      I can't imagine the rage towards duPont. I lost my brother to drug overdose and I am still surprised how incredibly sad I still am over the loss. Losing your brother hurts. To know that some narcissistic jerkface that also took his joy and passion of sport away intentionally killed his brother. That's so incredibly unfair.

      Come on, are you a softy or what? This guy is talking about sports and there are people out there who deal with stress far worse than this documentary on an everyday basis. My life has been stressful since I was born and even when I was inside my mother's womb.
      The problem with you Gen Ziers is you have nothing tough to talk about and live off what others have gone through and act like your life has been tough. I have a cousin who went to state championship and I only did wrestling at a trouble maker school back in the late 80s and early 90s and I would beat him every time and it was because I was a natural and I got into a lot of fights growing up.

No one could dream of defeating him on the mat at any weight. When he fought in that UFC fight, I saw it on pay-per-view and it made so many of us so proud that he was our BYU wrestling coach. UFC was controversial at the time, and that made it all the more glorious.

But what's more outrageous was how the movie portrayed Mark. There was a scene in the movie that almost insinuated that Mark was doing something sexual which DuPont (Mark had his haired dyed and DuPont was grappling with him). I remember seeing this live on PPV (I'm 53) back in the 90s. I had been training at Gracie in Torrance at the time, and I was surprised and excited to hear that Mark Schultz was going to be fighting in the UFC. That was unheard of back then to have this Olympic Gold Medalist crossover into bare knuckle fighting. Mark did not disappoint. To me that was the highlight.
    ON a separate note: I know he had fought again years later in Brazil in a Jungle Fight promotion, and on Sherdog and the other MMA websites had Mark Schultz as 1 win, 1 loss, because he had lost to a Brazilian fighter by submission. But now that loss he suffered after the UFC appears to have been erased. I wonder why?

    • @paulosicne8498
      @paulosicne8498 8 місяців тому +3

      I found out why: Per Mark Schultz: Mark Schultz-My MMA record is 1-0-0. Sherdog has me losing in the fake pro wrestling Jungle Fight like it was a real competition. Sherdog needs to correct this. By the way Antonio Inoki was the promoter and as far as I know he's the only promoter I've ever heard of that mixed fake matches with real ones. Some of the matches in the Jungle Fight were real. And I would never have agreed to do it had I known ahead of time, I would have never participated. There's a big article on Sherdog that explains it. At least Sherdog let a writer publish an article from my side explaining what happened so I won't go into it here but I was promised by Inoki if I did it he'd make me a pro wrestling star in Japan. After it was over he never brought me back to Japan.

    I've seen t hat fight a hundred times over the years and never knew marks back story ... touched my heart ! His great guy and great human and deserves his happiness! The universe is constantly trying to balance its self so that sometimes bad things happen to good people and then the universe rights itself again ! I'm happy for him

    An instructor of mine was around mark Schultz back in the day and then recently met back up with him. Said he had insane power and a remarkable grappler but apparently his brother was even better

    What a story, even though I knew it before hand that was pretty great to get it from the source. Mark Shultz was one of the best as was the late great Dave Schultz. Both American wrestling heroes.

    Love it. He lost and you won Mark. F - - - that slimy little snake DuPont.
    RIP Dave Schultz, the good really do die young.
