Great video! The tip for the herbs is to put a bunch into the jar of water and put a plastic bag on top to keep it nice and fresh in your fridge! Good luck! 💗💗💗
I love your channel my C and C cage just came in yesterday I just got done building it it was a 5 x 2 for my girl guinea pig Stella. We are going shopping for another guinea pig today. You're so inspiring
I always find that autumn is such a great animal Carer after her I got some guinea pigs and most of my knowledge is from her so I just want to say thank you to her because I think most of us uses her advice💜🐰
Omg all of the wheeking!! That was the best! Great video!! I have cut down on veggies for my senior piggies because of their stomachs. I’m excited that I have babies again to feed a variety of veggies
I actually get my veggies from jungle Jim's. I've found it's a lot cheaper, and in their clearance section I can get a bunch of peppers for 2$, and lettuce for .59 and etc! :)
right now I have 18 guinea pigs. I rescued rest of them and I have four pairs of two boys, each one true love nails, and seven females together in a herd. As you can imagine, I go through a lot of vegetables, a lot of hay and a lot of pellets. I feed them science select pellets in the morning they’re bigger so they last a little bit longer and then I feed them Oxbow guinea pig pellets in the evening just 1/4 of a tablespoon for each duos, and then the trios get 2/4 of a cup, and then the girls get one cup split between all of them. They get unlimited hay and water. Veggies wise I do about a handful for each pig. This usually consist of Romain and green leaf lettuce with carrots, celery, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, and sometimes I get parsley or cilantro when it’s in season to add in. I gave them treats nightly which is vitamin C and joint supplement for my older boys.
Hey autumn hope you are doing great!I love the effort that you put into a video I now have 2 Guinea pigs and most of my knowledge is from you.I want to thank you for making these videos!keep on doing what your doing! Kind regards Paige:)
I usually really love your videos and agree on what you say, but I personally am not the biggest fan of this one. In my opinion and from my personal experience in owning guinea pigs for the last few years, they need more variety of vegetables. You are doing a good job with offering different kinds of lettuces, herbs and bell peppers, but guinea pigs need even more variety. I would add a few different kinds of veggies to your current diet, for example celery, fennel, carrots and cucumber. No need to feed more than you do each day, just mixing different kinds of veggies to get about a cup per pig like you do now. I usually aim to offer 5 different kinds of vegetables a day (mix of different lettuces/leafy vegetables + 3 or 4 extra types of veggies). Please don't take this as hate, I am in no way criticizing your care, it's just a suggestion and my opinion. I really love your work and how much care goes into taking care of your animals. Keep up the good work 💕
What a great great video. Thank you ever so much for going to the trouble of such great step by steps. Your so thorough in such details. Very much appreciated 😉💝🌟
Where l llve it’s so hard to find greens and herbs, all l can flnd for my bunny ls Romain lettuce and cilantro, l’ve been looking for dill EVERYWHERE and l can’t find it no where
if you soak the herbs in cold water with a splash of white vinegar for 5-10 Minutes and store it in a ziplock bag/container wrapped in some paper towel it will stay fresh much longer ☺💚🌿 obviously just make sure to wash the vinegar off before giving it to them 🐰
I can never feed that much veg to my buns because their poop will be a bit wet on the outside signifying "too much protein" so I had to decrease their veg intake. They get 2 romaine leaves, and 2 herb types each daily though so it's not that bad :)
I think whatever works for your buns is fine! It also probably depends on their weight for how many veggies. I’ve been decreasing to 3 cups some days just to encourage more hay eating!
Hi Autumn, I'm new to your channel. Recently I've gotten a guinea pig for a special occasion but the thing is this is my first guinea pig and I'm not sure what to do.
Hi, I reccomend watching this video. ua-cam.com/video/qZIdbEnN_UA/v-deo.html basics to know: - your single pig needs a same sex partner, they get lonely by themselves - you need to have a cage size of at least 10 square feet - feed unlimited timothy hay, they should have a large pile of it AT ALL TIMES - water at all times -1/8 cup of high quality soy free pellets daily, i recommend the oxbow garden brand - 1 cup of veggies daily, such as sweet peppers, green leaf lettuce, cucumber, cilantro
Hey! Love your vids btw. I was just wondering if your Guinea pigs like raw broccoli if not it’s fine but it you haven’t tried it maybe you should! Well I love this video and it helped a lot!! Xxx
I usually feed them in the evenings, around 9-11pm. Luna doesn't like the red peppers, but Crow does. The only thing the pigs don't like is the yellow peppers. Honey used to not eat peppers but since living with a buddy she eats them now
I just figure they probably eat around the same, same as the pigs. If they were food aggressive or anything like that I would feed them separate, but they actually tend to like graze on their veggies and leave and come back to them
Parsley and cilantro are best given 2-3 times a week! Cilantro has less calcium than parsley, but both still have a higher amount than other kinds of veggies. I’d say 1/2 cup per pig per day max, and mix it with other kinds of greens and veggie, but I don’t know a number for sure - that’s just what I do
This was such a great video! I love how much effort you put into giving your pets a healthy diet. 🙂🌼 This helped a lot!! And, random question. In your opinion, do you think a 2x5 C&C would be an appropriate size for 3 female guinea pigs?
Hi so I just ordered a 2 x 5 cage for two guinea pigs so they can have tons of space. It says the cage is sutible for 3 guinea pigs but I would probably go with a 6 x 2 if you want your guinea pigs to have a little more room but the 6 x 2 is of course more expensive
Aw I’m glad you enjoyed! Personally I would say a 2x6 or larger for three females. It gets crowded in a 2x5 with hides and all if you have three so I’d do a 2x6!
Yes occasionally! But I find those things to be more treat items and not necessary to have a balanced diet. Most of the nutrients they need come from the variety of herbs 😊
They have different care than guinea pigs and need more enrichment and things to do. They also need a much larger space and time to free roam a larger area. You have to groom them often. No pet is easy and that includes rabbits
I don’t feed broccoli because of bloat. Carrots and cucumbers I feed sometimes. Cucumbers and celery are mostly water and carrot has more sugar than I’d like so I consider them treats / not as essential as the other veggies
@@autumngrace. oh oops ive been only feeding by 2 Guinea pig peppers carrots broccoli celery cauliflower and a month ago I fed them a little bit of lettuce my mom and I saw on the Internet that lettuce is too much water in it and giving them have diarrhea
@@rainfallwildcraft3740 you definitely want to avoid broccoli and cauliflower it can cause bloat. iceberg lettuce is not good for them but the other kinds are ok in moderation. try to feed some herbs like cilantro and parsley 2-3 times a week. pepper is good daily, carrots and cucumbers a few times a week. if they have diarrhea with the lettuce stop, but I’ve never had an issue with mine as long as u limit veggies to one cup a day. Just monitor their poo
Hi, love your videos, but I must say that I'm pretty disappointed, because you didn't recycle that plastic... I know that you have so much other stuff to do, but it's really important to recycle ( especially plastic). Btw no hate, but I just wanted to say my opinion. The guinea pigs are so fricking cute 😍
The Recycling bins in my apartment complex are full of trash and no one properly sorts them so I’m not sure any of it actually gets recycled. As an individual, me recycling doesn’t make that much a difference. It’s the large corporations who need to make a change. I do plenty of other environmentally friendly things, I reuse all my plastic bags - which is actually more effective than simply recycling them. In addition I second hand shop when I can and I’m actually pescatarian so I’ve reduced my carbon footprint that way too. Just because I didn’t recycle the piece of plastic in this video doesn’t mean I don’t care about the environment. Glad you enjoyed the video :)
This isn’t true, one Google search will tell you that. The seeds in tomatoes, and other fruits like cucumbers and peppers are soft seeds and therefore safe for them. Please do your research before making assumptions

I give mine separate plates, and just watch the buns incase one goes and eats the others food :)
