So is there a reason why phantom needs to be in the mug window and not the kunai bane window I’m new to high level ninja and I was always confused on that
I think someone in the balance can give you a better answer, but let me just write what I remember. 1) Since Kunai lasts a shorter duration, we want to fit our highest potency actions within the Kunai window, which means sacrificing relatively lower potency actions like phantom 2) phantom does lower damage than the tooltip suggests, as phantom is considered a pet action and pet actions do less damage than actually stated 3) that said, phantom is still one of the higher potency actions we have, so we want to put it in our mug window if we can since our mug window is within other jobs’ raidbuffs as well. 4) but if you ever need to disengage, it’s better to just use your phantom over Raiton, and especially over the Kunai throw Hope this helps!
I think it’s fine, 15s is enough for us to put in our strongest attacks, and 20s is just nice enough for any other strong attacks that didn’t make the cut. Any longer would kinda make the point of a burst window moot imo, especially when you run out of big hitting attacks and resort to 1-2-3 combo (that’s us). You have any issues with NIN’s rotation?
Would be insightful to either have a written list of what you’re pressing in the description or on screen, especially for mobile viewers. I can see you doing damage but the extra information would be useful rather than just hoping i can see what button you just pressed. Not intending to be rude with my comment. Please don’t read it in that way. Just a slight critique as someone who wants to learn the proper rotation in video format but can’t really see buttons.. i have no computer. (Ps5 player)
Yep totally undestand. That’s why my latest videos have the action timeline plugin that shows the button sequences. But at the end of the day, what I’m doing is to showcase how the rotation that was designed by the balance mentors is supposed to be performed. These videos are kinda aimed towards players who are familiar with the kit and just need to check on how certain parts of the rotation is executed (ie. delaying Mug by 1 GCD in the 2min window). I linked the appropriate guides for each video so you can watch along and see what I’m pressing at which time. If you’re a beginner, you can consider subscribing because I will be creating beginner guides eventually!
It doesn’t matter if you use Zesho with or without Meisui, the potency you gain is a flat value. What matters is to use use both your Meisui-enhanced Bhava/Zesho in your burst window. And that should never be an issue unless you start drifting your cooldowns.
Ninja is actually one of the easiest melees to play once you get used to the burst window. Don’t be scared to start, since Ninja’s burst window will almost always be the same. Do it enough times and your muscle memory will develop!
@breakthecode4634 lol, no. No way Ninja is easier than Reaper, Viper, Samurai, or Dragoon. Outside of the burst window is simple, but you still have several things to manage. Legit only Monk is harder.
@StriderZessei reaper is the easiest, That's why I said ninja is the second easiest. Also people are complaining about the business of viper so I put it in third.
@@omupenguin been a while since i played, so i forgot some stuff about raijuu 😅 i assumed gcd no longer cancel raijuu ready since you used mudra/ninjutsu, but it seems i just forgot a lot of stuff about NIN lol
Mudras never cancelled Raijus, otherwise we can’t even stack it in the first place! It’s just that your regular 1-2-3 GCDs will cancel Raijus, so be careful! Or just be like viper and press glowy button :P
What do you think of melees right now? Correct me if I'm wrong but all of them to me feel like "fill meter then spend meter" kinda deal Turned me off so much that I'm looking to heal this expansion lol.
As of now, it’s really only Reaper, Samurai and Viper that has a “fill meter and spend meter” type of gameplay, though I think Samurai and Viper have more to do outside of burst windows so they fill quite different. Monk, Dragoon and Ninja are more CD-based jobs, where you just want to press your big skills off cooldown (I’m sure monk has more to it but I haven’t learnt it yet). Personally I think the melees (all DPS actually) feel very distinct in one another. Even though every job wants to do their big damage at the same time, how they go about preparing it and executing it is different, even among melees. But honestly this is more of a subjective matter. My opinion is that they all feel different in their own way, so if you think healers are just more enjoyable then go for it!
@@omupenguin Interesting, I feel the opposite in regards to DPS, every single one felt the same to me, I imagine optimizing and whatnot makes every job different but I'm not up there, to each their own for sure. Thanks for the answer.
I'm just sad that they seem to be moving ninja away from high-speed low CD class to "Through the Fire and the Flames" every 2 minutes. Why do they insist on bogging this class down with a TINY ass damage window to stuff like 20+ CDs. Fuck, I just hate what this class has become, it was SO good in Shadowbringers and now it's just pain to play. Big crazy ass strict opener and then fuck all between the bursts. So glad Viper at least gives that armor class purpose now. Thanks for the vid though, I always appreciate someone showing an opener, even when I don't play the class, info dump vids are always a nice thing to see.
I think this playstyle is what makes the class unique... it's a true burst damage class, whereas the rest of the classes are built to do consistent damage/2 min bursts.
@@ek9750 The problem was that we brought this issue up back in Shadowbringers and instead of fixing the issue, they doubled-down on OGCDs and stuffing the burst window instead of giving ninja more to do during the downtime. Remember, trick attack used to be the ONLY damage increase ability, not mug.
@@zanagi Did you read the post? Shadowbringer Ninja was good, the problem was they didn't fill in the empty spaces and instead just made the burst window more busy. But that's assuming you even did read the post...
legit the first ninja video i could find from dawntrail (that isnt from media tour) lmao. ty for that

they really should increase the durration of mug and trick attack, current burst window is to small.

What job do you main?
Reaper and Ninja in Endwalker! Not too sure which if I’ll main either of them this expansion, but these are still my comfort picks.
@@omupenguin Reaper seems really strong at the moment. Samurai is mine. Melee seem to be in a good spot in general!
Melees have always been eating good, just a shame that casters and ranged keep having DPS balancing issues :(

No, don't try to either you will overcap
Too galaxy brain of a class for me, but always enjoyable to watch others play and the new animations are just gorgeous.

Legit the second easiest meele.
Thats impossible cuz viper and reaper exists

wasnt there supposed to be a toad? lol
That’s the AOE Ninki Spender. We don’t use it in single target fights, which is primarily what this video is showcasing for.
Raijuu ready is stackable and doesn't fall off even after gcd?
Hm what do you mean? Raiju ready is stackable yes, but you cannot use any other GCDs but Raiju, otherwise you lose all your stacks.

Sad how few buttons we have honestly.
We have a ton of buttons to press though, especially when you compare ninja to the new jobs like Picto and Viper.
@omupenguin only during the 2 min window. Otherwise it's basically 5 buttons.
