Tip when spray with spray cans keep paper towl in one hand every so often whipe nozzle to prevent the drips and spatter.
Great video, my only advise is to buy some 3M protective clear tape for vehicles. Place the tape where the fender flares contact your truck. It will prevent the flares from rubbing your paint away. Beautiful truck though
Thanks Rickey I’ll consider that.
Put after market on mine. Took them off to check paint. Yes they do rub the paint. Going to use the 3M tape when I put them back on.
Enjoyed learning how to......thanks
I enjoyed the video very much thank you for posting!!
You’re very welcome Eric
Great work
Thanks, but as Ricky mentioned below, I didn’t use the 3M tape and the flares are leaving a mark on the paint. I rrr we move them once a year to clean and wax but it still marks. Can’t buff out either. I would have to wet sand to get it clean again.
To my fellow BOOMER..Like the shirt! Unsupervised!! I get off my chain a lot! Nice Rig. I've been modding my 17 F150 XLT Super Crew Sport 5.0, blacked out look, front and rear, leveled on 35's. Never too old at 65..
Thanks bro. Up to 74 now and still going strong.
Well done
Thanks
That's a good beer!
InstaBlaster.
You did a pretty nice job I just ran a cross your video I'm thinking about spraying mind all black
That should be much easier. Don’t forget the plastic sealer step.
What model flares are those?
I would park my nice boat and tractor outside
The beer 🍺🍺 cheer
I like
Thanks Jose’
I'm sure you said what kind of sand paper..but what kind?
the 800 grit for dry sanding after priming:
www.amazon.com/3M-5PK-800G-Auto-Sandpaper/dp/B00IQ2SAK6/ref=sr_1_177?crid=T4W8XLCIDZUU&keywords=3m+auto+sandpaper&qid=1571770231&sprefix=3m+auto+san%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-177
For sanding before painting, any wet/dry sandpaper will do at 400 grit.
Please give an update on the paint job. I did the same thing and my paint is flaking off
No paint problems. However, under the flares there is a rub line on my truck paint. I take them off for cleaning ever spring and I noticed it after one year. I reinstalled them with a light coat of oil on the vinyl gasket. I’m hoping that minimizes the problem.
@@camomano2 thank you I’m repainting mines tomorrow
Put 3m clear tape or double sided tape where the fender flare meets the body and it shouldn’t leave any lines. Installed mine about 8 months ago took them off and no damage to paint 👍
Nice truck bro hey what’s the item number I would like to put them on my truck 07 silverado
My 2018 body is different from 2007. I can’t find a “Max Coverage” flare for your truck. It looks like it would be a Bushwacker Pocket Style. You’ll need to know the bed size as well. Hope it helps.
😅
don't be a cheep charley...let the pros do it!!!!
Dude, I did. I just did the easy pasy stuff.
