    Many thanks to Rixens for both publishing this video and walking me through a glow plug removal to remove an atomizer screen I tore in half during extraction. Rixens has been extremely helpful to me over the few years I've owned the D5WS espar heater that came with my Winnebago Revel. I should probably send them a few beers or a cake or something, but I'm writing these words here as a poor cake substitute.

    @08:06 you say screen welds should be on opposite side of inlet. But my Eberspächer D5WS repair manual says the screen welds should be towards the inlet. Confusing?

    • @rixensinc.5474
      @rixensinc.5474  Рік тому

      We see a problem with that and have seen lots of issues because of the position of the screens. If the fuel is entering and hitting one of the Welds it prevents the fuel from Being atomized properly.

    Ok, that‘s the straigh forward parts, very easy.
    But how do you remove the fan (w.o breaking it)?
    Should it pull off the shaft or do you need to remove the stator on the other side and get the fan with the whole shaft out?

    • @rixensinc.5474
      @rixensinc.5474  Рік тому

      Unfortunately there's no real way to remove the fan you just have to replace the whole thing. we sell them on our website for about $280 or a whole new D5WS for $700.

      Well I‘ve got mine from Ebay for some 50 or so. This was just in case it needed a new motor- and for that one somehow need to separate fan and motor. But maybe that only works by destroying the fan- and replacing it.

    Doing a service on my d4ws and manual makes me crazy.. some vids ive seen they pull the glowplug and insert the filter then plug, some just drop it down on plug from other way..
    Does it matter?
    And what is there 2 o rings in my kit.. cant understand where both are supposed to be ?

    • @rixensinc.5474
      @rixensinc.5474  3 роки тому +1

      Usually i never remove the glow plug. Sometimes the atomizer screen will rip in half... Then you have to remove the glow plug. It doesn't really matter which way, I feel that without removing the glow plug it is faster and easier. one O ring is inside Between the fan case in glow plug housing the other is around the end of the glow plug.

    • @gunslinger9352
      @gunslinger9352 3 роки тому +1

      So one is supposed to be dropped down on glowplug before putting on the filter? I saw one o ring, and that was the one on the housing. Didnt see any more regarding glow plug housing.
      And factory manual for dw4,dw5 just show one o ring on installation. But 2 one " blue prints"
      And i never seen a video where someone use 2 of this small o rings, just one on the outside housing towards the burn chamber.
