In case it helps anyone: The guinea pig I adopted most recently initially had no interest in trying the Oxbow vitamin C cookie, which is what I give my pigs. I chopped one up and put it in her pellets, and she ate it. After a couple iterations of this I offered her a whole Oxbow cookie, and she took it right away. I haven't had any trouble getting her to eat it since then.
Sure looks like Nails likes it, so cute how he just grabbed the syringe 😊 Bell peppers are my go to for Vitamin C and have the cookies as a backup. Great Video 👍
My piggies each get a mini sweet pepper almost daily as their main source of vitamin C, but I also try to remember to give the liquid via syringe at least once a week because it keeps them accustomed to taking a syringe which is definitely helpful if they're ever sick enough to need meds or syringe feeding.
@@Kt-cn2rq some people will say yes because "seeds are choking hazards," but I don't bother and have never had an issue. It doesn't make sense to me seeing as no one was ever out there de-seeding things for wild piggies and they obviously did just fine. Also they swallow crunchy pellet bits constantly without issues too, and seeds seem trivial in comparison. That's definitely something you should do what you're comfortable with though. In general the only seeds I worry about going out of my way to remove for them are when I give them apple or pear cores as their seeds do contain minute amounts of cyanide and there's no real research about whether or not that's something that could build to dangerous levels in little piggy bodies, so I don't risk it.

I give my piggies this vitamin c everyday. I was giving my piggies fresh veggies and oxbow and one still developed scurvy. I always give them vitamin c and haven’t had any problems since. You can get it on Amazon. I give .30 ml daily.
A very important vitamin. My piggys don't like the vitamin c fluid, they love the oxbow tabs. I make sure my girls get a variety of vegetables and wild forage. Another good information video 💜

There's vitamin C cookies? I didn't know that! I should try those! I've got one piggy who doesn't like cookies but loves the liquid vitamin C while the other refuses to take the liquid vitamin C but loves cookies, so hopefully this should solve my dilemma.

So I will take it with me whenever we go on a road trip and lack Vitamin C we take a drop I tell her to take it til and she goes against it. I told her "Take it piglet!!!" What would you recommend? One of them is currently on antibiotics for respiratory illness, and the other one had also been treated for a respiratory illness a few months ago.. Thank you for your help.

I kinda have a biting problem with mine. And I have raised him from a baby. I love on him every day but he doesn't care. Is there anything I could do? And me feeding him greens everyday is it harmful for him?
Feeding greens every day is not harmful, when given the right veggies in the right amount. Constant hay is important. On scottysanimals.com, there is a pig care guide. It can help you out alot. Skinnypigs1 also has information on care and feeding.
Your guinea pig probably gets excited for vegetables and bites, like mine does. Just put your hand flat ( palm facing his nose, blocking him) so he has nothing to grab on.
