad of the kid on the bridge, is C. Thomas Howell. He was in an Oscar winning performances in the movie Ordinary People with Mary Tyler Moore, He was in the movie RED DAWN and also, The Outsiders. Iconic actor
I’ve been the odd ball since 2012 b/c I’ve always said that this iteration of Spider-Man and this film is my fav. I really liked M. Webb’s take on the character. It being more grounded, the practicality showing Peter had to learn to use his powers, not yet being an expert at swinging around the city, showing his intellect, giving reasons to why he chose the unitard, how he made his web, etc. Also, FUN FACT one of Webb’s inspiration was Batman Begins which makes sense as far as the more grounded/darker tone.
You guys did a great job of explaining the issues with this version of Peter, the nerds of the time that had enjoyed the first trilogy so much went into cinemas and saw what would have been considered a popular kid at the time as their new Peter. That made a lot of people annoyed that the superhero they had so much related to in the first movies was now completely different, not really a nerd in the slightest. To make matters worse it quickly became a debate of which Peter was better which essentially just added fuel to fire, you had to pick a side back then you weren't really allowed to like both equally, whereas today you like them all and its not really a problem.
Are you serious? Why do you guys always wait till I look away for you guys to react to Spider-Man? 😂😂😂 In all seriousness, this was an awesome reaction, and I love you guys so much. Time for TASM 2!
Dang, shame on me for not appreciating Andrew’s Spidy before. As a kid I would only watch films for the action, but now I have a better understanding on story writing and character development, allowing me to enjoy more the movies. Thank you guys for gracing our mornings 🫡❤️ love u guys and your content!! 👏🏻☺️
When I saw this for the first time, just a couple of nights after I had a dream where I was spiderman and saw it like those pov shots. I could feel the g-force from swinging and doing acrobatics, it was and will remain one of the coolest dreams i have ever had.
Andrew Garfield did an fantastic job playing spiderman. And i like that he had to invent his webshooter, its very comic accurat, but the Lizard needs a damn snout 🤣
For a second there I forgot this had a different title and my brain was really struggling with the whole "wait but didn't they finish reacting to this already?" 😅
Finally you two are watching the peak that is TASM, though these movies may have flaws, it gave us the most accurate depiction of Peter Parker and Spider-Man in terms of character, I grew up with this one as well as the 90's and Ultimate Spider-Man, shame these movies were screwed over by the studio lol
28:00 nice catch, in the comics Flash is very much more deeper. His mother died and his father gets drunk and beats him. Though it doesn't excuse bullying, it does explain his behavior. In fact Spider-Man changed him, Flash idolizes him and changed his whole outlook, even joining the military. Unfortunately the movies never really touch on anyvof that. This one does the closes to representing Flash best.
In true, Flash's mother is still alive in the comics but she does nothing to stop Flash's father form beat him or his Daughter (because yes, she knows that her husband beats them both and yes, Flash has a little sister) in fact, in one occasion she tried to justify why her husband did beats them, and even with this Flash forgives them both for what they did.
This is a spiderman from another Earth , there are several earths out there " Multiverse " , Same superheros but different persons playing the superhero role... In the Earth 616 or 96283 Where Tobey Maguire is and almost all comics are made , we can say is the main earth we See n the movies where S.H.I.E.L.D , Octopus , The goblin and wakanda exist ... Tobey Maguire Spider-Man (Earth-96283 or 616 ) -- Andrew Garfield Spider-Man (earth-120703) -- Tom Holland Spider-Man (earth -199999) 🙏🇻🇪🙏...
I think I've seen people say that each actor who has played the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man between Toby, Andrew, and Tom have each nailed certain aspects of their roles better than the others. I don't remember the breakdown off the top of my head but it essentially broke down how one of them was the best version of Peter Parker, while another was the best version of Spider-Man. One portrayed the more comical goofy lighthearted side of the character while another definitely nailed the more darker sides better.
My fave thing about Spiderman, there was a comic where an older spiderman is introduced to a new young superhero and his first lesson/rule is to always protect people from harm first, which shows the mentality of spiderman.
I was a senior in high school when this dropped, so Andrew was always my Spider-Man in terms of relatability. Oh I was in the trenches defending his portrayal especially people saying he seemed “too cool” when the average laid back dorky kid in high school definitely looked like that, at least in my school
you dont know how much joy i felt when i saw the notification of yall reacting to amazing spooder man 2012!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA yall keeping my depression away for real! :D LOVE YALL!!!!!!!!!!111😍
I actually like that in the Holland films, they are rich vs middle class (Peter's not exactly poor), and academic rivals, rather than the classic brain vs jock.
A lot of people miss that the crane operator guy is actually C. Thomas Howell aka Ponyboy from The Outsiders and Red Dawn. He was quite the 80’s star. 👍🏼
Also, really enjoyed listening to the discussion after the movie. Always interesting to listen to you both dissect it, the good and bad etc. And opening my eyes to new aspects of characters etc or things i may have missed etc, especially on these type of movies and yeah your knowledge and just generally great movie chat i really like 😁 its always nice to hear other people's perspectives
I loved this one! I loved the original cartoon when Spider Man was swinging off Clouds and the way Spiderman was actually really sarcastic felt like a stronger connection to the way Spiderman was in the OG cartoons
This movie has grown on me so much as an adult, I was 12 years old when this was released and was just pissed that we never got Spiderman 4 with Tobey, but as an adult I can realise how great this series is, portrayed the Spiderman from the comics a little better than the first.
I still like TASM Movies big Spider-Man fan, like I said Tobey is a great Peter Parker, but not a good Spider-Man, Andrew is great Spider-Man , not a good Peter Parker, Holland is the best of both, that part when he saves the boy on the bridge always gets me spider Man is my second favorite hero love all the movies including the MCU
Watching this movie in 3D at the cinema was truly amazing! My favorite scene has to be the one with the cranes. The soundtrack was also really good! I really hope they make a third movie-Andrew Garfield truly deserves it!

Yes!! Let's go!! Thanks for continuing the spiderman franchise journey guys, I can't compare the movies but I just freaking love Spiderman, my favourite superhero 😄
YES ! My favorite spiderman movies ! Even after knowing the original saga and the problems in Amazing saga, he's so perfect as spiderman/Peter Parker personnality. Follow certain scenes of the comics to the letter in the dramatic story of his. For me only reason he took the hate he had : Because he ''dared'' pass after the original series and everyone hated it for it.. So glad i could see u react to it ! 😃😃 If u asked me as a kid how i would've visualized spiderman and how he would look like, i would probably say something exactly ressembling the silouhette and gesture of Andrew Garfield. It's a young adult starting to have problems with adult life, just finishing college, lost while still living with his aunt and uncle struggling with his affection of simpler things like hanging out in his neighborhood takin pictures. Gwen is spot on too on the character and personnality. The possiblity of complexity of Flash. Uncle Ben and Aunt May are the perfect age : Not too old and not too young. The link between Connors and Osborne. For me Tobey Mcguire, even if i loved his movies in the role, was not really what i would've pictured physically in his stance, face and body shape for the role, perhaps for an older version of Spiderman who already have a lot behind him experience side, that would've be perfect then. Tom Holland looked too young, all the relations with his friends looked like they were almost not even 15, Aunt May that young was strange, her lovelife is kinda of ankward too for me when u compare to the comics character story, little things, who added together can make things feel strange.. ^^
No way im able to watch a video BEFORE MY SHIFT! I hope yall are doing well and you've been able to be the first to get to the godzilla rift in fort ❤️😂 Also Denise, I always love your lipstick can u let a girl know what are your go to shades?
Ahahah perfect timing, we just squeezed right in before work😂 Also thank youu you are so kind!! The one I use most of the time is Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink in the shade Keen (125) haha hope that helps 💕
For Andrew Garfield to have legendary Martin Sheen and Sally Field to portray his character's uncle and aunt must've had him starstruck at the time!!!!!😊
Honestly, I prefer this movie over the Raimi trilogy (they were just too campy for me). And it really irked me that a lot of people either straight-up hated it or just didn't give it a chance because "Andrew Garfield wasn't Tobey Maguire". Okay, granted, there probably other reasons, but there were definitely people out there who had that mindset.

The crane scene perfectly embodies the classic Spidey spirit, showcasing his deep connection to NY and its people. Despite the film’s flaws, moments like this highlight what makes Spider-Man so enduringly relatable. ❤️💯
Yessss, precisely!! It’s the collaboration and it’s great they added that! Love this, thanks for sharing!
@@cinefreak8877 I can't stand the crane scene. To me it comes across as a desperate attempt to recreate the New York coming together scenes from previous movies which did it better for a payoff that isn't even needed. He swings from the buildings already, he doesn't need cranes.
@@philmansfield7716……the cranes offered a direct line to his goal.
@@philmansfield7716 I liked the crane scene better than the "You mess with ONE OF US, you mess with ALL OF US!"from Raimi's.
@@phousefilmsSame. It always felt cheesey and too on the nose. The crane scene didn't need words, you understand what it meant.
1:06:17 Fun Fact: Insomniac Games used some of Andrew’s web swinging movements in both Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. The final pose of this movie is one of the loading screens for the first game
Andrew Garfield had the best quips as Spider-Man imo. I love his version of Spidey.
Yesss, he was funny and sassy and it made it so so entertaining!!
Tobey had a few top tier lines, but I always thought Andrew was more consistent in how good the quips were overall
Their chemistry together on screen is the same chemistry as u guys
Omg that is so sweet thank you 😭😭💕💕
@@OfficialMediaKnights will you give a try for Spartacus tv series ? or its too much to blure ?:D
I mean, Andrew and Emma were a couple at this time, their chemistry makes a lot of sense.
I always thought they were just friends
@@AyAy008 they're married
i YELPED when i got the notification for this thank you so much for reacting to it!!!
Haha awe thank youu, we hope you enjoy!

Wonderfully put
Hope to see the amazing spider man 2.
It’s definitely coming!!
/the most underrated movie in the spider man series
Yeah please
@@OfficialMediaKnightsmake it come soon! It’s like watching a movie with you guys before bed! Love from the U.K. ✌🏼
This is personally my favourite Spidey. The Peter and Gwen chemistry is so cute, and the ending of them splitting always breaks my heart
I think The Amazing Spider-Man is the best cinematically. The CGI and everything is just beautiful and perfect. Also arguably the best Spider-Man
personally, this movie was pretty good despite it's flaws. Andrew was really goated
Andrew was wonderful and whilst there are some flaws, it didn’t deserve all the hate!
@OfficialMediaKnights exactly!
I feel Andrew Garfield's spidey deserves more love, he's so funny and my favorite scene in this movie was when he called the 3 legged mice he was holding his little buddy 💙❤🐁🥰
Fun fact mj was supposed to make an appearance in the cancelled amazing spiderman 3 played by shailene woodley
I grew up w\ Toby Maguire but gotta give it to Andrew, loved how he portrayed SpiderMan!!
"God's name Sparkle!?"😅
Marc Webb points out in the commentary: The last thing Peter's dad said to him was "Be good." Peter would go on to "be good" when he saves the little boy from the car, which is the moment Peter well and truly becomes Spider-Man.
This will always be my favorite Spiderman movie Andrew is my Spiderman 100%
He killed it as Spider Man, it sucks he didn’t get his full trilogy! Justice for Andrew!
@OfficialMediaKnights 100% Justice for Andrew I would love to see his Spider-Man take on Tom Hardys Venom
22:38 Fun fact: Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield actually dated for a time, too, during and after both TASM 1 & 2.
In my opinion Andrew Garfield captured the pain of being a young man and a super hero perfect. Even more so in the second movie. You can see his internal struggle and the pain he goes through trying to balance his life as a hero and a normal human being.
I LEGIT never thought about, what if Spiderman turned into a lizard.... You blew my mind 🤯 lol thank you 😅
This movie is still the most amazing thing I've watched, I am always obsessed with this movie
We’re so so happy you are loving this movie, it has so many wonderful qualities!
Very recommend film if you haven’t seen it
Irfaan Khan ❤
This is one of my FAVORITE iterations of Spider-Man. It had so many elements that I absolutely loved but on the performances ALONE this version always stands out to me. The performances carry this in areas where the writing fell through. I really wish they’d given Andrew’s Peter another movie with more solid and thorough writing. I absolutely love Andrew’s approach to Peter. He did a phenomenal job.
I love TASM 1 music score by James Horner..
Specially the calm piano in 4:29
And the rooftop kiss (sound similiar to his other work "Titanic")
.
R.I.P James Horner ❤🎼
I love it too. I listen to the soundtrack from time to time
This movie is underrated. Glad you guys reacted to it.
Thank you so much for supporting us, we appreciate you!!
The dad of the kid on the bridge, is C. Thomas Howell. He was in an Oscar winning performances in the movie Ordinary People with Mary Tyler Moore, He was in the movie RED DAWN and also, The Outsiders. Iconic actor
Andrew is my favorite Spider-man ever, period.
For me, some of the Dr.'s motivation was that Osborne felt that his wealth entitled him alone to the "cure" for human weakness.
In all seriousness, this was an awesome reaction, and I love you guys so much. Time for TASM 2!
Great reaction as always y'all. Is the robocop 2 reaction soon ❤️👊🏻🔥🙏🏻
LET'S GOOO!! I been waiting soo long for this reaction!! I love Andrew Garfield's Spiderman soo much! I'm really excited to see reaction to TASM 2 :3
I don't care what people say!.
Watched it without knowing anything about it and it made me obsesse with spider man as character even more 😅
Andrew Garfield did an fantastic job playing spiderman. And i like that he had to invent his webshooter, its very comic accurat, but the Lizard needs a damn snout 🤣
For a second there I forgot this had a different title and my brain was really struggling with the whole "wait but didn't they finish reacting to this already?" 😅
Hahaha we are now on to TASM, can’t wait to keep going!
Andrew deserves a third film with the storylines from “Spider-Man: Blue”, wouldn't been amazing!
"Put on the mask. It'll make you strong." As a Queens kid, always the new one at school and the nerdy one in the locker room, that line always hits.
Tobey Maguire Spider-Man (Earth-96283 or 616 ) -- Andrew Garfield Spider-Man (earth-120703) -- Tom Holland Spider-Man (earth -199999)
🙏🇻🇪🙏...
My favorite Spider-Man! I love this movie and this reaction!! 🕸️🕸️
you dont know how much joy i felt when i saw the notification of yall reacting to amazing spooder man 2012!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
yall keeping my depression away for real! :D LOVE YALL!!!!!!!!!!111😍
I can see this Flash as Agent Venom.
Tom Holland's Flash? Not so much.
I actually like that in the Holland films, they are rich vs middle class (Peter's not exactly poor), and academic rivals, rather than the classic brain vs jock.
Just based on this Spider-Man movie alone, they could’ve gave Andrew his flowers💯💔 The Looks, the style, comedy, heroism, romance like come on.
A lot of people miss that the crane operator guy is actually C. Thomas Howell aka Ponyboy from The Outsiders and Red Dawn. He was quite the 80’s star. 👍🏼
Hands down my fav Spiderman film. So glad you guys love this. All I’m going to say about to is just be prepared.
This movie has grown on me so much as an adult, I was 12 years old when this was released and was just pissed that we never got Spiderman 4 with Tobey, but as an adult I can realise how great this series is, portrayed the Spiderman from the comics a little better than the first.
this is my favorite spiderman series and he is my favorite actor to play spiderman. such an amazing actor. great reaction
You guys are uploading amazing reaction video,❤ lots of love

W take and explanation in the beginning of the video also this my favorite spiderman personally and he shares comic book personalities imo 😎🔥
Great reaction!! I cannot wait for you to watch the second. Prepare yourselves! Fab as always.
Andrew Garfield is my favorite Spider-man. He absolutely nails the Spider-man “persona” and his relationship with Gwen Stacy is just impeccable!
Watching this movie in 3D at the cinema was truly amazing! My favorite scene has to be the one with the cranes. The soundtrack was also really good! I really hope they make a third movie-Andrew Garfield truly deserves it!

I`m old and sometimes fail to alter my views. I watch you because you do see the best of things, its a great quality and helps me appreciate things I may have judged harshly. Have you seen Green Street? You will love the accents and it features a lot of the extras from Kingsman.

Oh Denise never change 😂❤
Ahahah thank you, I respect sea food from afar. Very, VERY afar 😂
Fun fact,in The dinner scene, Gwen' brother is played by Skyler Gisondo that now plays Jimmy Olsen in James Gunn's Superman
The reason for why this is my favorite version of spider-man is because of how far they push both spider-man and peter as much as possible. Emotionally and physically.
I’ve been watching you guys for about a year or 2 and just now noticed I wasn’t subscribed but I am now 😂🤦🏻♂️

Garfield is my guy! And the chemistry between him and stone, perfection 👌
Yes!!
If u asked me as a kid how i would've visualized spiderman and how he would look like, i would probably say something exactly ressembling the silouhette and gesture of Andrew Garfield.
@OfficialMediaKnights thanks queen! 😍
My favorite Spidey! His movements and agility are insane! Underrated Spidey!🫡
PD: waiting for The Batman 2022 😢
Seeing how he moves and catches his prey just like a spider was pretty cool haha
@@OfficialMediaKnightsYou guys should react to The Batman film, starring Robert Pattinson as Batman as younger (30 years old), inexperienced, flawed Batman.
The Insomniac games were great at showing how it feels to get around New York as Spider-Man.
